You file really fast. You should always test the iron by putting it on your face. I noticed you set your screws to be inline like the European rifle makers all do...good job.
Knock over a mahogany China cabinet onto a mahogany dining table. Neither were ever the same again however, they were a lot better after some steaming. And light refinish. Good work on that.

Ah man, that’s a shame. But at least you got some of it steamed out. I was really amazed how well the steaming worked.
