The world needs shirts from u, with the big sentence "if that makes sense!" on it. Would take it immediately, most heard and loveliest sentence from u. And thanks for this vid and all before, always getting new ideas and inspiration. The only thing is, I can't watch that fast, like u upload videos 😅
Some ideas to counter too much trial and error: Go for flat 7ths, 3rds, flat 3rds and 9ths - funky funky :) Maybe blues scale too - minor pentatonic with extra flat 5th (think Stevie Wonder Superstition riff). You get a cromatic run 4th, flat 5th and 5th available with this as well as single incidental funky flat 5th "blue note". Avoid perfect 4th and perfect 5th moves (e.g. C-F, C-G) - boring and predictable. Use 3rds, flat 3rds, 7ths, flat 7ths and 9ths (aka 2nds) as passing notes to get to 4ths and 5ths. Dunno how this would work with Psytrance per se, but it works with practically everything else so maybe worth a whirl :)
I have a suggestion for yet another bassline tutorial. It's the one from "Younger Brother - Psychic Gibbon (Protoculture RMX)". Starts at roughly 1 minute in. It has such a nice vibe to it, but as of yet I have hardly been able to recreate it.
How does the scissor tool compare to like in Ableton, I guess what I'm asking is is what tool would I use that would be equivalent to scissors in Ableton
Nice video as always! I still have a general question about the bass line: when Im building a bass line with different notes (of course in a right pattern) and put an EQ on it so the root note comes more out, all other notes seem to sound really unsatisfying to me. Can anyone maybe give me some pro tips to make every bass note sound like it really fits in the mix? Because always having the same note is quite boring :D. Thanks for any recommendations! Keep going Dash!
Resample the notes with individual EQs, or use a frequency responsive EQ (I find these to be less accurate) or just find the right settings that works for the entire sum of notes rather than just the root, you could also look at the Partial frequencies that make up the sound on an additive level, rather than EQing
@@Bodinski97 I was actually busy scheduling the next few weeks videos when the notification came through :) great timing haha, I've got a video on how I achieved it in UVI Falcon, you can achieve similar with Ableton instrument rack etc
im just getting into making music but im music so im loving it and realy am glad your on you tube should have been doing this a decade ago would have been happier been a show and burner party goer mostly to make money befor i got sober ish but i think had been doing this music thing i would have had a much better time and enjoyed myself a lot more iv always loved music more than most just alway got discuraged and though i was the shit but now i realize i was playing myself this is all want to do now that im free
Hi Mykael, awesome thanks for the support! I've looked now and I think I didn't update the tags when Patreon put in the tag system, if you look under the MIDI tags on Patreon it will be easy to find :) let me know if that doesn't work
Nice video dude ! Thank you ! Ahah did you start again the loop at the end of the vid' because you coughed and did not want to ruin the final drop ? xD
Hey Dash nice Video! Only Thing I dont understand is how to EQ these Goovy Bassline? Every Note by itself with one EQ each or is there a smarter Way for the best result? Best regards!
@@DashGlitch funny thing is Cubase/Nuendo was a big part of my life, well it still is because my office uses Nuendo but at home I started using Bitwig and Reaper for audio mix work and my video editor Davinci Resolve has Fairlight built in which is super powerful and now there's no use of Cubase/Nuendo... A year back I would not even imagine
mhm sounds not bad but if i want to use the same bass on different notes i usually bounce it to audio and do different eqing otherwise it sounds a little bit out of tune...
6 years later it still worked :)
Really good! This will make bass patterns and ideas much easier to create, time to go and play with Lego :)
Have fun! 😃
I liked how constructive your approach was! Cheers from Toronto!
Thanks man 😃✌️ cheers

Sounds much like ajja style bass, not in terms of the colour of the bass but the rhythm and the composition.
I guess squelches also have to do with that ajja sound.
Play the music!
*Me encanta el punchis punchis del psytrance :'v*

Tune? You mean phase?
i loved your techno id bump you in my whip on the daily if you made more and made it available.. my house is your house and your house is mine $\
all i want is for people to feel loved and help put people back together who need and the rist i want to dance there asses off to the 303
For my ears some of your bass notes are out of tune
Strange, they're all in C Minor, a very common scale
They are not out of scale, they are not out of tune. They are just dissonant towards one another..
