    I am doing my background check for United CSR right now and I have been devouring your videos for months, ever since I started first applying for every position and every mainline, regional or subsidiary. Thank you for all your advice with employment, I really love your content!!

    Yes agree. Career growth can be limited with a subsidiary and most important is retirement. My subsidiary does not do 401k match like we were promised and as with mainline. One can retire, but as of right now, it does not include flight benefits for lifetime, like with a mainline airline.
    Also, with my subsidiary we are part of a union, which is good.

    Hi, I just started watching your videos. Thank you! I appreciate the information. You said, you have worked for the Big 3 airlines. I have a question. I am thinking about applying for one of the mainlines. Can you rate your favorite you feel
    provided you the best Culture, Shifts and Flexibility. Thanks in advance. 8:14

      Thanks for watching! The airline that starts with a D is my absolute favorite. The culture and the way they treat us is so amazing. All airlines have a lot of flexibility. My airline currently since I am seasonal, there is a lot of flexibility. I like the flight benefits of American. I love how it is according
      to checkin and not seniority. United is cool too. The only problem with United is that you have to pay extra for first class. Unless you are using a vacation pass.

    hi Bohemian, I had a few Q for you. Does it matter which airline I work for in terms of seeing the world? If I work for Southwest and they do not fly to Canada, Europe or Asia but they have agreements with other airlines except for Asian Airlines via ZED aka ID-90. I need clarification if I use ID 90 with a different airline like Emirates to fly to Kenya lets say, does that mean I'm only paying the departure and arrival taxes, imputed income, and additional costs for using their airline (Emirates) or just paying the country's taxes as if I was flying non-rev with my employer airline Southwest or is it cheaper to work for Emirates and fly on their destinations as an example? Any advantages/disadvantages of selecting which airline to work for? Also, the same question but flying Domestic such as working for Delta and flying on American to Ohio for example, is there any extra charges not flying on your employer airline?
    Lastly, I am having rejections applying for AA but better luck with Envoy?

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey David. There are many options for you. If you work for Southwest, you can do ID 90s to these other countries and just fly on other airlines. There is a small fee and you will have to pay the taxes that everyone pays. For instance, me leaving Japan will be $56 and I am actually flying on my own airline. And yes, domestically, if you do ID90s with on American, or someone that is not your airline, there will be a small fee. So it’s totally up to you. Perhaps apply to whoever is hiring and when you get the job you can continue applying while you’re at your new job to get to your dream airline. Good luck with everything.

      @@TheBohemianTraveler wish i could ask you this in private but got to ask anyway: have you heard of anyone in all of your experience who has a disability and can only work for say roughly 100 hours a week, even during the beginning probation period or is the 120 hours minimum mandatory for everyone? thank you sooooooo much. i don't want to ask if it is already not a possibility.

    Hi I have common question. Some main lines post their starting pay on the website. Will it be raised after training? If not how long will they raise the pay from the posting starting pay? Thank you. ❤ I love all your videos. Very informational.

      Thank you so much! Most mainlines for ground crew increase their salary after one year and it goes up every year. Year five is when you get that huge bump. I wish you the best.

    • @TheBohemianTraveler
      @TheBohemianTraveler  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! The first ones were a subsidiaries and I wanted to do mainline. The second one was a Mainline, which I enjoyed but I had always wanted a seasonal position with the current airline I am at now. I know it’s a big risk changing airlines, but I know that this was exactly where I needed to be. Big risk -big rewards.

      Skywest, united ground express, envoy, etc. there are quite a few subsidiaries and contract companies that give you flight benefits. It’s usually in the job description.
