Great song but... Don't they have any other songs? All bloggers record their reactions to this particular song and isn’t it enough for you? This monotonous choice is surprising. I don’t even want to give examples, all the albums except the first are very strong and homogeneous.
@@Митяй-ь3э They have, probably would enjoy more to see they playing Desperate Cry, but its the song in between Inner Self (they already reacted to) and Propaganda (this video) and its the between groove and brutality of those two songs
@@Митяй-ь3э Well, not everyone follows "all bloggers", so there's that. But hey, I wouldn't say no to have them cover any other song from Arise either. Desperate Cry, Altered State... etc
Clicked to watch sepultura reaction video but shocked with father and son... Maybe we had listened to this song together with my father more than a thousand times before he passed away. I wish he would listen to this version.
Perfect timing, I was listening to the live version on the way in to work this morning. Discovered Sepultura back in high school around 99-00 and been jamming their stuff ever since 🤘
In 93 I was in the 10th grade. Sepultura had visited Clemson University's Little John Colosseum during the Arise tour and blew the lid slam off the place. As a huge fan of the Beneath the Remains and Arise albums I distinctly remember riding to record bar in the mall and buying this on release day. On the way home I threw the cassette in the radio and as soon as it started playing I ripped it out and looked at it. I thought I'd bought a Helmet album or something LOL. It became one of my all time favorite albums with time. What a time to be a high-school kid and see them show up at a college campus with Alice in Chains and Ozzy and for me they stole the whole show with a 20min opener. I remember wishing they would have played for hours. Desperate Cry is still one of my all time favorite songs.
Nice to see this song come up, I remember a few weeks ago when you said you were going to play it in the comments of another video. I think I also recommended Refuse/Resist, but some Soulfly or Cavalera Conspiracy would be cool too.
Sepultura is Portuguese for Grave. They are from Brazil. They started of as Death/Thrash Metal. This album is Groove as is Roots. Arise,Beneath the Remains, Schitzophrenia, Morbid Visions etc. are all Death or Thrash...
Sepultura is touring right now with the young drummer, Greyson Nekrutman, who is big on socials. Might be interesting to react to his videos because he's a beast and usually gets good numbers, he WAS kind of specialized in big band/swing but as a monster player who hits effing HARD, but has recently forayed into the metal world
Omg this song still makes me wanna break shit! I had this CD when it came out and was not disappointed at all. The album just starts right off into the 'Chaos' of the album. But going to how Sepultura started, I wanna say they started with death metal to thrash to transitioning into groove metal. Pantera loved this band as a little fun fact. And speaking of tribal music, their album Roots is ironically what you were feeling. They have some songs in relation to how things were in Brazil.
this isn't the age of chaos though, this is the age of 'order' more laws and authoritarian structures than ever before - the most depths of amorality than ever before this is the age of narcissism/wendigo - human domestication
Excellent reaction!!! Sepultura is a sacred, masterful, immortal band!!!!!! I suggest the reaction, analysis of the songs "Desperate Cry", "Dead Embryonic Cells", "Refuse / Resist", "Beneath The Remains", "Territory"...Bestial Devastation (1985 EP), Morbid Visions (1986 LP), Schizophrenia (1987 LP), Beneath the Remains (1989 LP), Arise (1991 LP), Chaos A.D. (1993 LP), Roots (1996 LP), Blood-Rooted (1997 compilation with covers of sacred songs by sacred bands: Celtic Frost, Black Sabbath, etc): all these albums, for me, are what really, in relation to this band, I always liked and I like it so much: masterful, sacred, immortal, timeless, impressive, overwhelming, devastating, awesome band and albums: SEPULTURA with classic lineup - Max Cavalera: Vocals, Guitar (rhythm); Jairo Guedz: Guitar (lead: Bestial Devastation EP and Morbid Visions LP), Andreas Kisser: Guitar (lead: Schizophrenia LP to this day); Paulo Xisto Jr.: Bass; Igor Cavalera: Drums...Greetings from Brazil!!!
If Judson wants more "tribal" from Sepultura, exploring the Roots album would be a nice idea especially with tracks like Ratamahatta or the title song itself, but also the small tribal musical interludes.
I swear you should try some Imperial Triumphant ! Damn, Propaganda brings me so many years back ! One of the first songs I tried to play on my guitar, not even understanding tuning was 1 step down 😂
Love it. Been following you guys for a while. Judson's takes are always great. Do you take requests? If so, Vader - "Blood of Kingu" from the De Profundis album (1995) would be beyond awesome. Absolute riff fest with GROOVE! Legendary album, massive song.
I'm getting this request in quickly as this reaction has just dropped and you have the T-Shirt on. You need to do Apparition! I just don't know if it's too early in Judson's Death Metal journey 👀
Hey Guys, I really enjoy your show. Here are suggestions that I would be very interested to hear what Judson thinks about them: Nevermore - The Sorrowed Man Katatonia - Old Heart Falls Leprous - The Price Mastodon - Show yourself Crowbar - The Lasting Dose Biohazard - Punishment Down - Stone the Crow The Haunted - All against all Black Dahlia Murder - Statutory Ape Carcass - Heartwork Manowar - The gods made heavy metal Nevermore - who decides Cheers
Dear diary, Judson was already praising the musicality of Black Metal and now Max Cavalera's growls are more than tolerable to his years. Richard's machiavelic plan of manipulating Judson into his Atmosferic BM keyboard/piano player progressed in leaps and bounds. I was skeptical at first, but now it seems the transformation is almost complete, what a tricky devil this Richard guy is, if that's even his real name. May God have mercy on our souls.
I have a stupid question, but I've wondered this for a long time now. Why does Judson always lift one of his earpads from his ear at the beginning of every song? 😄 Keep bringing the content guys! Love from Norway.
You guys have to check out Diablo Swing Orchestra. Whatever you think of when you hear that name, it's that combined with metal. They're a fun band. I recommend "Balrog Boogie," or "Voodoo mon amour," or "Superhero Jagganath."
Chaos GM. Interesting that he thought of it as tribal considering where they went after this album. Ps. Probably best you dont know what was in that sauce.
Yep, Cat Stevens, level S & G music, similar style. I recommend introducing Richard to the songs "Wild World" (Mr. Big did a great cover), Father & Son you just played, "Lady D'Arbanville" (great) It's not Sepultura's best album, it was the beginning of their slow decline. They were saved a bit by "Roots" but that's it. It's a shame because I started my adventure with metal music with them and Metallica. Sepultura ended their great playing just like James & Co.
Sepultura means sepulcher or grave in Portuguese and Spanish. The first couple of Sepultura releases were Blackened Death Metal, not Thrash. They eventually evolved into a Thrash band on the Schizophrenia album, which was their third release. They remained in solid Thrash territory up through the Chaos A.D. album. I do not consider it a Groove Metal album. That’s such revisionist crap because Thrash always had groovy elements and syncopated rhythms, but Pantera more or less made it their signature style and younger fans glommed onto that term. Referring to stuff like this as Groove Metal is more of a Millennial thing. I’m not a Millennial so to me it’s Thrash. Sepultura technically didn’t ever stop being a Thrash band, but from 1996 - 2001 they sort of fell into the Nu Metal trap before returning to form more or less on the 2003 album Roorback. Since then they’ve stayed in a weird Hardcore Punk and Progressive Thrash Metal conglomeration. They’re nowhere near as good as they once were. Loved them back in the 80s and 90s, but I sadly got bored with them in the last 20 years and they must have too because they’re disbanding later this year. I have to admit that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Inner self definitely isn't the first sepultura song you'd want to show someone lol, you should show him nomad next. Also sepultura does have tribal influence in their music so that's interesting judson made that observation, make sure you tell him about that
Chaos A.D. is a great album.
front to back barn burner!!!
Dead Embryonic Cells next Sepultura song? that breakdown will have judson's head movin
oh yes

I'm so glad you chose this song, I absolutely love the bass and drum groove with the breakdown. Awesome song and album
Judson was especially Judson on this one
"Sepultura" is the hole (grave) you dig to bury someone. Great video! ❤🔥
In Portuguese of course.
@@YouArchTube I actually translated directly from spanish, but I'm pretty sure it has the same meaning 🤘

Almost a religious experience. A deep cut and hidden gem. No weak spot start to finish. Cheers from Morocco

That’s beautiful. Thank you for hanging out with us
Seriously, the riffs in this song are incredibly filthy and the bass lines are insane as well
Perfect timing, I was listening to the live version on the way in to work this morning. Discovered Sepultura back in high school around 99-00 and been jamming their stuff ever since
🤘
One of the best groove metal songs ever. The breakdown at the end and the double bass still gets me pumped every time I hear it!
Every time Judson talks about drum and bass I feel like he would love OM
Chaos AD will always be a favorite album for me. Very pivital in the sound of metal but so under appreciated
Sepultura= instant like. I think Desperate Cry is a song you might enjoy. Usually a "go to" for new listeners.
SAVATAGE - Prelude to Madness & Hall Of The Mountain King. I am 100% sure Judson will be excited about it
Sepultura means Burial
Pura Vida from Costa Rica🇨🇷👍
This song is just one mean riff after another
This whole disc still grooves me to this day
Chaos AD joke didn't go unnoticed. Good one Jud
They were the masters of pedal tone riffing and making it something special with just one or two extra notes.
Most peeps like other Sepultura albums best.. Chaos AD is my fave.. got into them and Pantera about the same time in 93
Same with me. I was a Sophomore in high school.
Interesting choice, Richard.
So relevant to this day and age.
And after what happened last night.
Keep killing it, Richard and Judson
Ah Igor Cavalera beating the drumkit as though it owes him money.

One of my favorite sepultura breakdowns.
Great choice. Still one of my favorite bands today. 🤘
Glad you did this one, I love it the most from this album.
Thank you guys for the request
Next: ratamahatta and dead embryonic cells, please!
Ratamahatta would be awesome!
The lyrics are also eternal. In what world is Judson living? We are surrounded by propaganda.
Love me some sepultura killer tone
Ooh, what a killer track. May contain their greatest riffs.
This song still fits today, where we can't trust the main media

Hellyeah Sepultura!! 🤘🏼
Great video, would love to see Judson's reaction to Kaiowas.
this entire album though
This is fantastic. So much memorys and a great album. We got the f**king Oasis reunion but we all want Sepultura with the Cavalera brothers again :-D
Great selection, Chaos A.D is a masterpiece.
Richard looking more and more like Scottie Sheffler
That’s what I say! Almost identical! And he plays golf

Territory!
