I play this DVD on a projector outside up on the side of my barn at least once every summer on a nice evening. Makes me feel like I was at the show! What a show!!
He is the only one from the punk-new wave era that is still producing quality tunes he doesn't get it right every time but that's what I love about Weller always pushing himself prepared to take risks try new things as I said it doesn't work out all the time but when he does get it right pure class
Skill and the ability to show people that he dosn't regard himself above his fans, he reaches out to them and knows them and he sings and his words relate to those people? And hes like fine wine, he gets better with age, not many stars can say that about themselves,
As Noel Gallagher said..know one is allowed to be this good! Still rocking, still having it...the genius that is Paul Weller..nobody can touch him...may long he regin...no.1 in our hearts..thanks for everything..shaped my life and proud❤👍

I was 17 y.o., when I saw The Jam in Wembley Arena, twice, in their split concerts. I was in the second and the sixth, the final. On the way back, in the train to Oxford Circus, I was crying. Watchin this, my tears were in vain. Mr Paul Weller, Respect. Tony, Thessaloniki, Greece.
PW, the soundtrack to my life... the coolest, the most relentless, most talented artist the UK ever produced post 1960s. Still shocking that after 40 years he still does not get the global recognition he deserves. Met him severally, a wonderfully humble but irreverent human being! The man who proves that you can hold Modernist values and style for life!
I only have a cursory knowledge of his solo material but just going on the songs in this performance I'd say a partial reason could be his very retro sound. The first couple of songs are very Small Faces & most of the rest have a very late 60's RnB / Blue eyed Soul feel. Some of this material wouldn't be out of place in a Woodstock retrospective. It's funny how Weller has occasionally been dismissive of The Jam yet to me they sounded so much more progressive & edgy than this stuff.
@@theselector4733 I've never heard him say anything other than Jam was his teenage years ? Jam was high energy working class angry youth stuff , except for the very later stuff which really merged into TSC project. This is a mature adult music, much more complex and varied - hes simply couldn't have spent the rest of his like playing Jam songs , though the absolute classics he still does . I get the late 60's sound sure - its whats coming from his heart and what he wanted to do in that decade. He seems to be much more experimental 20 years later than this .
@@Fractalite When I said "dismissive" I meant that whenever he's asked about putting The Jam back together he dismisses it offhand. And it's completely understandable......he's moved on. You can't be an angry young man forever, at some point the comfortable middle age lull kicks in. Happens to the best of us.

So true... 1:45:31 he salutes his peers. .. Though I wasn't into The Jam, every Style Council and Paul Weller band album since consumed over these decades, and nothing slows him down, prolific pure musician driven to write and perform new material, so many genres, plus those amazing covers - who else has the balls to take on like What's Going On, or ffs Karen Carpenter, and makes them magic? Just unreal in total versatility, imagination and as you say total badass king of live performances always second to none. Grounded & humble to this day. The stunning mystery remains how such a musical god in UK and elsewhere still remains obscure to mainstream Americans - though what's to solve, US just one gigantic dumbass nation.....
I have wanted to be P since 1977 and still want to be him today he has made my life so much better with his endless chain of purely heartfelt fantastic songs. He can't be beaten and I can't be bought.
