The title made me curious... But a few seconds into it I realized I'd been duped into watching someone set up & prime a siphon. Well done mate.
Exactly, he seals off both bottom pipes and pours water into the top to prime. Then seals the top end off and opens up the bottom pipes.
Anyone who has taken fuel out of a car already knew this. Also anyone who has changed water in an aquarium. I learned how to take fuel when I was 9. Long before the Internet was a thing. Old news.

It this can be applied to continuous filled ponds then to a hydropower plant configuration. 🤔... I don't know I'm not that smart.
@@Neildo430ci Nothing new happening here, hydroelectricity is just a way to extract the potential energy of water flowing downhill, the system pictured is just a simple "auto siphon" of sorts, where the water is very much flowing downhill, you could easily reverse and old washing machine motor or the like to convert the motion of the water into the motion of electrons across a circuit. What I don't fully understand is why he used 2 junctions instead of one, as the weight of the water in the "down" pipe after being manually filled is what provides the "suction" in the "up" pipe coming from the river, this is a great way to irrigate a low lying field, but the crops in any such field would need to be fully flood-resistant, as they lie below the river, which won't always hold its course.

Im 67 years old. When i was young in the 1960s we would drain entire ponds with 4 four inch plastic pipes like this. After water was 90 percent gone we would take all the fish out snd have a community fish fry to raise money for our church. Once the pond refilled we'd restock fish and do again in 3-4 years.

When i ws 12, i used to siphon petrol from my mothers car, so i could drive my paddock car, the only difference was i had no primer, so occasionally received a mouthful of petrol, good job.😊😊😊🌏
As a kid, many of us siphoned gas at one time or another. We also all got gas in our mouth. Stuff kids would have no clue about now.

@CEREBRALKILLER I don't recall having seen clear hose back in my day, early 60's. I'm sure I would have used it if I had, like I use one of those proper syphon hoses now, you know, the ones with the ball valve in them, you simply shake them in the fuel till it starts running. Amazing things. Thanks for your reply, you must be much younger than me. Good to see people are still syphoning petrol for paddock bombs.😊🌏
@@hippopotaman075 Same here. We used whatever was long and could siphon gas. Most of the time, it was an old skinny radiator hose or a garden hose. Clear tubing was not popular, yet.

If you fill a garden hose with water, and simultaneously drop one end into water and the other at a lower elevation,
the gravity-fed water running out of the pipe will create low pressure and air will push the elevated water source
into the pipe.
This works best with 2 people.
His system eliminates the need for the 2nd person.
Simple yet brilliant. I see you solved the problem of the mouth full of dirty water.
There is no human on the planet with the lung capacity to draw that much water through that diameter of pipe.
It doesn't filter.
And it's just gravity flowing the water.

You can get attached to go in a battery powered drill to pump water.
Start the siphon and let it flow. Quicker than spending half an hour or more setting this up.
Ну и что удивительного ? Кто бензин из бака машины через шланг сливал - тот делал тоже самое : создать вакуум для начала перепада давления , а уже потом атмосферное давление создает движени воды в сторону меньшего давлкния . Так будет пока уровень давлений не сравняется .

обычно просто над колодцем или прудом ставится на высоких опорах герметически закрытая бочка, заранее заполненая водой через воронку с краном, в которую сверху заходит приточная труба из колодца, а за счёт обьёма воды в бочке и длинной исходящей магистрали вес отходящей воды засасывает воду приточной, более короткой трубой!
Всё элементарно, Ватсон, работает без применения электроэнергии и электронасосов! Идея гениальная по своей простоте, а я то думал, придется мне на огород воду с оврага гидроударом подымать!

Sorry but not correct.
An aqueduct moves water from higher level to lower levels by means of man made canals and without “lifting”.
This is a siphon. It moves water over an obstacle higher than the initial water level. Naming it an aqueduct will mislead.

It will work when you're farm is lower than the river or irrigation,but if it in reverse area it will not work, it's useless,it operates on the principle of gravitation.😊

You don't need that huge pipe system for that... The water is above the level you want to carry to... You can even see the tubes going downward in the video... 😅 Just make a ditch in the ground and simply let the gravity do all the work... 🤷🏻♂️

@@ephraimojima4582 that's the point. The area he is "pumping" to is below the water line. That's why it's a syphon, not a pump. It uses atmospheric pressure to transfer water. If it went upwards, no water would come out on the other end. It's using the Archimedes principle.
If it wasn't, this would be a perpetuum mobile. Those don't exist in the real world...

Мне интересно что блять за трубы у них такие. Да еще и доступны во всех этих роликах каждому. Тут в ванную туалет поменять пластик охереваешь от ценников. Сам когда делал еще больше ушло бабок, чем нанимать, потому что пришлось покупать инструменты и сам материал. Плюс было несколько неудач)) А тут трубы вставил, соплями смазал и оно еще и воду качает
Не качает.Вода течет самотеком.Смотрите внимательней-уривень воды в канале явно выше уровня земли за дамбой.
Труба ПВХ на клею монтируется. Чел просто времянку собрал без клея для видео

Engineering wise, it's correct that you will get water to flow in that manner
