Thank you for showing all of the unboxing! I had to return mine because I bought the wrong amount of storage, and this helped work it backwards to re-pack it to ship.
I love my iMac 27. I would buy another iMac if they brought out a 27 inch version
I still love the iMac design, despite many not liking the white bezels, I think it looks great with the colours and gives a nice aethstetic for a desk/office
Yeah I can’t believe the haters. iMac is such a breath of fresh air with the colours and white bezel. I’m an artist and I don’t want my studio to have your usual black electronics. Black nowadays is like beige in the 90s. All other screens and computers are black everything. Hate it.
This is the one! I’ll be ordering an M3 iMac with 24Gb of RAM and 2Tb of storage, with the enhanced keyboard, mouse, and trackpad, and it will still cost less than $3,000. For what I do, it’ll be perfect.
I can build windows PC 10 times stronger for that same price

Great video made on the M3 iMac. Definitely a major leap in performance and the speaker quality sounds just as great as the M1 iMac.
I still have the M1 iMac with 16GB RAM and it works well for my university work.
Thank you for the great introduction. Perhaps due to my age, I now find that I need additional help like yours. This is my 3rd iMac & the first two are still working great. They're both 27" and the only downside for the new one is the smaller monitor. The main reason that I needed it was the OS - the late 2014 build is stuck at Big Sur & I'm now running into products that can't be installed. Great job!!!

Here's an idea about the lack of USB-C with the keyboard & mouse. Could be that Apple makes these accessories many years in advance and they will eventually change to USB-C in about 2-3 years?

Did you have the Geek Bench and disk speed test scores for the M1 iMac? I’m interested in the comparison of the two.
as for the Sonoma bug thing... mine came with Ventura 13.5 too. I tried updating via the Software Updater but the update failed to install several times. I downloaded Sonoma from the App Store and I succeeded. But I am stuck in 14.1.1, I am a member of the public beta testing program but I couldn't upgrade to 14.2, at least not yet.

Please explain to me why having lightning connection on a keyboard or mouse is an issue especially when you have multiple lightning cables around.

How does the iMac 24 speakers compared vs MBP16 speakers?
I have heard lots of different reviews about this computer. I started with the 2009 iMac 27", then the 2017 iMac 27", and this one will be my next one. I will love this computer, just like my previous ones. I think all the negative reviews come from heavy TH-camrs who require high-end computers. But for a regular user like me, this will be a great upgrade.
I currently have an M2 MacBook Air. Would I be better to buy an external monitor for it, or go all out and get the M3 iMac? I’m trying to find information online and I can’t find it anywhere. No one has done any kind of deep dive into which is the better option?

Good Evening. I am considering purchasing a M3 iMac in the same configuration as the one you unboxed. 24 gb Ram with a 1Tb SSD. Could you perform some tasks & compare the iMac with a M1 Pro MacBook Pro with 16Gb Ram & 512 Gb SSD. I would almost a draw in overall performance. I have an ancient late 2009 iMac that I'm planning to replace with a specked out M3 iMac. I could not talk myself into getting aM1 iMac that was inferior to my laptop. I would appreciate it if you could do a comparision. Thanks.

I absolutely disliked the white bezels with a passion when the M1 iMac was launched,,,,,,now here I am on my M1 iMac in blue and I wouldn't change the white bezels at all, their great.
God it looks so, right…sometimes I just want to sell my MBP and get a iMac and MBA, but my MBP and iPad setup is just too good, specially with display….
The vents are speakers too
24GB RAM and 1TB SSD is exactly the configuration I’m considering for my new iMac. It would be interesting to know how different this configuration performs in comparison to the base 8/256. I’m assuming the upper tier iMac still has two fans like the previous M1.
Mine just arrived today with this configuration. I’m setting it up as we speak watching this video on my old 2011 Intel i5 😂

Yes. It's also simple.
There is still a 27" model called Apple Studio. So, it is not discontinued.
Thanks for the clip but I think it would be much more relevant as well as meaningful if you would compare M3 vs M2 and M1 rather than M3 vs M3 Pro and M3 Max.

Absolute joke they are not releasing a 27 inch, I do hope that’s because there’s a bigger one coming but seems more likely they are pushing people to a Mac mini or Mac Studio and their displays.

I recently got the blue one and I'm blown away by its power. I'm coming from hunching over a MB Air M1 on a desk so this is a nice step up!

Strange ? Have you not been following Apple for the past 5 years ? They do the bare minimum because they know people will buy simply because its new Apple with Apple marketing
I think they still have a lot of Lightning cables left over, so probably chose to design the M3 iMac with Lightning in order to clear out their inventory.
Does it really matter since the lightening is only used for charging anyway?

Still happy with my 27 in. iMac from 2020 with Intel processor. I was sure they’d change the charging for the mouse! It’s such a poor design. I’m so disappointed that they don’t offer a 27 inch version. More money!😢

Same i bought the 27# 2020 iMac maxed with 4TB SSD with 128GB.Ram frow OWC, unless they come out with a 27# iMac all in one apple silicon i am not upgrading! Don’t want a iMac studio + apple monitor separately, reason i moved from windows PC with monitor to just go back to the same set up with apple sucks….

They lineup with what I’ve seen online. Do you have to make sure you’re using Geekbench 6 though
Yes and my macbook air M2 base model is about 40000 in Metal test, M3 definitely should be higher. Maybe Macos in your iMac did some intense backgroud work while testing?
I'm honestly not sure why there are so many TH-cam videos unboxing a computer model that hasn't changed since it came out. The only differences is the M3 chip, which, .... is inside! Lol! it takes you half the video to get to that bit.

23% fewer screen pixels compared to 27" iMac, which for me is the biggest ding on these new models. Other than that it's a nice upgrade from either M1 or Intel. If you look at benchmarks there's not much difference between the M3 and the top M2 Pro Mac mini (some benchmarks favor one, some the other), so that's a bit disappointing - and an updated Mac mini next year with an M3 Pro chip might be more a more flexible choice for some people.
well, two days ago my iMac 24 M3 arrived, coming from a iMac 27 and yes you have to adapt to the smaller screen. Though the new one has a much higher resolution screen and so it compensate a bit the smaller size. After two days i don't want to switch anymore. This thing i s a joy to play and work with. Very happy in every way.
Just got my M3 iMac and after a few hours following transferring files from my old intel MacBook Pro I got the exclamation mark on the screen and message to contact Apple support. Wow talk about disappointing, Apple support couldn’t help and offered me a refund but now I have to drive 2 hours to Apple Store to try and get them to delete the files I transferred before getting m6 money back
Thanks for the update - 24" M3 will replace my 2017 iMac (Ventura being the last OS available for that vintage Mac) - looking forward to the delivery within the next few days. I did not spend Apple's rip off pricing for extra memory. These 023 M3s should come standard with 16mgs - Oh well
8GB is fine for a general consumer machine. 16GB would be good to get if you can afford at the time, and plan to have it for 7-10 years
@@leebeeskee Extra RAM also means less swapping to the SSD, which will make the SSD last longer. Even though 16Gb/24Gb is expensive, it's going to result in overall faster performance (esp with big apps or multiple apps running, or dozens of open browser tabs) and potentially longer life.

@@mrf9893and the iPod, OG white macs and white iPad. I love it. Black is trashy and cheap. All other electronic manufacturers use it and it makes products look generic. Apple used to be the positive outlier with silver metals, white and unique color options. Glad they still offer us consumers some choice!
What was Apple thinking with keeping the lightning cable connection, same with the placement on the magic mouse? Man sometimes it's pure amateurism there.
I imagine they just didn’t get around to redesigning those devices yet. But it is definitely overdue.

I have to disagree on the packaging. The actual iMac is upside down within the box compared to the photos on the front and sides. Previous models were in the exact same position. This one fell out of the box and there was no description or warning that it has to be opened laid down, horizontally.
