    Hi Barry, many thanks to you, finally it's working good ,i bought this tractor a year ago ,it was working bad from the beginning ,the clutch and the hydraulic was bad ,but because of you ,we get it working ,
    First thing after we bought it ,we did the oil and filter changes ,the motor was working perfet ,but the clutch was stuck and hydraulics was making fun of me 😂😂, but now is like brand new , thanks to you and your patience ,i feel like i owe you something ,i can't thank you enough
    The fault on the Valve ,was the dirt in there ,you know what are you doing , any of you videos help me repair it , because i love it ,is a good tractors, but it needs the best mechanical suport , thanks again you are the best 👋👋🤠 i wish you all the best
    Ed

    When I bought my DB885 selectamatic it had no lift at all. In theory there are lots of reasons for no or poor lift - including bad or low oil, worn out pump, broken tubes, blocked filter, blown seals on the lift piston and so forth. However the vast majority of cases are due to a sticking valve in the chest. DB designers gave specific access to two valves in the chest that can be removed and cleaned without stripping the tractor so from that you can deduce that these to two - the bypass valve and the hold valve are the two that can need most attention. I was given a brilliant tip on the old DBTC forum that quickly eliminates a load of potential problems in just one step. That it is to cut a metal rod the correct length and use this to replace the spring in the bypass valve. It needs to be the correct length so that the screw cap just keeps the valve on its seat with enough of the cap thread screwed down. Then fire up the engine and with the valve forced on its seat like this the lift arms should shoot up and stay up with the PRV 'screaming' away to release further pressure. When I did this my arms did indeed shoot and stay up so I knew everything outside of the valve chest was fine. In my case my spool valve was badly adjusted and so wasn't controlling the bypass valve properly. If your arms don't shoot up and stay up then there is a problem elsewhere so it's a great option to try and only takes a relatively small amount of time.

      Hi Jose, if you pop over to Path of Discovery and check out Shanes video on hydraulics, he covers he's rebuild extremely well
      it's normally caused through badly adjusted or worn spool valve in the valvechest.

      my hickupping was caused by a pinhole leak in the pressure pipe running from the valve chest down under the diff and then up to the ram cyl. was touching the main bearing cap for the diff and that wore a pinhole in the pipe. in the hold position, the leak would let the imp drop a few inches then the selectamatic would auto compensate by picking it up again to the correct height automatically but the process would repeat repeat repeat. I removed the pipe and brazed up the pinhole and that fixed my hickupping. took MANY months and lots of trying to find the root cause.

    Hello there ,having some bother with the lift on my
    780 selectamatic ,just put the lift back on yesterday , the lift only wants to
    go up without touching the lift handle ?,Thanks

      Hi Sashe, you never mentioned setting the hydraulic's up after you've reinstalled them
      have you watched this video

      it show how to set the selector and quadrant after a disassembly.
      it sounds like you've got a incorrectly set system.

    Another question if I may. 1200 was running then shut off.Someone suggested the timing gears could be stripped. I took the cover off the front of the injection pump, I can see 2 gears turning teeth look ok. But no fuel is coming from IP. The pump was rebuilt in UK 2 years ago.

    • @manfromthemist1958
      @manfromthemist1958  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Samuel, I would pop the side inspection plate off the pump and see if the shafts turning inside. if it is ,you've probably got a fuel delivery problem or the fuel metering valve inside could be stuck.
      lets know how you get on
      many thanks
      Barry

      @manfromthemist1958  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Samuel, just a thought , you have checked that fuel is being delivered from the lift pump?
      it might be worth checking the entire fuel supply system

    My 770A lifts and holds a heavy implement full and strong BUT ONLY ONE TIME and ONLY ON INITIAL ENGINE START. If I lower the implement and then immediately try to lift it again I have insufficient pressure (per my gauge screwed into the bleeder screw hold of the ram cylinder) and I cannot lift the same implement very much at all. Any ideas on the cause of this strange behavior ? (I have cleaned my wire mesh pickup screen and replaced the oil, etc etc.)

    • @manfromthemist1958
      @manfromthemist1958  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Chris, I don't know much about 770's but have/can you check the pressure of the pump between the pump and the valve chest, cos this sounds like something sticking/not closing properly in the valvechest.
      try removing the by-pass valve insert and give it a clean,
      Shane, path of discovery and in my play lists are videos of dismanteling the valvechest, just becarefull as there are some small parts in there thats easy to loose.
      many thanks
      hope this was helpfull

    Quick question, my 885 has a loader attached to #26 in the parts diagram at 5:14 in the video. It has 2 ports for #28 + #27 instead of 1 which the loader is connected to, nothing in the large port next to it. Should the return be plumbed into the large port on that same block instead ? for double acting cylinders ?. Everything I can find in the manual only shows a single port there.

    • @manfromthemist1958
      @manfromthemist1958  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Dan, Item 26 on the parts dia, commonly refered to as the camels humps, has two ports, the forward/lower one is a retrun function from the loader or trailer to allow oil to retrun to the gearbox sump,
      The port under item 27 is a high pressure feed from the pump, As my tractor doesn't have the double acting valve on it I would assume the feed to the double acting valve would be plumbed in there, so both the supply and retrun should be tapped into the top of the camels humps,
      I've just put up an image of the camels humps in the4 community area of YT home page. This shows the smaller front port on the casting item 26.
      Hope this helps
      Many thanks
      Barry

      @@manfromthemist1958 mine has 3 ports, if I am seeing this correct on the diagram the two rear ports are pressure and pressure release?. I have changed from a 2 spool valve control to a 3 spool so I can run the loader and rear hydraulics but now the loader won't lift. It is an open centre valve spool so oil will be returning to the middle port which in one diagram looks connected to the pressure port directly. It was working fine with the old leaky valve spool, I will check to see if it is a closed centre spool that has been rigged up like this. The forward return is blanked, tempted to fit a flare fitting in there and blank the middle port to see if it solves the issue.

    • @DanWA
      @DanWA 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just had another look at the diagram, seems the center port is what people run as the pressure line not the original line marked with P. Which is the 3 point linkage pressure line they use as a return. I will swap the hoses over and see if that sorts it out.

      @@manfromthemist1958 swapping the lines from the camel hump fixed it. Turns out the Pressure port is used as the return in this setup as the real pressure port is connected to the rear port to the lift ram normally but someone has made this camel hump to separate it into two separate threaded ports. All fixed now.

    Are hydraulics the same on the 990 and the 1200? I have a stuck valve on the 1200. I got 1 out but other will not come out?

    Hi Barry. My hydrolics on my 990 go up, but they won't come back down for some reason? Wondering what to do whether I have to take it out again or adjust something. Thanks

    • @manfromthemist1958
      @manfromthemist1958  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Crofter, for the arms to lower it needs the hold valve and by-pass to be open at the same time, it could be you've got a worn or incorrectly adjusted spool valve, I've got the hydraulic manual on my G drive
      drive.google.com/file/d/1oetujL--tOzY55epN6kfRuCmaQyt7Nmn/view?usp=drive_link
      p-lease fell free to download it and on page 6 is a good dia of the chest operation.
      hope this helps
      ps have you checked the latch pin isn't turned, on the back of the lift cylinder.
