I received my package, this adapter is PERFECT. It makes the entire package of the knife so much more slim, solid, and adds strength to everything. I'm so glad I found your video. You are the MAN!
Just got my adapter and tek-lok from this guy and it's exactly what I needed. He's very professional, answered all my questions and shipping was super fast. Highly recommended 👍
Ok... Just received this adapter in the mail. I just can't say enough good things about it. I can't believe Gerber didn't come up with this. Anyone who owns a Strongarm I strongly recommend this simple attachment. I also hope the guy who thought this up and made it happen makes a boatload of money off of it. Bravo!!
Excellent craftsmanship. Makes all the difference for this knife. So much better than what Gerber includes. Very pleased to have firesteel attached also. Thank you!
Gerber....hello....Gerber ....hello are you seeing this??? Great job dude. They need to put you on their design team, or actually listen to their customers, could you imagine how many more LMF2's could have sold if they had just made some with straight edges. I love that the Strongarm gives us this choice but man an LMF 2 without serrations would be awesome.
I bought the Gerber Strong arm knife and after getting it it did not take long to see that the nylon sheath was junk. Every time I tried to draw the knife out of the sheath the snaps would come undone. I was about to send the knife back to the supplier when I came across this video and I am glad I did. I ordered a number of his mods and when I got them I was impressed with the workmanship and quality of the parts and how well they fit . The mods improved the sheath 100%. The mods are reasonably priced. If you have a Gerber Strong Arm you won't go wrong in ordering these mods and getting rid of the nylon sheath. I might add that if you are a prepper or survivalist you might want to check out his mod for a fire steel or ferro rod he sells. It fits on the knife sheath very nicely and comes with the screws and washers to mount it. I ordered one and it works great so I can have my fire steel with me all the time and since the knife has a 90 degree spine you don't need to pack a scraper along with you. The fire steel mod fits my Goghlans fire steel perfectly and it is tight so there is no chance of it falling out. Over all its a great mod. JMHO
I just received a black adapter with belt clip and leather belt loop. Peter's communication was awesome, the product is exactly as advertised, the fit and finish is excellent and you can't beat the prices. Highly recommend!
I haven't even bought a Strong-arm knife yet,but I already want the extension! Thank you for making these available to us. My order will come at you soon.
Just got mine big brother. I absolutely love it. Great investment, and great invention on your part. Crazy gerber dont think of this stuff already. Anyways i give you 5 star rating man. Awesome service, awesome product. I highly recommend to anyone with the strongarm.
EDIT: I purchased one of these mod-kits. I have to say I am extremely happy with the construction, the quality, the utility and the price. It's just a brilliant mod that every Gerber Strongarm knife owner should have. Kudos! Hey there. Innovative work! I fired-off an email inquiry to you from my hotmail account. I hope you're still making this custom - I'd sure love to purchase it! Cheers.
nice improvements....I still have the first one you made even thou I sold the knife...just encase I get another one. deff huge improvement over factory
Received my adapter from Peter today. His products are great and are a must if you have a Gerber StrongArm. He responded quickly to my emails and shipped very quickly.
Why after all my time over last couple years did this video never make it to me!!! Amazing looking work and I'm emailing/ordering mine right now! I'm so glad I found this video!
For me this solved a problem I didn't like now I'm happy with my purchase of this knife it is now functional all around. I received my adapter a day ago and it is great I will be ordering one of his newer designs for one of my other sheaths. This guys design if your looking for a upgrade for this sheath is the best I have seen at this time.
Happy I stumbled across your video, sending an email now. Necessity is the mother of invention and I'm glad you saw the necessity and had the creativity to fabricate this.
I just received the adapter, leather belt loop, paracord and the black plastic belt clip. High quality merchandise that works exactly as shown in Petes vid.
Chamdar17 I just got my order. Outstanding! Perfect, no fu*king around. Great job. That flexible nylon sheath from Gerber is useless in my opinion. I sure hope you can make yourself some big time money. Thanks and good luck.
that is very innovative. i think you should show it to gerber. one thing..the webbing setup that gerber provides allows you to use a skinny belt or fatter, warbelt.
Well, both the belt-loop and belt-clip I offer are designed to fit a belt 2" wide by 1/4" thick... but the belt-clip works with molle webbing (I've tested that), and the extension itself is compatible with every belt-attachment accessory I've come across - tek-loks both large and small, molle-loks, G-clips, etc. I don't own a war-belt, but I think you'd have no trouble attaching the Strongarm with this device in place... Re: contacting Gerber, I did so some months ago and heard nothing back. *shrug*
I have bought two of these so far. They work great for each of my knives. I would not call his rig a dangler. If you have that concern use the leg strap he offers. His rig is certainly better than what comes with the StrongArm.
Got a Strongarm for my birthday, and one of the buttons on the nylon broke while I was attaching it to my belt. I am pissed still goibg to send it back but thinking Im going to order some of the mods, very nice looking!
An excellent option! The horizontal attachment that comes with the Strongarm sheath is placed too low on the sheath and is not angled, so the heavy handle pulls it angled below horizontal, whereas a belt-clip or tek-lok attached higher up through the lashing holes and especially angled makes cross-draw a lot more feasible. My attachment for the strongarm is meant for lower vertical carry, but I do have another attachment, the UKE, which allows angled-cross-draw at a lower height than attaching a clip to the face of the sheath. Once again though, it is designed for lower carry, i.e. below the belt-line. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Just let me know what all you need, there are details at the end of the video and also in the "about" section below it regarding contacting me and placing an order. I make extensions these a few at a time, so I often have everything on hand and ready to go, turn-around is usually just a day or so. Thank you for the interest!
Bought one recently, and it is nice! Quick shipment and im located in california. I bought this because I wear joggers or sometimes pants without the beltloops so I used those clipons for the knife and works nice. Of course with a belt would be better but have to do what works. Sorry for my english. Affordable piece!
I bought the extension for my Gerber Strong-arm with the ferrocerium rod attachment and I have to say I am impressed, it is definitely an upgrade and I do recommend it to any and all who own this knife, it also was delivered within a couple days.
No, perhaps I can find time to make a new video featuring some of the other attachments, here is an IMGUR album with images that include the rod holder in a bunch near the bottom: imgur.com/a/QyPWuP5 Here is one sent by a customer: i.imgur.com/IHJCqlg.jpg
Wow. Just saw this for the first time. Do you do other stuff. If you don’t, that mind needs to be making things. That is a great and fairly simple fix. That is the type of thing that should have been thought of. They did so much with that sheath, I’m surprised they didn’t do something like this. 😮
Man I really like those options, just got my gerber strongarm in bdz1 steel yesterday, I love this thing, I started wearing it scout style, but I like all those other options of carry an really like those adapters.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I also have an alternative horizontal-carry attachment that works for vertical carry as well, just a bit more complex than this one
@@Chamdar17 ,no problem, I saw this video a while back an remembered to back as a reference so I could where my knife in different configuration for whatever situation or what outfit I'm wearing or my job or if need my knife concealed, that way I always have a knife if needed.
Yes yes yes. I was wondering the same thing on the Vertical carry option. I ended up ordering Kydex to make something similar but I like yours. Take My Money
The wide moly strap can be thread through the plastic belt adapter and then the buckle adapter can be attached back to the back of the sheath with that plastic moly pin like normal. This gives you a shorter, but much more secure dangler.
The solution you suggest results in a tool that immediately falls away from the body to hang upside-down if not secured with a crotch tie. No thanks. This adapter provides a better solution and also more versatile, allowing use of tek-loks and other accessories, height adjustability for dangler carry, rapid removal and re-attachment of the sheath, and keeping the knife vertical at all times even without use of a leg-tie. Gerber made some effort at mimicking my design with the recent 'Principle' but still failed to provide the versatility of my unit, which honestly just makes me sad. It's such a simple design. Oh well.
Crazy cool inventer you are. I hope you protected your intellectual property. I just ordered the strong arm and will be using it in the scout carry configuration and mounting my IFAK over the top of it. You seem to be very adept and innovative I have been trying to mount a pancake style sheath on a battle belt in the small of my back and mounted a molle mounted IFAK over it and have it be nice and clean looking. Come up with a plan and I will pay you for it. Love your video.
@@kevinmonterrosa5670 My list in the video details is pretty much up-to-date, I ask $8 USD for the kydex piece and have belt-clips and handle-straps and leg-straps available for cheap as well, but it's +$6 for shipping within the US and extra for international.
You can feed a leg-strap through the strap-slots on the Strongarm sheath itself or behind the slip-stik on the back of the sheath as shown in the video. If you want to strap the sheath to your thigh using a leg-strap higher up on the extension piece, either a molle-lok or clip or even just some cord laced through the holes of the extension will accommodate that no problem! 👍
Replied under the wrong post above. Just received. Fits and works great. The one thing I'm going to mod on it is to create a small dimple so I can use it as a bearing block if I use a bow drill.
Great product. It's not for me, though. I removed the wide webbing from my sheath and use the thin webbing exclusively when I use this around the yard/paddock. The reason being is that it is flexible, allowing me to sit on a deck chair comfortably without the knife digging into my side due to the stiffness of the sheath. However, I can see this being very practical when bashing through scrub hunting pigs and other food.
That's great! I was doing the same but someone on a forum asked about making a solid vertical-carry piece that could accommodate clips and tek-loks, so that is what inspired me to make this one and offer it to people. I try to make it as inexpensive as possible so someone who just wants the option doesn't have to blow a ton of money to do it. It does allow you to carry a bit lower drop-leg with a leg-strap if you want to, as well as to carry a bit higher and have it firmly mounted, but the flexibility of using just the thin strap is great for what you describe 👍 And that nylon fabric isn't going to break on you! Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
@@Chamdar17 I love the work you've done on this mounting system. I might be able to get one after Christmas. After all, you can never have too many mounting options for your knife!
+Guns and Gear Network Yes, just replied to your e-mail :) I copy/pasted the info from the video description into that message. Let me know what all you'd like and I'll get a package headed your way!
YES still offering these. Did you send that email in the last day or so? I sometimes take a day or so to reply, hopefully yours was in the last batch or responses. If not, feel free to email me again and we'll get you squared away. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great review! I'm having a hell of a time getting the knife out while I have it attached vertically on my belt. Will you sell me the parts that you made for it??
Sure, below the video are the details, I'll copy them here: To purchase an extension, simply contact me via e-mail to chiral.grolim (at) gmail (dot) com. Prices are as follows: Kydex Extension piece (specify black or brown): $5 USD +shipping Nylon Belt-clip (+ screws)= +$3 Leather Belt-loop (specify black or brown) + screws = +$4 Leg-straps: +$3 That's it! Send me an e-mail with what all you'd like to order along with your shipping address and I'll send you a price quote with payment information. Once funds are received, your package will go in the mail and I'll send you a tracking number. Thank you for the interest!
Typical price from a reputable vendor is $70 USD (62 euro). Drop me an email if interested in purchasing a knife and adapter together, Chiral.grolim@Gmail.com
Do you make it longer? I carry this knife while backpacking and so desire a belt clip style where the handle butt sits below my belt, since my hip belt often settles down to my belt and would be riding on the handle. Thoughts?
Using the leather belt-loop or the tek-lok mounted to the top-most holes sets the pommel just above the bottom edge of a standard 1.5" belt. Using the paracord provided with either accessory, or a piece of your own, you can carry the knife 'dangler-style' at a variety of heights, though I suggest a leg-strap (or a leg-tie) along with this to keep the knife from flopping around during motion. A third option is to mount the AB3 belt-clip which allows you to clip it to a pocket or to the backpacking belt. You could also use the Tek-lok of locking belt-clip option and clip the knife more securely to the back-packing belt and be able to move it from the backpack to your own belt at will.
Todd, sent you an email about a different option I could make you, but for the factory part you might just try calling Gerber to see if they could send you one. Otherwise, I know there are some 3d-printed options available as well on various online marketplaces. Thanks for watching!
Do you still sell this attachment friend? I bought one off of you a few years ago but I lost my knife. Just purchased a new one and am looking to buy another one of these of they're still readily available.
Thanks for watching! Shipping from USA to Poland is currently $14 USD. That is high (more than the price of an extension + belt-clip and screws). Send me an email and we can chat about whether there are other items you may be interested in ordering to make that cost of shipping more worthwhile. Again, thanks for the interest!
Thanks for watching and for your business, Jack. Feel free to drop me a line again if you have any questions about the items you purchased, mounting, etc.
That's some great stuff man :) I'm thinking about purchasing this knife and I'd really like to have a couple of your mods. Could you ship them to Italy?
Gioele Grenga, yes, I ship pretty much anywhere, although I should warn you that the cost of shipping is actually more than the price I charge for each accessory! but send me an email with your order and I'll quote you a price, we can set you up no problem
Gioele Grenga, the Strongarm is designed as a combat utility knife, as such it is quite thick, particularly in the bevel to the edge shoulder, which makes it strong for prying and batonning but not all that efficient at many other cutting chores. While it can certainly get the job done, I personally prefer a knife with a thinner grind for most hiking and survival tasks. that typed, the Strongarm is a good tough tool, suitable for all manner of rough use, it is relatively lightweight and easy to maintain and comes with a decent sheath. And it will cut, just not as well as a thinner knife. I still have the one I bought and don't regret it. If it would help with costs, I am willing to buy the knife you want here in the US and ship it with your order, just let me know. No rush or anything. And thank you for the interest!
Yes, just send me an email or check the video description. I offer this vertical carry option along with some other accessories to enhance carry of the Strongarm and other kydex-sheath knives as well. Thanks for watching!
While the sheath is ambidextrous (and therefore also the adapter), it is IMHO very uncomfortable to carry beneath the waistband, I don't recommend it. That typed, the extension provides for lower carry, not something you usually want for IWB carry....
If you send me an email, I can lay it out for you, there are also details in the video description. I accept PayPal, cash, MO, and Zelle. Thanks for watching!
This is genius. Gerber should have done something like this from the start.
I've seen a lot of self fixes for this knife ,but this is by far the best idea. I might do something like this.

Good stuff, tons of options with all this gear. I like to carry my small fixed blades, (
An excellent option!

Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
@@Chamdar17 I love the work you've done on this mounting system. I might be able to get one after Christmas. After all, you can never have too many mounting options for your knife!
Just emailed you man. Awesome improvement to a great knife!
I'm Rhett's brother and I emailed you too. lol... fantastic addition to a great knife. truly perfects the sheath!
I'd like to get one of the AB3 belt clip ones if you're still making these. Awesome video and very helpful. I think Gerber should hire you lol
still making them, just drop me an email, chiral.grolim AT gmail DOT com, and thanks for watching!
Are you still making these?
+Guns and Gear Network Yes, just replied to your e-mail :) I copy/pasted the info from the video description into that message. Let me know what all you'd like and I'll get a package headed your way!
Did you make one with knife retention strap? I noticed you can flick the knife out of the original sheath witj out that strap it comes with.
I do make retention straps that can be mounted to the kydex extension so you can have it on there or not according to your preference

Hello, awesome gear for the Gerber Strongarm. So I sent an email to you for an order.
Hi
How much cost the knive in the US?
In Germany it ist quiet expencive with 110€
Typical price from a reputable vendor is $70 USD (62 euro).
Yep I don't like how it hangs on vertical position.
I need this badly
WOW!!!! I WANT A COUPLE. THAT IS COOL!!!
Hi Chamdar17, like your Kydex fixation. I would to have one in Coyote with a clip. Do you send to Austria also? Thanks for your answer.
Hello Michael, yes I ship to Austria although it is a bit expensive. Send me an email and we can discuss details, Chiral.grolim@Gmail.com
@@Chamdar17 Mail sent, thanks!
Anyone know where I can get the horizontal prices for mine I just got one for xmas and it didn't come with them ?
Todd, sent you an email about a different option I could make you, but for the factory part you might just try calling Gerber to see if they could send you one. Otherwise, I know there are some 3d-printed options available as well on various online marketplaces. Thanks for watching!
You should sell these on eBay with all the options you cover
This looks perfect! just sent you an order on email, hope you are able to do international shipments (Norway).
email replied to, and yes!
great idea!
Are you still selling these adjustments? I would like to make purchase.
Yes, just drop me an email, chiral.grolim@gmail.com
The one with the AV3 belt clip
Yup, just drop me a line, chiral.grolim @ gmail . com
and thanks for watching!
Do you still sell this attachment friend? I bought one off of you a few years ago but I lost my knife. Just purchased a new one and am looking to buy another one of these of they're still readily available.
Yes! Just send me an email, and I'll be sure to check my spam just in case it doesn't show up for me
I would like to get one do you still make them
Yes, email me at Chiral.grolim@Gmail.com and i can get you squared away. Thanks for watching!
Brilliant idea
Hi there, nice work! What's the shipping cost to Poland if I could ask?
Thanks for watching! Shipping from USA to Poland is currently $14 USD. That is high (more than the price of an extension + belt-clip and screws). Send me an email and we can chat about whether there are other items you may be interested in ordering to make that cost of shipping more worthwhile. Again, thanks for the interest!
I would love to get one in black. What is the best way to do this. Do you ship to Canada.?
Thanks for watching and for your business, Jack. Feel free to drop me a line again if you have any questions about the items you purchased, mounting, etc.
Brilliant.
Chamdar17 thanks, I certainly will, if I buy the knife. About that, would you recommend the Strongarm as an hiking/survival knife?
Chamdar17 It would be great, I'll let you know if I decide to do as you said ;) thank you very much
Chamdar17 where can I contact you btw? mail, Facebook...just tell me :)
Very nice!
Can you make me a vertical carry deal like you made yourself lol but really though?
Yes, just send me an email or check the video description. I offer this vertical carry option along with some other accessories to enhance carry of the Strongarm and other kydex-sheath knives as well. Thanks for watching!
is there an option for inside the waist band on the left side?
While the sheath is ambidextrous (and therefore also the adapter), it is IMHO very uncomfortable to carry beneath the waistband, I don't recommend it. That typed, the extension provides for lower carry, not something you usually want for IWB carry....
Still making these?
Yes, I am. Drop me an email, chiral.grolim@gmail.com
I am interested in purchasing this but I was wondering how do you accept payment?
If you send me an email, I can lay it out for you, there are also details in the video description. I accept PayPal, cash, MO, and Zelle. Thanks for watching!
