Okay, I love Titan and was going to stick by it, but you've changed my mind. Seeing the side by side comparaison with the Q10 sold me... I do love Titan but sometimes it's a clunky brick.
I've always wondered, because I have a bb bold... is it hard to hold onto the Key2 when typing because the keyboard is right at the bottom? In terms of the weight, I am used to having a keyboard that goes halfway up the phone, and it makes it easier for me to hang on to with my small hands. Even on dreaded screen keyboards, the keyboard goes a third of the way up the phone. I know in an earlier video, you said that there were some uncomfortable edges on the Titan that might give you callouses. Yet, your videos about the Titan, and especially today's video about the keyboard... it looks like it has the same kind of "balance" as the Bold and Classic. I wondered if the Key2 is more top-heavy to hold and type at the same time for longer messages, or do people just adjust eventually?
On the KEY2, it definitely is more top-heavy than the old BlackBerry phones, but not so much so that you can't get used to it. You do adjust eventually. This Titan pocket looks like it won't have that problem though.
Fantastic video Adam! Thank you very much. Maybe an idea for another (probably quite short) video: could you please explain which BB apps can be downloaded on the Titan (and which can't?) and whether those that can be downloaded work pretty well (e.g. the Hub?) Hey, nobody has talked about the swipe typing you had on the key 1 and key 2 phones. You're able to swipe up suggested words when typing, instead of having to type every letter out. Can this phone do that? I used to love that feature on the blackberry phones.
Another very helpful and cool video. I wish you had compared side by side the Titan Pocket and BlackBerry Classic. It appears there length and width are almost identical. It looked like the key size of the Titan Pocket and Key2 were almost identical and that's good. Being a PKB device I suspect it is very difficult not to use and or compare to your BlackBerry's. In reference to the former video noting how each should stand on their own merits I am going to try using my Titan Pocket exclusively (and not in conjunction with my Black Edition KeyOne) when received. It seems like the position of the symbol and alt keys and the frustration is primarily based on habit and familiarity with what most all of us are used to on our BlackBerry's. (Michael Fishers Twitter comments already elicit his unfamiliar frustration) If OM does not have intellectual rights I wonder if their FIH keyboard will also be different than existing BlackBerry's? For me the Classic is the zenith of any PKB ever made so all anyone really needed to do was take that and design a new device @ it.
Yeah, the Classic was the pinnacle BlackBerry device for sure. Too bad they're super protective of their patents and won't let anyone else cram some modern internals into it and sell it.
Many thanks for your impressions. Have only used Q10's and a Classic. Since IU wear glasses the small screen is not too disconcerting. So far it is "safe" to say the UT "pocket" is CURRENTLY superior to any equivalent offerings from BB. I commend Unihertz for such a offering at a realistic price, instead of BBs "let them eat cake attitude," calculated indifference to the market.
Adam, Thanks for reviewing. I saw your video link on Unihertz webpage when I checked them out after this review.
