8 parked cars? My old house was the same. I DID IT BY HAND FOR 13 YEARS! We can get CRAZY snow here in Canada. I'm such an idiot! Palm-face/Face-Palm! Oh! Virgil was the star of this vid! Made me smile the whole way through! Haven't been in a smiling mood lately!
I’ve had a similar Toro model for 25 years in Colorado and it’s a work horse in 6 inches or less and I have a big Ariens two stage for bigger storms that may happen once a year or so and only have it because I bought it used from a neighbor moving to Florida for cheap
I do about 4 homes around me , the thing is the only thing that starts every time, in fact i had to replace the auger paddles this year, that was a job but i also replaced the belt , im almost excited for the snow. Just to see if she runs like new
Thank you for this excellent update! My application is much lighter than yours but I want enough capacity for occasional heavy duty. Going to buy one on the way home.
I to live in Canada but used my snow blower only 3 or 4 times last year as the snow that fell was very little amounts, non the less I was considering getting a new one this looks like the one, thanks for your review
I do snow removal I have 3 of the toro 721's I'm in Southern ohio and there great for me but we rarely get more than 8 inches and when we get 8 it is alittle struggle to get the ends of the driveways cleared. Our company does around a 100 residential driveways each storm and they hold up great although we have to change out the wear parts the scraper bar and paddles once or twice a year per blower.
Agree with everything stated right here...for a homeowner in Southern Ontario-these single stage Toro's are all you need 90+% of the time...1-4 car driveway and older/smaller stature-I recommend the Toro 518...4+ cars a 721...I sold off my 4 cycle Power Clear models in favour of older 2 cycle ones but that was mostly because avg homeowner doesn't like mixing gas and they were more saleable...I have two stage model for large end of driveway mess from the plow and I do my neighbor's who don't have one to save them from shovelling...start in the middle and you won't have to turn your chute with each pass...Merry Christmas 🌲
@@tonychau1983 hey Tony...as stated in my previous reply-the 4cycle models I had were more saleable as most homeowners don't want the hassle of mixing oil and gas...I made more $ by selling the newer models... however, there are upsides to the 2-cycle machines: they are lighter typically for the same HP (I lift in and out of a pickup), never need an oil change/run low on oil (assuming you do the mix correctly), and I find they do as good a job or better and are less $ on the used market.
To the naysayers of the Toro 721's all I can say is I use mine commercially, I keep the oil clean, I change the spark plug once a year, I change the paddles/scraper bar as needed, I use Startron and a little Seafoam in my *non-ethanol gas* and these machines have never let me down they start on one or two pulls 😀
I live in southeast Minnesota. It's hard to say. We got decent snow in 2022-2023, but much less in 2023-2023. It's good to have this single stage blower for snow between 3-8 inches. I might wait and see. Thanks@@Housebarons
Hello HouseBarons, I bought a 721 RC, 212cc, in November 2014 and it has served me faithfully since then. I think it's a fantastic machine, and from what I hear, is considered by many to be "better" than the newer models. I did some work on it today and noticed that the paddles are at the hole line; I'll probably use it for the rest of the winter and then put new paddles on in the spring, for the first time. Do you buy the Toro brand paddles (expensive!) or do you buy a generic paddle for it? I've noticed some on Amazon. I always use non-ethanol gas too . . .
I've seen videos on how SOME "professionals" treat their machines. They're trying to overmatch them. I believe if you treat a machine well, it will treat you well. I would think if a person keeps the workload within reason and keeps the oil changed, the machine will last. I have a 2016 721 and it's ran great since new.
I love my 721 E!! Just got it and first snowfall today. It's sooo fast. Is there a way to slow down the self propelled mode from a light jog to walking?? It's like walking a huge dog trying to run away so strong.
Hey do you find your choke floats out causing it to kill the engine.. plastic choke pulls out. 2fingers wide 3inches long est.. not a dirty carb either
The J hook on the belt tensioner cable can snap off at tension pulley assembly. Dead in the water till you put a new one on. About 14 dollars maybe have a spare. About a fifteen minute job.
Hey Steven, we are in indiana - looks like you get approx 2x the snowfall that we do. Even so, we don’t see why not - seems strong enough. Thx for watching!
@@stevenm2949 for such a small driveway-the Toro 518 might even be enough...just that much more manageable and easier to store...(I have recommended it to female friends with smaller driveways-they love it)

Interested to hear what you end up doing! Merry Christmas!
Loved hearing your 2 year update! Very good information for people looking to make a purchase.
Hey Mello..,
Thx for watching!
I'm in Ontario Canada taking care of residential houses. We use those 95% of the time and then a 2stage on bigger snowfalls. Pretty happy with them

Just got a new one! Had my first for 12 years!
Hi cd c, had to get ours out after a ten-inch snow last week. Started right up, cleared 5 driveways with no trouble. Thanks for your comment!
I love mine. One of my best investments. Into year four now. It threw heavy wet snow halfway across the yard two weeks ago.

Glad it was helpful! thx for watching!
My first use of the 721 E was this week during the most severe snowstorm of the year in Minneapolis, MN.
It performed fantastic, thanks again.
Use these to clear train stations at my job. These run great

have you tried the 821s? how do you think they compare?
I have a 22 inches 2 stage blower, and not sure if I had better get this one also. I have a driveway for 9 cars space, and my neighbor's 5 cars space.

Excellent review! I’m buying one now.
Hey Scott,
Has it started snow where you are?? Yikes. I hope it holds off a little longer!

One concern I’m seeing is that in lower accumulations of snow, the Toro only seems to throw the snow a few feet.

The main thing these is get good fuel, and clean it out or run it dry to get the fuel out before store it long term after winter

Goop point! Thx for watching.
Does this snowblower have an air filter?
Nope. It’s rare for a snowblower to have a air filter because all you doing is blowing snow
