my favorite detail about alexandrite is that while she mostly is voiced by the three seperate voice actresses with one taking the lead- when she's focused and together (like with the line "You two should spend some time apart") she has her own voice actress.

Best part: Steven's last words being "I love you Peridot", and her responding "Wow, thanks", *because* Steven taught her that's how you respond to someone giving you a GIFT.
If you didn’t catch it, Steven can access other peoples/gems subconscious. It’s how he can pop into the Watermelon Steven’s and the cluster. That’s how he could talk to Lapis and Jasper before too. It’ll come into play more in the coming eps seasons. 😊
Others disagree, but I feel like SU just keeps getting better, and deeper, and more hard hitting with every season right through to the end of SUF.
The fourth season is a bit of a mess, and the finale is a fun spectacle but really rushed and unsatisfying. Loved Future
It always gets me sooo messed up thinking about how the cluster is like. Crystal gem shards? And they were going to be forced to destroy the planet they were shattered trying to protect. Absolutely grim. No wonder they didn’t want to form at the end there.
I totally forgot about those Watermelon guys, surprised they managed to make a functional society considering what happened when they first appeared in the show
Steven’s words about baby melon’s sacrifice really got through to them, but as we see close to the end this battle really caused a rift between Baby melon’s sacrifice and Steven melon’s militarism, especially since that’s what they were made for.

yeah, they really dig deep into gemstone trivia with their characters. like sapphires having future sight is likely derived from their industrial application in optical devices, due to their extremely wide "optical transmission band".

The fact that there are 5 seasons and we're on season 3 means that we're at the point of no return. Especially when it's starting off like THIS!
Steven can actually communicate to the Cluster. They're all bubbling each other. Steven has a good heart

Malachite has to be my favorite fusion solely because I really dig her design and how powerful she is with Jasper’s spin dash attack/helmet and Lapis’ hydrokinesis/water wings. Plus I love the concept of her being the representation of a toxic and unhealthy relationship between two people. Also, Jasper and Lapis are two amazing characters on their own.
However Malachite never make a physically appearance in the series and future
The whole watermelon sacrifice is a bit dark if you consider that when Malachite ate the Watermelon Steven, they said "Steven...", but Jasper only calls him "Rose", with Lapis being the one who knows him as "Steven". Lapis is no white dove either, her actions can be seen as good or martyr like, but even the first thing she says as Malachite is "I'm done being everyone's prisoner, now you're MY prisoner, and I'm never letting you go! Let's stay on this miserable planet, together!"
Lapis took the longest to be redeemed
Probably no the most known opinion, but every time I watch Season 3 Ep 2 of Steven universe; I get knocks that the show has a VERY LITE Cosmic Horror theme to it.
Like, the Cluster could be a child friendly version of Cthulhu, an alien entity asleep in the earth that could casually destroy the earth if awoken.

It's assumed that the vast majority of the Cluster's gemshards are from the gemstones of Crystal Gems shattered in battle against Homeworld or executed by Homeworld as traitors. That being the case they are likelier to believe that Steven is "Rose Quartz" from his gemstone and thus follow what he says.
Peridot is now without a doubt a Crystal Gem, and the first one who is part of Team Steven and not the remains of Team Rose Quartz.

5:56 ain't no way this isn't lapis talking. Also she is not a savior neither she sacrificed herself or some sort, she always had the choice to just beat jasper, intead she tricked her and trapped her for months in the most intimate action between gems. This is what I can say without spoilers, Lapis is a well written character full of flaws
I love how the two major plot points of season 2 just get resolved in the first two episodes of season 3, no complaining though...
Btw season 3 is the best one by far
I think it was supposed to be the season finale of Season 2, but the seasons got cut up kinda weird.

@@manupm9161 I mean before seasons 2-3 were planned as separate seasons. They were going to be one season like how season 1 is the length of two seasons.

I love how Alexandrite uses the weapons of all 3 gems combined into new ones, which are the weapons of Opal , Sugalite and Sardonyx, while Malachite uses the weapons/abilities of Jasper and Lapis separately, they're either using the spin attack or water wings, not both combined.
Cartoon Network spoiled the reveal by releasing the entire fight between Alexandrite and Malachite as a “special teaser” for the episode three weeks early,

I know ppl would like a mighty battle or some sort of climax but that's not what the story is about and never was
The cluster is still people(gems) forced into a situation they can't even control
For the mighty battle we literally had Malachite vs Alexandrite
Cool fight and all
Now we dive into a more interesting subject and it was greatly handled
literally stevens whole thing has been empathy and compassion why would the climax be him destroying millions of gems who don't deserve it?
Some people didn’t understand what this show was about. Good riddance. There’s plenty of violence in just about every other piece of media to satisfy you.
