  • I just got a Kindle Scribe and I wanted to show you some things you can do with it with regards to planning. Don't worry, my paper planners and stickers aren't going away, but I do think it has some noteworthy features.

    Thanks for a 'dedicated' video using the Kindle Scribe relating to planning - this is my main area of interest, and just purchased one (one a great deal) - so thanks again!

    Something that needs to be emphasized over other tablets - battery life. The scribe can go WEEKS/MONTHS in-between charging compared to more expensive tablets from Apple and Samsung. The display is epic quality in direct sunlight, where LCD's cannot compete. I got my scribe last week and have torture tested it and .. just wow. I can read in daylight! The web browser kinda sucks, it's true. Other than that as a kindle reader it's an expensive but excellent reader. I wish it could have an app store or something equivalent for add on's.

    Hi!! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to make this video.
    My Scribe arrived last night and because of you I already had the perfect planner downloaded and waiting for it!
    It's super useful, the pen surprised me from minute 1.
    Thanks again ❤

    I downloaded the second organizer you suggested (rm2.breadcrumb.dotted.default.ampm.dailycal.2023.pdf) and imported the pdf into my scribe. This is awesome! I can move around easily using the touchscreen and making notes with the pen is so easy. Thank you for a GREAT video.

    Thanks for this video! I got the scribe on day one and didn’t think I would use it much, certainly not as a planner. But the more I use it and the more features they add, the more I can’t imagine not having it!
    The PDF that had the button for “more notes” - can you share the link for that? Is it the same one you’ve already shared and I’m just not techy enough to figure it out?

    Thanks for the info! I was curious about using this as a planner. I am not the best at keeping a paper planner although I try every year. I totally failed at Bullet Journals. So is it easy to make a list or do a to do list or take notes on the Scribe and then convert it to text and email it to someone? I see myself using it at work for my To Do's and notes because i have a million notebooks and post its with to do's and I feel like this would allow me to keep everything together. I was also wondering if I could do a digital planner on my iPad, but it seems the writing experience would be so much better on the Scribe. I thought the Remarkable was cool, but the fact that you get an E-Reader with the Scribe makes it seem so much moe worth it. I like the Erin Condren Foloio for it, is that the Large size?

    Many thanks for this excellent information. Can you recommend any PDFs that can be used for daily journaling? Thanks.

    • @MotivatedbyStickers
      @MotivatedbyStickers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is probably my favorite. It has a totally separate page for notes for each day, which you could use for journaling. Just download the ones that say for Remarkable. It also has the code if you want to learn to generate your own (I'm too lazy and just usually download these PDFs): github.com/kudrykv/latex-yearly-planner/discussions/9
      If you want to play around with customizations, you can also try this: recalendar.me/create
      There are also templates on Etsy you can get, but those cost money. There might be other options with some googling. If you see anything for the Remarkable tablet, it usually works pretty well with the Scribe.

    • @clskip
      @clskip 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ok question, are notes (especially hand written) searchable? Or is there a way to tag? Ok perhaps bookmarkable? Occasionally I’ll need to refer back in my work notes to find when I did something or if there’s something still outstanding. Thanks again!

    • @MotivatedbyStickers
      @MotivatedbyStickers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@clskip Great questions. Notes are not necessarily searchable (yet). You can search PDF files, though. And you can export your notebooks to text to search them that way.
      You can sorta tag PDF files by adding them to collections. The notes that I showed, you can only put them into subfolders at the moment.
      Everything is bookmarkable. You can bookmark pages in both notes and pdf.
      What is nice is that it remembers what page you were on in the notebook. So if you have a notebook of work notes with 15 pages, and you open that notebook again, it'll remember where you were. It also shows a little preview of it before you go in, so you could potentially get information without opening it.
      Also, one nice thing about the notebooks (not PDFs) is that they are viewable on the Kindle mobile app and the website because they are synced to the cloud. So you could actually pull up your work notes on your phone without having to pull out your scribe.

    Thank you so much for sharing this! If I could marry reading and planning in one device, that would be absolutely amazing and I hadn't considered this as a possibility. One question though... what was the price like on Prime Day (if that's not to intrusive) to compare with the regular retail price? Thanks!

    • @MotivatedbyStickers
      @MotivatedbyStickers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Not intrusive at all. The scribe was $85-$100 off depending on which model you got. I have the 64gb but you could probably be fine with a 16gb as long as you are okay taking stuff off your device from time to time.
      They also have a deal at anytime where you can trade it an old kindle or echo for 20% on top of whatever discount there is. It also works with broken kindles!
      FYI this is a great site for checking price history and price drops: camelcamelcamel.com/
      Happy to answer any other questions if you need it :)

      @@MotivatedbyStickers I have been considering upgrading my device cuz my Kindle is oldddddd... I wanna say I bought it in like 2010 or so. I live outside the US though so that is my only concern regarding the trade-in process... the timing of Prime Day wasn't great for me and I am now exploring my options and looking into stuff. Also waiting to see if there will be any fall releases or updates.

    • @MotivatedbyStickers
      @MotivatedbyStickers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@shakirarouse7125 Hey, nothing wrong with an old Kindle if it still works. I'm not sure how the trade-in process works for people out of the country.
      There probably will be some fall updates. Amazon is having a "hardware" event in September. Not sure exactly what that will mean but there could be a new Kindle.
      You could also look into the Remarkable tablets. They provide a lot of the same functionality and they are cheaper. The downside is you don't get a backlight and the reading experience isn't as good.

    • @shakirarouse7125
      @shakirarouse7125 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MotivatedbyStickers Thanks for that feedback re: the September event. Admittedly, my primary purpose is the reading experience. I’m just pleased to see that Kindle is taking the time to improve on the user experience and now we can do more. How did you install the planner on your Scribe? Did you drag and drop it from your laptop?

    • @MotivatedbyStickers
      @MotivatedbyStickers  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@shakirarouse7125 The planner is super easy to install. Once you have the PDF, the easiest way to put it on is the "Send to kindle" function. You can do it thru e-mail or thru the website: www.amazon.com/sendtokindle

    The whole notebook/folders/collection idea confuses me. You create notebooks inside of folders? Or can you create a notebook and have subfolders? Also, is there a way to add multiple PDFs to a folder? I have over 1,000 PDFs I'd like to import from my PC and organize and I can't figure out how to put more than 1 at a time into a collection
