Nice workhorse there. Just retired my Craftsman 2 stroke Tecumseh today after 18yrs. It was a little beast as well. Went with a Toro 721E at the last minute due to recent storms and Zero stock at major retailers. Gonna miss the 2 stroke torque but am glad to see that Toro still throwin some serious snow. Cheers! Thanks for the vid
Nothing like the power of a good old 2 stroke. Sold this thing, but was seriously considering keeping it over our newer Honda blower. If it had the quick shoot there’s a good chance it’d still be in my garage! Thanks for commenting and I hope you enjoy your new Toro!
You got a helluva deal for $80 bucks. You'll have that thing for years to come. Please get the Benol two stroke racing oil. Smells good and cleans the carb. I also add grape fuel perfume to my 5 gallon fuel can before I even mix my two stroke 50:1 jug. I also add Startron ethenol emulsifier. In the 12 years of doing this I have NEVER had to pull my carbs even after I put up the equipment over the seasons. Fuel, prime and pull the cord. 💢🔥💢🔥💢 EVERYTIME.
Sorry I’m late. Toro pulls harder and has better surface cleaning ability. Honestly might’ve gotten a newer Toro instead of the Honda if I could go back. They both work well and don’t have any serious “cons” but toro power clear technology is the real deal.
Def has an issue pushing snow off to the side there, that line around 2:10 was like half a hopper or less and it was still throwing snow off the side there. but shit for a 10-12 year old machine still beats shoveling thats for sure.
True. Definitely not designed to take that much snow at that pace. Normally with this much snow I’ll take half as much at a time so there isn’t as much leftover as seen here. Better than shoveling and many snowblowers made today for sure.
Not sure if you noticed but the chute was not set to throw the snow higher. If it was raised to itself highest point that snow would have traveled 20 to 25 feet. It was yhrowing snow that was as high as the housing and the operator was pushing quite fast. These machines are beasts. Every commercial landscaper has more Toro SS machines than 2 stages.
I have my curb-picked Toro R-Tek 3650 running at least 300rpm faster and she is a Beast. My Father still runs a Suzuki powered Toro CCR 3000 but he has it at factory set RPM and it would benefit from some more revs.
@@mosgarage9370 Last year I curb-picked a 1991 Toro Recycler lawnmower with that same Suzuki 2-cycle engine. I fixed it up and it starts with a half pull from cold at 30yrs old. Best cutting mower on the block. It cuts far better than my Honda HRX 217. Sounds cooler too.
Same here. Curbed picked a QRZ that had a blown engine while I had a 3650 that I found for $40 years before. The QRZ has the chute control on the right that slides up and down the handle so I modified the 3650 to fit the chute and control on the handle. Thing is a beast. I mix my fuel with Benol racing oil and grape scented fuel perfume. I also add Startron ethanol emulsifier to the fuel. Engines run clean and efficient.
Is this the 221E? Basically the last single stage Toro 2-stroke if it is. The 221QZE has the handle mounted chute control but other then that it’s the same thing.
Tough choice. I feel like the toro is made better and will last longer but I haven’t used any of the newer toros to know if they are as well made. I’m a 2 stroke guy so probably the toro.
@@leadnsteel1428 guy I worked for has a 4 cycle machine a few years newer than this one. He said he left gas in it through the summer and it started first pull today for the first snow of the season.

She’s a runner she’s a track star ! 💪🏻
Love mine but it’s lost the ability to go through deep snow like that. The blades just stop turning. Belt is not slipping.
80 bucks. I can’t believe it ,,, for all the work that this machine can do !! Priceless
Actually sold this one for 225 and picked up another one for $50 lol.
WOW that went through the snow like nothing. have you had any issues with it and would you recommend it?
I came here from the Honda video before this one. How did they compare? What did you like better or worse about each?

Friend has one with the Suzuki engine in it. Looking forward to trying it out this winter if he doesn’t get rid of it.

I believe it’s the same model just a bit older.
do you like the toro more or the honda?.

Can’t beat it! Picked up another one a few months ago for $50.
Does the honda pull you along like the the toro?.
They both pull you along if you tilt them.
Take a smaller bite and won't leave a mess.
I was trying to show how it did taking a full swipe.
Sounds like a two stroke .They are strong motors.
Yessir. 141cc monsters.
@@mosgarage9370 My sears crafts man is the same engine .Its a beast 25 years old and still going strong.
@@mosgarage9370 I'm getting rid of mine due to the smell of smoke but it still runs great.
I'm thinking of getting the 4 cycle I heard they are pretty good machines too

Start in the middle and take smaller bites.
Thanks chief. I did start in the middle and I was taking the big bites to show what it could do.
