    I have absolutely no idea how to weld. I bought the 140 version of this welder youre using. I got the .030 flex core but will not be using gas like you did on here. Looking to find a video on how to use this thing out of the box for us that is just gonna use it without gas 😂. This thing has zero instructions or helpful information. I am rebuilding my papaws 1953 ford tractor and need to do some welding on it and also need to do some body work. Im gonna practice a lot before i attempt anything but im jusr trying to find some info on setting this thing up and getting started. It states you can weld right out of the box without gas. Im pretty sure on what to do but never hurts to learn and make sure!

      Best advice is turn the machine all the way down and weld big tack welds. Look at them and they should look like a hill, not a ball. Keep going up in voltage until the weld spreads far enough out. If you need to "dig" deeper into the material, turn up wire speed as needed in the same way. Once you turn up wire speed, itll want to look like a ball so you'll need more voltage etc. Go up and down to find that sweet spot. Get nice and close and wear good gloves

      @@jennconley1424 It's actually working really well! Still learning a lot. There is a huge learning curve going into this knowing absolutely nothing about welding 😂. But, TH-cam videos have been great and grabbing old scrap pieces and tinkering on them for a bit for actually trying to weld anything really helped. I'm still not great at it but I have learned enough to get the job done and that's all I needed lol

      @@TheRCBuildersPost that's awesome to hear! One more question if you don't mind, can it be plugged into an extension cord fed from a regular domestic outlet? The safety parameters get confusing to me in that aspect

    I just purchased the 200 ! Your video was reassuring ! Question : I thought I could mig weld with the flux wire, and not have to use shielding gas such as Argon with this unit. Am I wrong ? Do I need the gas ? Some post say yes, some say no & my Chinese sucks ! Also, is it better to use 220 vs 110. ? Thanks ! Great video !

    • @NightWrencher
      @NightWrencher  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bud, if youre running flux core wire, there is no need to add gas mix to it unless you are trying to weld with dual shield which is only used in industrial settings. I have run the machine exclusively on 110 and it has welded well up to .125" plate steel. I have not tried to weld thicker metal yet

      @@NightWrencher Thanks for the reply & clarification ! I was crying when I thought I had to drop another $250.00 for a bottle of Argo/C02 for home use. You pulled off some great beads on 110 setting ! Very impressive ! I stick to 110 for now. Appreciate your help !

    Sir,I have a question, Can I do spot welding with this welder? I have wanted to be sure before making order,so I read manual on web,but I can’t find how to use spot welding function in that manual. Thank you for reading ,sir.

      Spot welding is a technique and not really a function, but yes you can.

      Sir,I had rust hole on my old small truck frame,I have to plug that hole to pass the auto inspection in my country. Actually I'm going to make cover steel plate and weld it to hide holes.
      At this time I have cheap arc welder and my skill is next to nothing ! So I think spot welding coukd make better result on my thin frame pipe….
      I'm glad to see your advice ,thank you sir!

    • @NightWrencher
      @NightWrencher  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tomo1911 so what you need is a regular welder. There is such thing as a spot welder but thats not what you need, it will not do what you think it will do. If you are careful, you should be able to weld cover steel to that no problem

    Is the 200p the same as the 200A? They look almost identical. Since it takes a spool gun, does that mean it welds aluminum?

    • @NightWrencher
      @NightWrencher  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think its the same thing. A spool gun should allow you to run aluminium if you're welding with the right gas.
