"Locomotive Breath" by Jethro Tull - Adam Pearce (Acoustic Cover)

- If rock n' roll existed in medieval times it would sound like @officialjethrotull! This is the first Tull song I fell in love with, and I remember having my mind blown by how much I enjoyed a flute solo. Ian Anderson did such a cool and unique thing with this band. It's still one of my top five favorites to play at shows. Hope y'all dig my rendition!

Lyrics:
In the shuffling madness
Of the locomotive breath
Runs the all-time loser
Headlong to his death
Oh, he feels the piston scraping
Steam breaking on his brow
Old Charlie stole the handle
And the train it won't stop
Oh no way to slow down
He sees his children jumping off
At the stations one by one
His woman and his best friend
In bed and having fun
Oh, he's crawling down the corridor
On his hands and knees
Old Charlie stole the handle
And the train it won't stop going
No way to slow down
Hey
He hears the silence howling
Catches angels as they fall
And the all-time winner
Has got him by the balls
Oh, he picks up Gideons bible
Open at page one
I think God he stole the handle
And the train it won't stop going
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
No way to slow down
This is so good . The acoustic treatment of Locomotive breath is as good and menacing as the original by JT
Thank ya!
Brother that was just plain badass!😎🤘
I got to see Tull twice. I didn’t realize how profoundly great Anderson was and is.
Awesome!
Man...please proceed to cover every song in existence. So good.
Much appreciated!
Great to hear Jethro Tull get some love on TH-cam. I fear the younger set don’t know much about this unique band. Great job
They're an underrated band..
I'm 27 now and completely into in Jethro Tull! To me it might be the best Band ever made music...
First record I bought was Songs from the Wood. Was hooked after that. Gotta admit tho they should have quit after Stormwatch; their last good album in my opinion.
@@HerveMendell Stormwatch is great but they made a lot of great music afterward as well. I didn't see them live until 'Crest of a Knave' in '88 and that was an amazing show and they beat my fave band at the time for a Grammy, which these days I think was proper. I do agree though that Tull from like '69-'79 is one of the best 10 year stretches of music evert made. Age catches up to us all.
No hyperbole, this is one of the best acoustic renditions of any song ever on TH-cam that I’ve heard. Bravo man!
Hell yeah! Thank you!
I almost didn't click on this one. That would have been a HUGE mistake! Slayed it!🦾
Much appreciated!
That guitar solo was sick !!!!
My flute solo!
@@AdamPearceMusic Absolute Perfection !!
Great Job Brother ! I am 61yrs old and still have 8 tracks i have had since 1976 of J.T. one of my favorite bands. Thanks.
Awesome!
Bonjour de France ;) I'm extremely happy to have discovered your channel... I'm an old singer influenced by traditional American music (Folk, Gospel, Country, Blues etc.) like all those born in the sixties in Europe and I'm happy to see that all this is not dead in the hearts of many people. I'm a fan... God be with you.
This was such a cool comment to read. I really appreciate you, buddy!
@@AdamPearceMusic Thank's a lot guy! I would love to hear what you would do with your own version (I guess much more Rock) of Townes van Zandt's wonderful title: Waitin' around to die.

Thank you very much, Ralf!
Love acoustic covers. First time I have seen the flute part of Locomotive Breath handled nicely on the acoustic guitar. Well played sir.
Thank you very much!
Dam, your talented sir!!
Thank ya!
Nice!!! Man, your vocals work so well with this song. Would love to hear you do this full electric with a band!
I need to learn the flute!
@@AdamPearceMusic Do it! Helluva lot easier than guitar. And it’s Tull - just hit the notes and make some vocal noises - doesn’t have to sound smooth 😜
Excellent boss
Thank ya!
👏👏👏 cool!👍
Thank ya!
Ok had to listen again
Nice! Thank ya!
That’s great
Always like to see Jethro Tull being covered by musicians who you can tell are true fans! Great cover and great vocals! You may have just made Martin Barre proud

Wow!
Thank ya!
Wtf did I just witness? Mfer this was about the most bad ass thing I’ve saw in a very very long time! Well it needs more flute! Bahahaha
Haha! Thank you very much! I forgot my flute in the car...
Adam - loved your rendition of Locomotive Breath; especially the intro. Grew up in that 70's, and Aqualung was one of my most listened to albums. And Locomotive Breath one of my most listened to songs off the album. Now at age 60, I've decided to learn the guitar ... not sure why. LOL Would love it if you shared your intro. Would like to try learning it. Thanks.
That's awesome that you're learning. It's one of the most rewarding endeavors you could do and of course it's never too late to learn. Unfortunately, I don't know when I'd have the time to tab that out. I get request for that all the time.
It would be amazing to hear you cover thick as a brick. Or we used to know. I also love Jethro Tull. And your covers
I agree but it's soooo long.
You are fantastic
Thanks!
I couldn't get to the "subscribe" button fast enough. Great job, man!
Nice! Thank you, Dale!
Tried after watching you to do this, but really gotta dig in now for next Jam Night at my local.
What's the update? Playing it smoothly yet!
@@AdamPearceMusic not yet, I learnt it before, always struggle with remembering the lyrics while playing, the guy who owns the bar had to do some more refurbishing for a week or two, but he plays trumpet, so may do heavier version with my Flat E Strat. 😀. So will be a week or two, will let you know.
@@AdamPearceMusic so yeah, chords and timing not the biggest issue, my voice is the bit I gotta work on, I hold back sometimes.
I'm also an old french fan,you make me cry of joy!!!!!!Perfect cover !
Well I really appreciate that, buddy! Thank you!
You're great Adam! Excellent cover of one of my favorite tune. Bravo!
Thank you very much!
