    Here is an update of how my Thai Constellation is doing after cutting of all the roots back in early October due to root rot. I never imagined she would be looking so good today!!! Watch how much the roots have grown in 3 months and the transfer from water to soil. Happy to be able to make this video! Thanks for your support! 💚🌱👍

    THANK YOU! I just discovered the root rot in my Monstera Thai 2 days ago and watched your videos last night and I did EXACTLY what you did in your initial video. I had a heart attack when I saw all the rot and it was painful to cut 90% of the roots. Fortunately mine did not advance to the stem and I caught it as soon as a slight yellowing showed up, but seeing these results you are giving me TONS of hope! THANK YOU for sharing such detailed experience and with so much honesty! Hard to find "real" people's experiences with their plants as many only show their "success" and how "easy" it is to care for them. We need more people like you that shows that the struggle IS REAL :) - Greetings from Germany!

      Just quick consultation if I may. Have you encountered some info on rooting it in water vs. sphagnum moss? After cleaning the roots and putting rooting hormone, I put it in moss instead of water, just 'cause I am so afraid the rot will come back if submerged in water 😬

      @@moritz_k Hey! So happy my video and experience has given you hope! Seams like you detected it early so that’s a big plus!!! I have not yet tried sphagnum moss on my Monstera’s only on propagating string of hearts. I was also debating wether to put it in water or sphagnum because of the same reason you mentioned, thinking it could rot in water because it’s water! Buy a good friend reminded me that water is made of hydrogen and OXYGEN so that protects it. Of course, there is still some cases where there has been root rot in water propagations and even sphagnum...why? 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s what makes is so nerve racking. I chose water also because my plant was already so dehydrated and I wanted to drink up before all the leaves were fried...I also enjoyed being able to watch closely the roots to monitor any future root rot or root growth. So that was my rationale! This definitely is a learning game! Best wishes!🌱🪴💚

    Thanks for the update! I think you have a great plan for that plant. I love the soil and starting out with the smaller terracotta pot. One suggestion, I would pull it up in a month or so to see how root bound it is. With it being so healthy and that many roots it's probably going to explode in growth. I wouldn't be afraid to bump it up to the next size pot... I look forward to seeing it grow into a mature plant on your channel!

      @@plantheartbeats Thank you! Now that the neaw leaf is sticking out more, I saw that it is rotted on some parts (I think that is because I notice the problem too late), but I thing the leaf after that it will be fine. Yesterday I also noticed, tha it has at least 3 axillary buds (growth points). I can not tell you, how excited I was. It has a potential to grow into a beautiful bushy plant, I just need to save those damn roots. 🤧😁

  • @lgarden7086

    I thought it was best to keep moist for a couple weeks so it transitions from water to the soil. Loved the plant and the pot you put it in...if the pot is new I might soak it in water before using it so it doesn’t draw too much moisture from the soil. I liked your tip about keeping the roots out of the light. I have a monstera rooting in water and i am adding soil to the water before I pot it up in soil so I guess the roots are now out of light. 👍I love trying new things; I saw this method on another channel 🤞Good luck with you plant it’s beautiful!

    • @plantheartbeats

      Thanks for the tips! I think I am going to put a moisture meter in there and water it before it hits dry...makes sense! Hope yours transitions with great success!💚👍

    I thought you had to keep it more on the moist side because it rooted in water . So instead of letting it dry out keeping it more moist so you can transition it slower. Please do more research you did such a great job so far. Good luck.

    • @plantheartbeats
      @plantheartbeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@plantheartbeats I too heard if you’ve had a plant in water for a bit it should stay on the moist side as you pot it in soil,because they are water roots and slowly taper off. I agree, you’ve done an amazing job saving this beauty….. I found a Monstera Aurea Variegata inside a large monster at a nursery about a month ago! I’ve been subbed to you for about a year now anyways, but this content was just perfect for me! I am still in shock about my find! Seriously so excited! Your plants are all beautiful! Good luck with her! She’s beautiful ❤️❤️❤️

    4:26. You added rooting hormone to the plant roots 😊

    • @plantheartbeats
      @plantheartbeats  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually ended up washing it off the rooting hormone and then placed it back in clean water..seams like it won’t stay on it anyways if you put it on and then place in water. A friend suggested I wash it off to try to make sure the water was as clean as possible. Any ways, it rooted very good!💚
