Thanks for the tip! I'm also having issues with the popcorn coming with a Stale or chewy texture. I'm using fresh kernels and I do make sure to open the lid immediately so the Steam won't make it soggy or soft.

How about better quality control and getting the height right before it leaves the factory!

Good tip but why aren't the stirring rods at the correct height to begin with?

Henry Benson - DJ Mezziaz - Thank you! This is something which the manufacturer should make certain is handled before the product leaves the warehouse.

They changed to a cheaper metal on the newer ones and the popcorn doesn't turn out like it should. You call or email customer service and they dance around and tell you this or that, adjust this or that etc. The first 2 I had we wore out. The 3rd is not any good chewy stale tasting popcorn no matter what.

I'm considering one of these machines and your video was super helpful. Thank you and Happy Popping!

I just did everything you said. No unpopped kernels but burnt popcorn and pot.

No,no,no…..loosen the set screw on the arm at the gear. Then lower the rod to the correct height. You may have to turn the rod counterclockwise to lower it. Then retighten the set screw. DO NOT BEND THE WIRES.

Theere's no sound near the end of the video. And why don't they make some sort of dimple or divot in the bottom center of the pan, so that the rod isn't drilling it's way through the bottom, creating metal shavings? Or am I wrong about the metal shavings? Doesn't it make a "claws on a chalkboard" sound as it does this?

Heh ... Mine doesn't do that, at all. My "stir wires" make a quiet swish-swish sound as they turn and very lightly touch the bottom of the empty pan. Since my pan produces perfectly-popped corn, I'm going to obey venerable engineering maxin: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

You might see if there's a way to adjust the vertical position of the rod. Is there any chance that the bottom of the pot has been forced upwards somehow? The pan is a light-gauge aluminum, so it's pretty easy to damage.

@@thomasstambaugh5181 - Thank you for mentioning of it's made out of aluminum which I was curious about.
For your health tip in case you didn't know or forgot - Foods cooked in Aluminum are unsafe for our health.
Therefore it would have been smart if it's made out of stainless.

Well... if one had a hammer, the aluminum pan is marked where the dimple ought to be... I'd think you could put something rounded (like the end of a broom stick, or a 1/2" wood dowel looking thing (rounded at the end in any case), then put the pot on to a firm but yielding surface (I would use a lead block, or thick rubber block, maybe a chunk of modeling clay if those aren't around? Put the round part of the dowel firmly on the center spot which has been clearly marked by the scraping, and give it a light tap with the hammer. You should be able to make a custom dimple that will give you the popper of your dreams!

Is there a motorised version of the pot?
    Manual cranking could be stressful

Not sure why this contraption is even needed. I just use a regular sauce pan, put the oil on the bottom and pour in the popcorn and give it a few toss to evenly coat the corn with oil. Fire up the burner on the stove to medium high heat and let the show begin. Let the corn pop until there is no popping over 10 seconds and remove sauce pan from the burner. Every one of the kernals are popped and with no burning either!
