Thank you for posting this, it made the decision to buy the Husky FE 350 much easier. Even before installing this lowering link, my husband said this was simply the best dirt bike he's ever owned, and he's been riding in the dirt over 50 years. His first Husky was in 1970. He's 5'8" and of course wanted to touch the ground; your video has also made installation much easier (no instructions came with the part).
Everything you do to your rear suspension causes different handling adjustments. Rather you do the front or not. Some people prefer a swing when riding. Some people like the lean.
You guys are hilarious working together! I especially liked the "push it in like a Man" comment; the irony was of course, the guy who said it had a towel down as to not hurt his manly knees. I enjoyed the video guys and learned from it. Thank you.
Hey hey crazy dudes. Thanks for this video. I need to lower my KTM 640 dule sport. Not to be flat footed but to get my but in the seat. My age 56, I'm 6 ft 6, cant do the lift the leg high enough thing anymore. I will definitely remember the 85nM torque on the bolts and nuts :) Frankie / South Africa.
I went back to the stock pull arm link of my YZ250, and did what I needed to do with the shock and fork, (about .75" less travel). I found that with the longer links, it does not shorten the wheel travel, but just shifts it,----into your fender. So it would be like hitting the brake if you bottom it out on the fender, (which is probably a real bad time to hit the rear brake), while beating on the fender and sub frame. My almost expert opinion, (if you want the most functional bike possible), I think it is better to stick with the stock link and lower the bike elsewhere. Me and that bike are going to get along real well this summer. :)
tis iv wow - tough question... I wouldn’t know to tell you - but Common sense would say that raising the CG would create some instability yet I don’t know how significant the change would be....Sorry I can’t be be more helpful
hey i need youre help please .. i have a ktm 125.. there is a lot of oil coming out of the end of my muffler and gets all over everthing my ratio is 40;1..can you help or is this norma/ thanks
Good job guys. It takes a lot of patience for old pals ( I’m over 50) to work as a team sometimes. Actually, you could perfectly flat foot that bike without lowering it. But it will cost you 2 big balls and gain high pitch voice. Just kiddin’ 😉
@@HOLYSHIFT I took off my Pro Circuit longer link and put the stock one back on. It was closer to stock than yours by far, (maybe a 3mm difference in length).
This was just as funny as it was educational, lol. Can't believe I paid a mechanic like $300 for two bolts and it barely lowered my KTM 125 SX. Good video though, you guys are hilarious.
You're done.... now take it out again and reassemble but this time with grease, quite a lot in fact, waterproof grease preferably! Any linkage must be properly lubricated, and your vid skips this completely: fooi man! Then, when you've done that, you'll next raise the stanchions an inch through the triples surely, to obtain the proper steering settings again? You need to do that, one cannot lower a bike only front or rear as this affects the steering geometry negatively. Oh, setting the various sags at the rear is also a must, so do that when the front is lowered too.... and only when all that is done measure the seatheight.
Awesome. Man I’m 5’8 n def need one lowered . I was going to get the ktm and lower it internally which would be more money. But now I’ll with the husky . Thanks
Tashun Kosapa - not sure what they are- they came standard stock when I bought the bike. They are good for Dual purpose but mainly better off road- 80/20
I had so much fun watching this video. You guys are hilarious 😂 but most of all got’er done 🤙🏽 I’m about to do this to my KTM 350 and I’m “almost” 5’11” 😬
Hello are you specialised in husqvarna dirtbikes i have a husqvarna cr125 build in 1998 what kind of cover set can i put on it and what build type is the maximum i want the 2020 cover set on it or the 2014 one
Thanks for the video Sandy! May I ask you how did the rear shock behavior change? Some people are telling me that it becomes stiffer? Is it really so and does this link make the bike uncomfortable or strange to ride ? Did you have to change the forks setup as well ? Thanks for help. Alberto
A P I don’t feel that much of a difference- for my style of riding (average enduro difficulty) it’s just fine . Biggest advantage is the fact that I can easily reach the ground and that gives so much more confidence!
Hey Ho! I am 1.62 meter tall, 47 Kg.... I want to lower the Husqvarna FE 250. I am not sure if the 250 and 350 as the same link... Want to ask if there was any change in the riding itself.. balance wise... shock breaking.....?
I'm going with a Beta to avoid using the dog bones. I can have the seat height lowered 1.6" that they do inhouse and it only affects the travel but does not mess with the geometry of the bike. For my style of riding, I seriously doubt I will miss the travel. It's pretty reasonably priced if ordered through their suspension shop. Betas have a lower seat height anyway compared to the Japanese or KTM/Husky. There's also the option of a lower seat from Seat concepts or Enduro Engineering. That will give you another .6".
hahahah this reminded me and my bff working on cars when we were younger. I'm getting my excf 350 lower as well, and I'm a lot shorter than you. I can't wait.

No grease and what about the front???? Bad idea
Exactly what I was thinking they didn't Grease the shafts

But I agree, Where the grease at????

Frankie / South Africa.
Did you need to shorten the kick stand afterwards?
Did you lower the forks as well to level the bike?
No - left it the same
After several years, would you say that this was a good product? Is it high-quality great video by the way?

You would need to go up on the spring to stiffen it so it doesn’t bottom out as easy
Did you make any adjustments to the forks?
No
You guys make a good team
Did you lower the front to match? Did the handleing change?
Great question! I want to know the same thing. How was the handling if front and back were lowered proportionally?
Sorry for question, how tall are you?
Hi, is there any way to raise the bike and not mess up riding stability? I'm 190 cm tall. Thanx

@tis iv Get a taller seat.. That's your only option.. Or a taller bike maybe ?
You two guys fight like brothers!!! 😂😂😂
You should have greased the pivot joint, you need new helper.
Great info thanks! I wasn't aware of this I have the same problem on my 18 xcw ktm 150 what is the name of the part?
Don't you have drop the front as well?

Where can buy 1:28 the zeta ?

These guys were so excited about inserting the shaft they forgot the ad Grease:-) I was thinking well are these without lubrication now?
Just curious for point of reference. What is your inseam measurement?
31
Is that the exact lowering link you used on Amazon?
Ted Urlton yes- the link in my description is the exact item I bought and installed
How much longer is the new link compared to the stock link?
EarthSurferUSA - wow I wouldn’t know - I never actually measured it. I just looked at the final results of lowering the rear end by almost 2 inch

Nice.... but you suppose to lower the fork to... for better geometry... from the triple clamp 25mm + -
One hammer stroke = 55 newton meters . Hilarious. I enjoyed this.
