I have it but the blu-rays are missing so I had to buy the standard original set the put the blu-rays in it... I don't have anything of the Golden Animation but it wasn't great compared to the original
was not expecting to see something like this topic pop up in my recommendations but i am more than glad someone covered it! lovely insight to the sad lack of genuine preservation of such a great adaption
saw this pop up on my feed, and didnt expect it at all- makes me a little bit lucky to have found a TH-cam channel back then that had uploaded all the episodes of P4A and downloaded it all i guess it also shows how we may appreciate something only once its gone / inaccessible to us, because for me, P4A was how i got into Persona as a whole, and also make love how faithful yet unique P4A is to the game (especially in how it fleshed out how most people saw Narukami, and even Adachi by giving subtle details; Narukami's response to Nanako's circumstances and Adachi's fight with Narukami taking place in Dojima's house (though the latter is more of a P4G version exclusive)) but yeah- im just glad i have downloaded P4A while i still could
P4G re-release on Steam or all new-gen consoles last year would had been the best opportunities to bring it back, but sadly neither of them happened. Even worse is that they keep taking down videos on the internet despite the anime not being available to legally buy it/see it. A lot of clips from the anime have been taking down on TH-cam, same with the OPs/ED. It's a shame because P4A is one of the best examples of video game adaptations to another media, especially considering from a game whose average playtime (speaking of the OG PS2 version) can go up to more than 70 hours.
Its messed up that legitimate access to the series could just fall through the void like that. Sailing the seas is more than justified for this one when the only alternatives are paying off overpriced scalpers or using a time machine.
it isn't the complete faithful just one of the best. They obviously had to cut things from the original game to obviously changing some of the original cast such if you played the PS2 version outside of Japan Chie's English VA is her Golden one.
If all these shows can just vanish without a trace, who’s to say the same won’t happen to the Internet, one day? DVD and Blu Ray already seem to be on their way out.
Im so glad i was able to get it myself for christmas, just to have some bit of a collection of anime for me to have. Plus i really love the show and how well they did it. It a damn shame that you can't watch it anymore offically.😢
Tell me about it! I want to watch the animation, but I can’t without pirating it! There is no where to stream it and to buy the DVDs I have to pay an insane amount of money!
@@J122J95 for me the issue is I can only do that from my computer, and the places im most comfortable watching tv is on a tv or on my phone in bed, and with pirating neither of those are an option however p4a was worth it, very good show and a great adaptation of one of my favorite games
I remember when all that went on about the Blu-Ray not having the sub to avoid reverse importation. Just curious, is the Golden anime in the same situation?
Things are a little different for the Golden Animation. It was released on Blu-ray in 2015, without a dub, and those two collections are now out of print. But you can still watch the series on Crunchyroll.
I just happened to buy this show on Amazon Prime Video ages ago. I’d never played any of the games but just bought it because the animation looked so good. So I still have access to it on Amazon but I have heard stories of them pulling access even to shows people had purchased. So I am kinda nervous.😅
Legit had an itching to watch it again but in HD, so I had to bite the bullet and get the Blu-ray. Wanted to get the DVD so I could have both Sub & Dub, but it was twice the price.😢
btw for those of you who got it on Amazon, y'all do realize Amazon nukes stuff from library in certain situations right? Yeah, it might be in your library NOW, but what about in a few years?
Damn, I've been playing through P4 and I was looking forward to watching it but this isn't a very good sign. Has this changed in the months since? Are there any good places to watch? I've seen clips on youtube but I want to see the whole thing when I'm done with the game.
The only version of P4 that is available is golden version which is the same thing but it's 12 episodes instead of 25 and has Marie in each one. It's ok not my favorite personally
At this point, only way to watch it is to pirate it, as spending $300+ on one show is not worth it. The Golden version of the show that is still available on official Anime platforms is arguably the worst version of the series.
@@Gmanhenejen It's not really the same thing, it attempts to be the same story with added content but in reality it is not made for someone to experience said story. They skip most of the actual games plot in favor of only showing the new stuff, and if someone does want to watch it I only recommend it after playing the game or watching the original anime.
I just finished Persona 4 a few weeks ago, and I got really excited when I heard that it had an anime. That excitement died out really soon when I couldn’t find it anywhere. I only got into Persona this year…
man I hope someone can pick up the rights to this one day, I'd love to buy it physical. Maybe if Atlus ever decides to remake P4 something like this can happen again.
The funny thing is. I was watching episode 23 earlier a few weeks ago. Thanks to Persona 4 the Animation, I became a Persona fan
Never appreciated how lucky I was to grab a Collector’s Edition Blu-ray when I did. I just wanted a copy and saw it at a reasonable price.

Thankfully, I purchased both seasons on Amazon a couple years ago and still have access to them.
I did too, but I’m unable to watch them.
I was referring to Prime Video, if you’re not referring to that, then carry on.
I purchased them also and now can't watch them at all.

More worryingly, pretty much all videos on it other than reviews or funny moment compilations are nowhere to be found as well, at least on youtube...
Its messed up that legitimate access to the series could just fall through the void like that. Sailing the seas is more than justified for this one when the only alternatives are paying off overpriced scalpers or using a time machine.

The collectors edition is expensive ranging from 800 used to almost 2000 new on ebay.

tbf now that its not available anywhere, pirating it wouldnt hurt actual sales in any way so its morally correct now
@@J122J95 Yeah, I guess so. It just sucks that most pirating websites are extremely sketchy! I don’t want a virus or something!

@jessm.sandler7187 it doesn’t work all that comfortably on mobile especially since a majority of sites have pop ups and ads
