This jacket feels like a Free People, Love Shack Fancy inspired project. I love the final project but really love how you will be able to customize this to your taste.
You can remove the sleeves off anything - a blazer, jean jacket, sweatshirt, sweater, even a t-shirt!
All you have to do is use the existing sleeves as your pattern and you will be able to pop in a new sleeve seamlessly.
I thrifted a table cloths dn then dyed it to create a custom affect. To do the ombre look you will need a specific spray bottle (linked below)

A crazy idea I got from reading comments. Put the sleeves in with Velcro that way you could change out your sleeves for different ones.
Like the old zip off sleeves that turned the jacket into a vest
omg how fun!
Love your channel. Reminds me of me when I was young. I was 92 lbs and nothing fit me. I had very little money. My gramma taught me to sew and before long I made all my clothes. If someone asked if I made it, I never wore it again! I didn’t want people to know I had to make my own clothes. But learned so many cool things and developed great skills. I’m 70 now and still sew a lot of my own clothes and home decor! A shame many don’t know how to sew today, don’t you think??
Super cute. I'm "seeing" it with plaid sleeves, maybe distressed or bleached plaid. Thanks for the inspo.
omg yessss
I have my dad's 60 year old army jacket and have kept it for just such an inspiration as this. Really beautiful!
oh how special!!!!
My creative mind gets me to changing out the sleeves but not cropping it or fading the sleeves. Those extra steps made ALL the difference!!! You have such a gift♥️
oh man, thank you so much!
Your comment got me to thinking that if you put the sleeves in with Velcro then you could change them.
I love this channel. While I may not like the particular thing you are doing, it gives me ideas to make my wardrobe uniquely mine. Thank you!!! ❤️
thats the whole point! I'm so glad to hear that
pretty piece. loving the colour combo and juxtaposition of masculine army/feminine lace. adding the jacket cuff might look cool. FYI: Oxi-Clean stain remover powder in a pot of boiling water is a great way to remove stains and yellowing out of antique linen.
oooh thanks for the tip!
I am always amazed at how finished your final DIY projects look! The lil tips about how to leave the shoulder seam intact make all the difference!
Thank you! Yea it's those tiny little things that not only drive it home, but make the project way easier too!
I think this is so cute! I also did not like the original. You completely reinvented it!
thank you!
I love it, it's been a long time since I've been on but I transition to ny since my mother passed away. This past July 3rd was a yearly. Great idea
I remember a trip to Paris in 2002 when I saw this combo of army green and rose pink for the first time (for me). It was an eye-opener to me. It was fun to see it pop up later on in everyday fashion. Like the French were decades before everyone else.
Thank you I crochet so much and want to attach them to various clothing. My thing was being afraid to cut them. You inspire me to not be afraid but to just go forward and move on. Thank you for being amazing.
yes just go for it!!! so much better to actually enjoy and wear the beautiful things you've made then have them sitting in a pile! you got this!
YOU ATE THIS DIY WITH NO CRUMBS🥰🥰🥰
hahaha
I didn't think I would love this but I do! The ombre was a nice touch. I might try adding the sleve cuffs back on as well.
my jacket didn't really have cuffs, it was just folded and hemmed, but I love this idea if yours has cuffs!!
Top channel, amazing ideas and magnificent queen 👸 ❤
well this is the sweetest! thank you :)
Love Itttt. The pink umbre finish give a notch higher. Beautiful and cropped .❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏
Love it! I would add a deep V of crocheted material on the back, either over the coat or a cut out.
Fabulous! I loved the patches that's more me, so I'll go that route for sure!
love that!! please do it and show me so I can live THROUGh you. lol
You are incredibly talented and creative. I love how entertaining and informative each tutorial is and I have spent hours and hours watching your videos! It's time to try and make something! Wish me luck!
I'm obsessed! Love Love Love it and now I'm going to be on the hunt for the perfect jacket. I already have the table cloth that my Grandmother crocheted about 60 years ago.
no way!!! Oh man, your's will be even cooler!
Love this idea! I love the floral patch idea and thought it looked great! Just may have to go to my thrift store and see what they have. Smashed it out of the park as usual.
I agree: exceedingly cool with the floral patches! :)
hahha I was so torn!
@@OrlysChannel This may be the start of of another great design idea.. LOL! :)
Yet another garment added to my to-do pile! I have lots of stuff thrifted just nothing to use together lol
haha love it!
This is great. I have thick arms and my denim jacket is tight in the arm only and I’d love to replace the sleeves with a silk Jacquard brocade.
Oh my! Why am I doing here? Feeding my curiosity of course!!! I am 77 years young. I was born before my dad got home from WWII. Yup, a cute 1 month old. I have his army jacket hanging in my closet. Maybe I should embellish and wear!? I have done crazy things with denim jackets. Ok. Thinking. I really like your videos. The best!!!!
I really want to try this one! I might hit my thrift shop today 😊 Thanks Orly!!!
the mix of those materials and the colors makes such a statement! Very cool

Yes Orly!!!!!!!!!!! I love this❤. Thank you Thank you Thank you😁
thanks for watching!
Wish I still had my army jacket from the 70”s. Cool idea 😊
there are so many available at thrift, vintage and online stores. keep an eye out for one!
Super cute 😍
Great
I love this and can't wait to try it out. **I would also love to know how to add sleeves to raglan shirts/dresses (not T-shirt or stretch fabric) I would like to put sleeves similar to what you've done into a sleeveless halter/raglan top or dress - because I hate my arms and need to cover them and prefer crocheted or Brioderie Anglaise fabric sleeves so they are cool to wear in the hot Australian summer... *and would love to know how to alter pants when you've got a flat bum..... I understand you don't have a flat bum but wondered if you have a Tips anyway (maybe you have a friend with a flatbottom LOL!).😅i really enjoy your videos thank you!!!
Great DYI...I look forward to Your DYI on Sunday...
Question: Did You have DYI Last Sunday...I have been looking All Over for it?
Thanks for Another Inspirational DYI...still looking for a Lace Tablecloth so I can Do Your DYI Skirt...I just will keep Looking Around...
You Have an Fantastic Week...😃
Im so sorry, I missed last week. We had a destination, family wedding and I wasn't able to get a DIY shot in advance
First time in forever I'm not watching a vid the day it dropped?? What happened 😩 I love it obviously 🙌🏻
I love it
YOU are AMAZING 👏 ❤️ 💖 💕
Love it
That is cute.
New to your channel❤ binge watching for thrifting ideas. You are so creative, and your style is similar to mine. Quick question...when you are using your sewing machine can you show the stitch type on the machine? I have a machine but no idea how or when to use all those types of stitches.
Super inspiring! You did it again! Such a fun look! Can’t wait to try this for an autumn/winter piece. Too hot here. Anyway, quick execution question about the minutia of the sewing part. Did you use a heavy duty needle? The jacket seam must have been thick, so, did you sew slow? Thank you again for sharing your genius
I LOVE this idea. You had a past videos on military upcycles. Could you share links to other videos. There was one I recently viewed that was a military shirt you cut off. You may gave altered the sleeves.
Love love love it! Also love your shoes, do you mind giving the brand? Thanks!
I love it ❤
Orly, how do you make the ombre effect in the sleeves? You sprayed something on them but I wasn't sure what that was. Thanks for the most original ideas on youtube!
Awesomeness!
Love it!!❤
That is flipping adorable! ❤
LOVE IT!!!
im not a fan of this one BUT you did great at showing us how💜👍
I love it! So cute!! Have you done a video making straight leg jeans into bell bottoms? If so, please link. Ty.
I've done a no-sew one! It's on my channel, if you just search Orly Shani Bell Bottoms, you'll find it!
