    I greatly appreciate this video! Needed to see this to complete replacing my 2016 Ford Edge Sport’s rear calipers!! I couldn’t find anyone else discussing the electric brake motor removal process! Thankyou!

    I wish I could have seen you take out the bolts for the parking brake actuator.. 2:33 You said separate the motor.. Those bolts are rusted on. We have everything torn apart. I left work early today and got my car to my boyfriend's house so he could do it. Something happened to the caliper and it torn the brakes up, strangely the rotor is fine, but I could not drive it much longer. I can't even buy a new one right now, I have to either order it online or get one from the dealer. AutoZone/O'Reilly's doesn't sell it. Trying to get it off with vice grips, penetration spray.. he's now cutting into that plastic to have room to get a better grip. Can't heat it up cause of the plastic, can't drill into in and reserve it. I'm screwed. I'm 45 mins from home/work and I need to work tomorrow morning.

    Would this still work with a malfunction due to me putting the caliper back on without the piston?.. car still drives but I have no brake fluid and parking brake light still on..

    Do you need to bleed the abs right away?

    • @Nickthecarguy
      @Nickthecarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      After you replace the caliper you always was to bleed the brakes before you start driving or you will have a brake pedal that goes to the floor

      @@Nickthecarguy I meant have the abs do a auto bleed. Is that a requirement after a caliper replacement?

    • @Nickthecarguy

      @@stevenbills9968 unless you can do it the old way where somone open the bleeder screw and another person push down the brake pedal and hold until the bleeder screw closed the repeat this process until all the air out of the system

      @@Nickthecarguy I just didn’t know if the electrical part needed a special process

      @@stevenbills9968 you talking about the electric parking brake no doesn't really need calibration just bleed brakes and good to go

    What happens if you took off the caliper without putting it maintenance mode?

    • @Nickthecarguy
      @Nickthecarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends are you replacing the brake pads or just the caliper it self

      The rear calipers was locked up i notice it was hard to accelerate and when I try to spin the wheel I can't move them by hand
