Swayle and his mod makers are also now actively changing the code they initially stole AND have taken down many mods they made that were stolen code. Swayle is a teenager, and he makes mistakes that adults obviously wouldn't do. He's apologized and took proper action to fix what he did. He's also not copying other content creators anymore (from what I know.) I think so long as Swayle doesn't go BACK to stealing code/copying people, then he's fine, and you're fine for interacting with him and playing mods his team made. All love ❤

Personally, gun mods 100% depend on the setting, in my opinion. Hunting/wilderness? sure! Just playing minecraft? nah With the Swayle stuff, it doesn't feel like you're chasing cloat or anything. I also agree that people make mistakes and can change!

The fact that this is the new golden age for horror Minecraft makes me hopeful of the horror mods we’ll see in the future. 000.jar is really good because it relies on just making the game just straight up unnerving to play with the random events that happen instead of one singular being that gets stale over time. One thing i really like about your videos is that you don't immediately pillar up or dig 3 blocks underground and put a block over you, you actually try to fight back or run and don't make the video boring like a lot of these other TH-camrs do. Keep it up man!

Gun mods would definitely be personal choice. When I play with gun mods I usually have other more modern aesthetic mods with it. So maybe have a series that has guns and one that doesn't? Up to you. A trick shot montage just sounds like fun I would gladly watch that as a shorter video or a clip in one of your main vids. Just have fun with it and do what you like. You're doing a good job.

Gun mods take away from the fear the mods create. I personally try not to have too much "modern tech" in the modpacks I put together for myself and my friends.
I think this mod could be added to the “into the darkness” series. It isn’t super invasive, it doesn’t kill you out right, and has a good amount of creep factor. If this mod gets some updates to fix the audio bugs and such, I think it’s a slam dunk for that series

yes jim, when you log out and log back in it gives you a few seconds of spawn protection. so tip: if you ever fall into a deep lava pit in the nether just keep logging in and out and you’ll be able to escape. it does take a bit of time but its worth it especially if you have valuables on you
Im personally not into gun mods... idk why? it just seems like guns are the point of no return, like where Minecraft doesn't really feel like Minecraft anymore. Or maybe its just that what makes these mods at all effective is that you are kind of helpless, scary things are less scary when you can just shoot them in the face. Might just be me tho! I agree. Gun mods are not my thing either. I think it kind of takes away something special from the game to play with guns. Although admittedly, I am ashamed to admit I did download a gun mod because I got frustrated with the Mi Alliance mod. That mod is way above my skill level but I wanted to play with it anyway. and I ended up dying so many times from trying to keep the Mis from building a colony too close to my base that I ended up downloading a gun mod and blasting them all with a machine gun. I recognize my weakness and I am not proud of it.

Gun mods are great, especially Timeless and Classics Zero. Pair it up with some mods that add Wendigos/Skinwalkers/cryptids (like the Critters n' Crawlers mod) for some cryptid hunting action. Also if you haven't, I highly recommend checking out the Starving Skeleton mod. It adds giant skeletons to the game, and it's awesome. Also wanted to say keep up the great work, i found your channel a few weeks ago and I enjoy your content!

I personally love gun mods. Particularly in horror modpacks, they just enhance the survival horror aspect for me. Yes, they give you a pretty good fighting chance against some of the entities, which just raises the stakes as you stand to lose that fighting chance. I feel it also enhances the tension in the early minutes where you don’t have gun and are risking yourself to gather the resources to make them. Not to mention the constant reminder to make and conserve ammo. Plus it kinda makes encountering entities that guns DON’T work on all the more scary and exciting.
Don’t worry about talking too much, it’s part of what makes your content unique and enjoyable. people want to watch you enjoying yourself and having fun. You want to enjoy yourself and have fun. Win win

I think I understand how the entity works now (kinda). If the entity can see you, and there's no blocks in the way, it will force you to look at you, and as you've discovered, if you stare at it for too long, it will attack you. However, if there's blocks in the way of you and the entity, it can't see you and can't force you to look at it. Therefore you should be safe from it until it despawns. (This is just my theory of how it works, since I don't know fully.)

The gun mod is a great idea but it also has it's pro's and con's. idk about anyone else, but id love to see a gun mod, i THINK u start with one, but if not, you should give yourself one. maybe a glock, or deagle? but you need to craft a gun table, with a few blocks of iron, (i think its 2). and some wood, that helps you craft ammo, and guns. BUT it puts a good use to copper. im sure you knew this already but just wanna make sure:)

As many people say, I think gun mods are about vibes more or less, what are you trying to go for exactly? If it's just Minecraft but scary, it might not work, as guns clash with Minecraft's style, if it's more of a wilderness realistic survival thing, then yeah sure, it works well, pairing gun mods with general difficulty mods like temperature or thirst mods (Thirst was taken, Cold Sweat/Tough as Nails) feels like it balances out to me, since the game is generally harder to survive while giving you tools that can help you survive the horror mods, it's about striking a balance of difficulty to make sure the helplessness is still there, while not making things too difficult to the point it becomes frustrating, if done well it can make the game generate a lot of dread.
whoa - i play rlcraft and the shaderpack it comes with is a branch of complementary! how did you manage that fog, it is glorious and now i wanna try too! ;A; gun mods are pretty context dependent for me. i've always kinda found them in the same category for me as the hallucinatory plants mod, just something silly that's mostly fun with friends. like, guns in minecraft is just inherently a little silly to me, and i think it could be funny with some of the bs this modpack throws at you. humor and horror often go hand in hand, after all. :P if it's something you like, and think you could both have a nice time with and make fun to watch, go for it! though don't be surprised if it turns out to only work best as an occasional silly treat. also if it's any consolation, how you opened the boiled one video is probably the best i've seen so far. it was really cinematic and cool! even if you don't mess with that one anymore, i would def consider try more of that sort of thing!
Honestly I think it depends on the specific gun mod itself. Some are pretty balanced for vanilla gameplay and others aren't. I think they fit decently well with horror mods, especially when you have modern structures in the videos, but you have to be careful with the specific mod you use.
Btw I reccomend this mod called "ore excavator" it is a vein miner rthat can mine anything. u hold down a button in exchange, it takes ur durability on ur tool or takes ur hunger if ur using ur fist

Suggestion if you dont already, maybe invest in a external drive solely for recordings 1-2tb. Maybe use handbrake if you wanna compress your footage to a lower file size, make sure to use good settings tho to not lose too much quality. Also imo guns would kinda ruin the fun of horror mods, making it less intense/scary. Of course its your decision though.

yes jim, when you log out and log back in it gives you a few seconds of spawn protection. so tip: if you ever fall into a deep lava pit in the nether just keep logging in and out and you’ll be able to escape. it does take a bit of time but its worth it especially if you have valuables on you
Im personally not into gun mods... idk why? it just seems like guns are the point of no return, like where Minecraft doesn't really feel like Minecraft anymore. Or maybe its just that what makes these mods at all effective is that you are kind of helpless, scary things are less scary when you can just shoot them in the face. Might just be me tho! Do what sparks joy for you and the rest of the community.

I agree. Gun mods are not my thing either. I think it kind of takes away something special from the game to play with guns.
Although admittedly, I am ashamed to admit I did download a gun mod because I got frustrated with the Mi Alliance mod. That mod is way above my skill level but I wanted to play with it anyway. and I ended up dying so many times from trying to keep the Mis from building a colony too close to my base that I ended up downloading a gun mod and blasting them all with a machine gun. I recognize my weakness and I am not proud of it.
@nyancatpoptart5441 Understandable, but there are times where guns mods feel necessary to use maybe a infection mod, a zombie apocalypse, tech mods, and much more.
But I feel muskets fit in more in vanilla.
@@AverageUsernames Yeah if you wanted to recreate a more Left For Dead type feel to the game, gun mods are good for that. But in my case though, I was just playing regular Minecraft and getting frustrated by a bunch of white slimes building a hostile city in my backyard.

Gun mods are great, especially Timeless and Classics Zero. Pair it up with some mods that add Wendigos/Skinwalkers/cryptids (like the Critters n' Crawlers mod) for some cryptid hunting action.
Also if you haven't, I highly recommend checking out the Starving Skeleton mod. It adds giant skeletons to the game, and it's awesome.
Also wanted to say keep up the great work, i found your channel a few weeks ago and I enjoy your content!
Personally, gun mods kind of turn me off of the videos, I just feel like it doesn't fit with the rest of Minecraft, it feels a little too industrial, yk? Also, love the yapping, keep it up. You are by far my favorite youtuber right now.

I personally love gun mods. Particularly in horror modpacks, they just enhance the survival horror aspect for me. Yes, they give you a pretty good fighting chance against some of the entities, which just raises the stakes as you stand to lose that fighting chance. I feel it also enhances the tension in the early minutes where you don’t have gun and are risking yourself to gather the resources to make them. Not to mention the constant reminder to make and conserve ammo.
Plus it kinda makes encountering entities that guns DON’T work on all the more scary and exciting.

I think I understand how the entity works now (kinda). If the entity can see you, and there's no blocks in the way, it will force you to look at you, and as you've discovered, if you stare at it for too long, it will attack you. However, if there's blocks in the way of you and the entity, it can't see you and can't force you to look at it. Therefore you should be safe from it until it despawns.
(This is just my theory of how it works, since I don't know fully.)

The gun mod is a great idea but it also has it's pro's and con's. Too much of it becomes boring and it can result into not being creative in the making of your videos, but i do love the concept of using the guns simply because most of the horror mods have an insane amounts of health and damage reduction. Love the vid, i've seen every one of your videos on your yt channel. And keep yapping i personally love it and everyone else aswell and be you ❤.
Extra: About the Swayle situations i've seen pretty much a lot of lying and copying of certain creator's such as for instance Calvin's (idk if he apologized) but other than that stay safe man.

idk about anyone else, but id love to see a gun mod, i THINK u start with one, but if not, you should give yourself one. maybe a glock, or deagle? but you need to craft a gun table, with a few blocks of iron, (i think its 2). and some wood, that helps you craft ammo, and guns. BUT it puts a good use to copper. im sure you knew this already but just wanna make sure:)

I've never really liked gun mods personally, idk why but it kind of takes away from the fantasy part of Minecraft that makes me like it so much if that makes sense? It's your channel though so do what makes you happy obviously

As many people say, I think gun mods are about vibes more or less, what are you trying to go for exactly? If it's just Minecraft but scary, it might not work, as guns clash with Minecraft's style, if it's more of a wilderness realistic survival thing, then yeah sure, it works well, pairing gun mods with general difficulty mods like temperature or thirst mods (Thirst was taken, Cold Sweat/Tough as Nails) feels like it balances out to me, since the game is generally harder to survive while giving you tools that can help you survive the horror mods, it's about striking a balance of difficulty to make sure the helplessness is still there, while not making things too difficult to the point it becomes frustrating, if done well it can make the game generate a lot of dread.
whoa - i play rlcraft and the shaderpack it comes with is a branch of complementary! how did you manage that fog, it is glorious and now i wanna try too! ;A;
gun mods are pretty context dependent for me. i've always kinda found them in the same category for me as the hallucinatory plants mod, just something silly that's mostly fun with friends. like, guns in minecraft is just inherently a little silly to me, and i think it could be funny with some of the bs this modpack throws at you. humor and horror often go hand in hand, after all. :P if it's something you like, and think you could both have a nice time with and make fun to watch, go for it! though don't be surprised if it turns out to only work best as an occasional silly treat.
also if it's any consolation, how you opened the boiled one video is probably the best i've seen so far. it was really cinematic and cool! even if you don't mess with that one anymore, i would def consider try more of that sort of thing!

Honestly I think it depends on the specific gun mod itself. Some are pretty balanced for vanilla gameplay and others aren't. I think they fit decently well with horror mods, especially when you have modern structures in the videos, but you have to be careful with the specific mod you use.

I think a one off video with gun mods would be cool. But playing with gun mods really defeats the difficulty of the game

Suggestion if you dont already, maybe invest in a external drive solely for recordings 1-2tb. Maybe use handbrake if you wanna compress your footage to a lower file size, make sure to use good settings tho to not lose too much quality. Also imo guns would kinda ruin the fun of horror mods, making it less intense/scary. Of course its your decision though.
