this is one of those animes that gives actual personality to the side characters. Momo , who was supposed to be just a sidekick , revealed to be absolutely bonkers. Akari , who looks stupid and dumb, is actually not. Its just so peak. The worldbuilding is nice too , you have continents of tragedies as the main protag travels the world. The only other anime that creates their own map other than this is Mushoku Tensei

It's a nice concept but it ain't for me. Would be hard for me to like an MC that I see as evil but isn't portrayed as evil. I like the Kanki (from kingdom) type of character not menou. Just killing people who did nothing wrong is messed up especially cuz you can't fix the problems in your own world to stop them from summoning more, instead you choose to kill kids who were just living normal lives
She will let those kids go if they are truly good or they have no power. Unfortunately, the 'null' boy has power and said pretty bluntly that he can do whatever he wants and he'll kill whoever he likes.
She would have let him go if he had no power. But having any power makes you a ticking time bomb. One of the main antagonists was originally a little girl who liked movies, before her power got involve. It doesn’t matter how good or evil you are to begin with.

We need to see another season where the excutioner’s actions come back to haunt her. Where “the one she should not have killed” comes back and makes her watch her world burn. Just some type of karmic twist ending. Where killing him ironically ended her world.
Otherworlders who were summoned possess power called pure concept, if the power is useful to the higher government, they would keep the otherwolder alive until he or she becomes a human error which means the power has fully take control over his soul, then an inferior copy of a human error's pure concept would exist in the world as universal conjuring which anyone can access. However a human error do not have past memory anymore and their personality would become what their pure concept is, for example, human error with pure concept of null, would want to erase all things he do not like. Executioner on the other hand is someone who are tasked to kill otherwolder to prevent them from becoming human error
I think a lot of the hate comes from how the anime has to be vague on the fact that the summoners and executioners are serving warring factions for the ep 1 punchline to land - but it can backfire depending on the audience's perspective. This leads to the contextually incorrect, but understandable anger with the show's premise - the 1st target we see literally gets taken away with his family as he is eating breakfast, randomly "lucks out" on an OP power, gets decieved by the real MC, and then murdered when she sees his ability is a threat... which viewers interpreted as being the actions of one kingdom. There is zero attempt at winning him over post-ability reveal, the MC gives him a useless apology as she kills him, and his family will never know what happened to him. This doesn't mean the show is bad - it's actually quite good, but the concept is polarizing. The moral ambiguity that the show poses as a question to the audience is in some ways hindered by its own nature: What happens to people with useless powers? They get killed off so the summoners can try again. - Why not reveal the truth to the isekai'd targets and use them as heavy-hitters to kill two birds with one stone? Then the show would be forced to flesh out the isekai characters rather than the side characters and end early (Black hole boy kills summoners) - How has this summoning war been going on for years and nobody has built a device that seals powers of the summoned people? It would invalidate the plot, or lead to an actively dangerous and difficult to defeat BBEG for the MC

I think she's quite good. She was the only survivor of an extinction of a whole continent. The lost (other worlder) was very panicked and even said sorry to her saying she never meant it. Here you can see many things. • The girl knew her power, could control it but suddenly got out of control. • She was innocent but the people she killed were also innocent, not to mention the material loss. • She was an ordinary kid, who of course can't accept that she has done so much damage and caused so much death just by existing. Will she ever be able to come out of the shadow? She shouldn't have gone through this but she did. The despair of being a murderer is not a small deal. • Considering the powers have to be used for a considerable number of time before going out of control, we can see that despite being a 'good' person and possibly contributing her ability she eventually became what she never dreamt to be. So, here being good and bad isn't the thing, the thing is that the lost themselves are ticking bombs, not everyone wants to die, not everyone is a good person. Can a person care about the people of a world whom he considers himself different or even superior from? No. Because the isekai they are used to reading is about 'the protagonist who rules the world'. They can't understand the gravity of the world (most of them) Will all of them give up their powers? Will they obediently accept death knowing that they are about to become something terrifying? Human beings are complex. The people keep saying that the church doesn't deal with the people summoning them but the thing is THEY DO! It's illegal to summon the lost! Illegal things happen everywhere. DON'T WATCH THE ANIME THINKING HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER AND THEN PISS YOURSELF OFF! He was a standard teenager with a little bit of, uh, you know, (is it called second grader?) He wants to become invincible like the heroes in the novels. That's okay totally fine. BUT NOT AT ALL FINE FOR A KID WITH POWERS! POWER TO *NULLIFY* 😅 He can be impulsive, can be deceived caused he's a *kid* with little experience in his own society let alone the society in this world where he is at the bottom with no support. The MC herself says that he's a victim but he's neither smart enough to avoid being used nor mature enough to understand the consequences of his own power. Of course he needed to die! (He doesn't have the plot armour 😊) From the fact that there are no 'lost associations', it can be seen that none had survived otherwise they would have become a force to wreckon with. Between dying in despair, pain, with hands full of blood, knowing you can't go home, knowing you will be stuck in a power struggle, dying under "a sneak attack" which MC usually does is considered a less painful way to die if you ask me. *Lastly, the main character had her homeland destroyed, who kept telling her "it wasn't on purpose". Which sounds very insincere in such a situation. Even growing up under an executioner, she still acknowledged that the lost are victims and is genuinely angry at those who summon them. She's protecting the world in her own way and isn't pretending to be good. She knows the weight of the lives she carries. She knows that she killed innocent people and she acknowledges herself as a villain.*
The animation seems good but I honestly didn't like the story because my tastes in entertainment are very different, and my sense of morality is far more black and white than what the story shows, so I pretty much stopped watching the anime right after the protagonist stabbed the guy in the head.
Power/political gains. It's like in medieval age and you're a king who just summoned Tesla or something, the catch is that it will develop into nuke later. Is it a hefty price? Yes, but the glory the noble get will be remembered for generation to come

From what ive watched so far, it doesn't matter if they have an instability. If an otherworlder continues to use their power it will take over their mind and become more powerful.
Their power burns up their souls and eventually replaced them. By the end of it, they are puppets for their power. They lose their memories, personalities, everything. The boy would have become ‘Nothing’ and tried to destroy everything, eventually.
So they summon random people to give power and then kill them if there too powerful and I mean you can just be a random good guy just got done helping your mom unload the car then all of a sudden these crazy people teleport you to their verse giving you a duper power just to be killed for no reason
The dude was summoned by the nobility who wanted to overthrow the church. The church are the once who rule society and outlawed the summoning. Also, the more the summoned people use their power, the more they loose their minds and cause potentially worldending catastrophes. So, poor guy for being summoned, but understandable that he got killed.

The people summoning otherworlders are not the same people killing them. Otherworlders are always targets for being killed, regardless of what their abilities are. Summoning them is illegal and punishable by death. Even the literal king of the country can be killed if he does it. The boy was summoned by some nobles conspiring to summon otherworlders and use them as soldiers to take over the country. As for why otherworlders are always killed: their abilities grow, change and become more powerful the more they use them, often in unpredictable and dangerous ways. Additionally, they lose memories from before they were summoned, which can drive them insane. There are four "Great Human Errors", times when otherworlders caused apocalyptic damage to the world. For example one turned an entire continent, including everyone on it, into salt. The world's ocean used to be freshwater that you could freely drink but has become salty. On top of everyone on that continent dying, countless more died because they lost access to clean water, and many fish went extinct leading to fishermen being unable to catch any fish and many people who relied on fishing to get food starving. There's still a land made of salt: it's not done dissolving into the ocean.
It's meloncholy. Like their relationship is beautiful in a way that's hard to explain but the anime somehow managed it. They both care for each other but for very different reasons. Akari needs to die before she becomes an "error" and both Menou and Akari know that, and they accapt it, trying to enjoy the short time (or times) they have before Flare comes to execute both of them.

I absolutely love the LN and this adaptation. The only thing that worries me, is how many stupid people don't like it for stupid reasons. The protag is female? They don't like it. The characters aren't one-dimensional? They don't like it. There isn't black and white morality? They don't like it. Those kind of people want to see cliché good guy Nr. 263 fighting against cliché bad guy Nr. 637.

They know it's fucked up but they'd rather kill the otherworlders than let them get to a point where they kill many.

I mean, the ivory hero, the one who save the world from rampaging 4 human error was a Yuri. Her consciousness is waiting for the time girl to get her so they can return to Japan. Idk about power scalling but to compare what nullify and ivory hero can do is coughing baby vs hydrogen bonds. (The strongest in Touhou is Heatia lapizs azuili, next her is Junko, the power of "purify" same as ivory hero). The assassin girl is so smart (batman level of creativity) with her magic books she uses it to create a wall of infinite layers that went up (heaven veins) and down (earthly veins) to trap fragments of pandemonium, momo is your superman, and princess ahsuna is mix of them

They first set up really cliché things, but then the story goes somewhere completely else, which is really rare in this kind of shows. While I have to say that it's quite fast-passed and it too often spells the plot out that we can already see, as if they don't expect the audience to get it, it is still a very well written story.
Story thus far has quite a few holes, animation is incredibly stiff despite having the same team that did Index do the magic effects And the whole 'shock factor' they put at the start really loses its edge when In the second episode they put a stop to it being a plot point entirely. Also a really bad job telegraphing the 'twist' in the show but it had to be condensed for a 12 ep adaptation. Thus far I'd give it a 5/10

The most underrated and overhated series i have seen so far
I think a lot of the hate comes from how the anime has to be vague on the fact that the summoners and executioners are serving warring factions for the ep 1 punchline to land - but it can backfire depending on the audience's perspective.
This leads to the contextually incorrect, but understandable anger with the show's premise - the 1st target we see literally gets taken away with his family as he is eating breakfast, randomly "lucks out" on an OP power, gets decieved by the real MC, and then murdered when she sees his ability is a threat... which viewers interpreted as being the actions of one kingdom.
There is zero attempt at winning him over post-ability reveal, the MC gives him a useless apology as she kills him, and his family will never know what happened to him.
This doesn't mean the show is bad - it's actually quite good, but the concept is polarizing. The moral ambiguity that the show poses as a question to the audience is in some ways hindered by its own nature:
What happens to people with useless powers? They get killed off so the summoners can try again.
- Why not reveal the truth to the isekai'd targets and use them as heavy-hitters to kill two birds with one stone? Then the show would be forced to flesh out the isekai characters rather than the side characters and end early (Black hole boy kills summoners)
- How has this summoning war been going on for years and nobody has built a device that seals powers of the summoned people? It would invalidate the plot, or lead to an actively dangerous and difficult to defeat BBEG for the MC

I think she's quite good. She was the only survivor of an extinction of a whole continent. The lost (other worlder) was very panicked and even said sorry to her saying she never meant it. Here you can see many things.
• The girl knew her power, could control it but suddenly got out of control.
• She was innocent but the people she killed were also innocent, not to mention the material loss.
• She was an ordinary kid, who of course can't accept that she has done so much damage and caused so much death just by existing. Will she ever be able to come out of the shadow? She shouldn't have gone through this but she did. The despair of being a murderer is not a small deal.
• Considering the powers have to be used for a considerable number of time before going out of control, we can see that despite being a 'good' person and possibly contributing her ability she eventually became what she never dreamt to be.
So, here being good and bad isn't the thing, the thing is that the lost themselves are ticking bombs, not everyone wants to die, not everyone is a good person. Can a person care about the people of a world whom he considers himself different or even superior from? No. Because the isekai they are used to reading is about 'the protagonist who rules the world'. They can't understand the gravity of the world (most of them) Will all of them give up their powers? Will they obediently accept death knowing that they are about to become something terrifying? Human beings are complex.
The people keep saying that the church doesn't deal with the people summoning them but the thing is THEY DO! It's illegal to summon the lost! Illegal things happen everywhere. The church are the police, the summoners are the potential murderers while the lost are just weapons that they wish to destroy.
The people are upset for the boy.... THAT'S A SIDE CHARACTER! DON'T WATCH THE ANIME THINKING HE'S THE MAIN CHARACTER AND THEN PISS YOURSELF OFF! He was a standard teenager with a little bit of, uh, you know, (is it called second grader?) He wants to become invincible like the heroes in the novels. That's okay totally fine. BUT NOT AT ALL FINE FOR A KID WITH POWERS! POWER TO *NULLIFY* 😅 He can be impulsive, can be deceived caused he's a *kid* with little experience in his own society let alone the society in this world where he is at the bottom with no support. The MC herself says that he's a victim but he's neither smart enough to avoid being used nor mature enough to understand the consequences of his own power. Of course he needed to die! (He doesn't have the plot armour 😊)
From the fact that there are no 'lost associations', it can be seen that none had survived otherwise they would have become a force to wreckon with. Between dying in despair, pain, with hands full of blood, knowing you can't go home, knowing you will be stuck in a power struggle, dying under "a sneak attack" which MC usually does is considered a less painful way to die if you ask me.
*Lastly, the main character had her homeland destroyed, who kept telling her "it wasn't on purpose". Which sounds very insincere in such a situation. Even growing up under an executioner, she still acknowledged that the lost are victims and is genuinely angry at those who summon them. She's protecting the world in her own way and isn't pretending to be good. She knows the weight of the lives she carries. She knows that she killed innocent people and she acknowledges herself as a villain.*
The animation seems good but I honestly didn't like the story because my tastes in entertainment are very different, and my sense of morality is far more black and white than what the story shows, so I pretty much stopped watching the anime right after the protagonist stabbed the guy in the head.

Power/political gains. It's like in medieval age and you're a king who just summoned Tesla or something, the catch is that it will develop into nuke later. Is it a hefty price? Yes, but the glory the noble get will be remembered for generation to come

Alright so what if they have a instability? It just looks like it got themselves killed from what I see. But even if they didnt have a instability, why wouldnt they just take the otherworlders and have them join their side in stopping the bad guys? Unless theres something im missing please let me know. Cause if the bad guys can use them for their power why cant the good guys guide them in the right direction?
From what ive watched so far, it doesn't matter if they have an instability. If an otherworlder continues to use their power it will take over their mind and become more powerful.
Their power burns up their souls and eventually replaced them. By the end of it, they are puppets for their power. They lose their memories, personalities, everything. The boy would have become ‘Nothing’ and tried to destroy everything, eventually.
So they summon random people to give power and then kill them if there too powerful and I mean you can just be a random good guy just got done helping your mom unload the car then all of a sudden these crazy people teleport you to their verse giving you a duper power just to be killed for no reason
The dude was summoned by the nobility who wanted to overthrow the church. The church are the once who rule society and outlawed the summoning. Also, the more the summoned people use their power, the more they loose their minds and cause potentially worldending catastrophes.
So, poor guy for being summoned, but understandable that he got killed.

The people summoning otherworlders are not the same people killing them.
Otherworlders are always targets for being killed, regardless of what their abilities are.
Summoning them is illegal and punishable by death. Even the literal king of the country can be killed if he does it.
The boy was summoned by some nobles conspiring to summon otherworlders and use them as soldiers to take over the country.
As for why otherworlders are always killed: their abilities grow, change and become more powerful the more they use them, often in unpredictable and dangerous ways. Additionally, they lose memories from before they were summoned, which can drive them insane. There are four "Great Human Errors", times when otherworlders caused apocalyptic damage to the world.
For example one turned an entire continent, including everyone on it, into salt. The world's ocean used to be freshwater that you could freely drink but has become salty. On top of everyone on that continent dying, countless more died because they lost access to clean water, and many fish went extinct leading to fishermen being unable to catch any fish and many people who relied on fishing to get food starving. There's still a land made of salt: it's not done dissolving into the ocean.

It's meloncholy. Like their relationship is beautiful in a way that's hard to explain but the anime somehow managed it. They both care for each other but for very different reasons. Akari needs to die before she becomes an "error" and both Menou and Akari know that, and they accapt it, trying to enjoy the short time (or times) they have before Flare comes to execute both of them.
I'm a straight forward watcher so yeah it doesn't suited me well so I dropped it.

I absolutely love the LN and this adaptation.
The only thing that worries me, is how many stupid people don't like it for stupid reasons. The protag is female? They don't like it. The characters aren't one-dimensional? They don't like it. There isn't black and white morality? They don't like it. Those kind of people want to see cliché good guy Nr. 263 fighting against cliché bad guy Nr. 637.
It's shonen boys who don't like Female protags and don't like killing in the name of prevention which is extremely gray in morality. Plus people. She reminds me of Ruijerd from Mushoku Tensei because they both have gray moralities

Not necessarily, it's illegal to summon other workers, but corrupt kingdoms do it anyway as power grabs, but the more otherworlders use their powers, the more unstable they become and if an other worlder has a very strong power and becomes very unstable, it can do a lot of destruction. So the main character, under the church, kills otherworlders before disasters happens. They know it's fucked up but they'd rather kill the otherworlders than let them get to a point where they kill many.

I mean, the ivory hero, the one who save the world from rampaging 4 human error was a Yuri. Her consciousness is waiting for the time girl to get her so they can return to Japan. Idk about power scalling but to compare what nullify and ivory hero can do is coughing baby vs hydrogen bonds. (The strongest in Touhou is Heatia lapizs azuili, next her is Junko, the power of "purify" same as ivory hero). The assassin girl is so smart (batman level of creativity) with her magic books she uses it to create a wall of infinite layers that went up (heaven veins) and down (earthly veins) to trap fragments of pandemonium, momo is your superman, and princess ahsuna is mix of them

They first set up really cliché things, but then the story goes somewhere completely else, which is really rare in this kind of shows. While I have to say that it's quite fast-passed and it too often spells the plot out that we can already see, as if they don't expect the audience to get it, it is still a very well written story.

Story thus far has quite a few holes, animation is incredibly stiff despite having the same team that did Index do the magic effects
And the whole 'shock factor' they put at the start really loses its edge when In the second episode they put a stop to it being a plot point entirely.
Also a really bad job telegraphing the 'twist' in the show but it had to be condensed for a 12 ep adaptation.
Thus far I'd give it a 5/10
Huh? Do you not know what animation is, or are you so biased against the show that you let it effect your judgement? Because you are quite literally the only person I've seen say the animation is bad. Not liking it is fine, but don't say blatantly false information.
And the show doesn't rely on shock factor at all, the title, synopsis, the cover art, and even the very beginning of the episode all make it very clear what the anime is about, and who the main character is.
Your opinion on not liking the show is fine and all, but saying the animation is stiff is just false all around.
