    Florida State has had talent at the skill positions every year since their championship. The forgot to recruit the fundamental positions, offensive line, and it has cost them everything.
    Francois had potential to be great, but the inability to block a basic four man rush cost this man his career and it’s why Florida State is a joke nowadays.

    • @HarrisHighlights
      @HarrisHighlights  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yup. They've had potential every year, but it just never all adds up to form a great team. That injury really hurt FSU in the long run

    • @greatness1438
      @greatness1438 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Harris Highlights yeah the injury sped up their collapse, but I think the seeds were already planted at that point. The oline was trash in the years after Winston and Gholson.
      I’m also not sure that the culture Fisher had at the end of his tenure at FSU was very sustainable without him at the helm. I read some article on Bleacher Report about the struggles Taggart had transitioning the team to his philosophy from Fishers.

    Francois had alot of talent. He was like the 4th best QB in his class when we got him. His 1st season starting he was great. Three for 3350 yards. We finished top 10 in the country with a big win over Michigan in the Orange bowl. Then going into that next season we WAYYYYY hyped up. Started off #3 in the country! Us Nole fans were pumped about that season. We were starting off vs Bama! And then Francois got hurt and our season went down the tubes. But Francois was never the same after that. Physically and mentally. Physically he couldn't run or do things like he did in 2016. But mentally he was not the same guy either. He shied away from hits and flenched like he never did before. We literally had the worst OL in the country. But still Deondre wasn't the same guy as he was pre injury. Such a shame, because he would have been a solid NFL QB.
    But he wasn't the type of guy that we want at our program. Those things he was saying in that video, it was not good. And when he got hurt, he was a shitty teammate. He didn't stick around and try to help the team, sometimes he would miss practice and even games. He was absent. The whole thing was unfortunate.

      He is a great person of character. Good ball player and teammate. He had the bad luck of being at Clemson behind DW4 and then was to one dimensional against Top Tier team and could not hold on to the starting QB. He made a decision that was best for him and left Clemson. Why he picked MO at that particular time in thier history is beyond me and can only be answered by him. To quote The Last Crusade, "He chose poorly." Just like Feaster going to SC. These guys didn't exactly line thenselves up with programs that could help them with only a year to work with.

    • @daebruh2034

      @@erikkunkle9574 Mizou was better than some would think at the time. It gave him a shot to have a good season in the SEC in a year where Mizzou was banned from a bowl game so there was no pressure for him to try to lead them to a good post season and no drama of making the decision to sit out a bowl game. Obviously now though it doesn’t seem like it was a good choice but tbh I can see why he chose Mizzou.

    I remember checking this kid out when he first got to FSU. My first thoughts were, strong arm, athletic, and can pretty much put the ball anywhere on the field. But I also noticed that when he began taking the hits he took his freshman year, I said 1 of 2 things are going to happen, either he's going to get seriously injured, or transfer. And both happened. I strongly feel that if the O Line were stronger at FSU, he'd be able to finish his career there and thus get drafted. I'm glad he received his degrees. But I do hope and pray that he gets a chance in the NFL.

THey still get to play 2-3 Power Conference schools and Probably start from theor R-Frosh. Year or Soph. • @DRTY3RD
      @DRTY3RD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It had mostly to do with his version of the spread offense and the turnaround WKU had in employing it when he was HC there. Off the strength of that one Cinderella year he got hired at USF which then opened the door to him being hired at Oregon--all off the supposed strength of his spread.
      The thing about FSU was that he was a Florida homegrown & our AD (& boosters) at the time saw an opportunity to make a splash on two fronts: bringing a "high-octane" spread offense to Tallahassee as well as the first Black HC in FSU's history. Add those up and thats where it all came from.
      And then 2018 happened and....

      Harris Highlights No disrespect to him or any other guys, but recruits in Jimbo Fishers 2015 & 2016 classes seemed to have a lot of very similar issues. Highly ranked entitled prospects that were led to believe they would succeed in the ACC based of just there talent alone. The amount of 4 & 5 star prospects that busted from those classes is astonishing. Guys like Deondre, Levonta Taylor, & Malik Henry to name a few.

    I was at that ole miss game when FSU made their biggest comeback in school history. He lit it up 2nd half. Unfortunately it required a spatula to get him off the turf during his tenure at FSU. He has speed and pocket awareness. coulda definitely been something great with a dedicated coaching staff and an O line. Dude can take a hit though. Got everyone’s respect during that freshman campaign.
