    Fantastic tires. Would recommend to anyone who wants to drive year around (even in snow) and still have 95% the dry grip of a summer tire. I used mine in snow and they just chewed through snow all while having amazing summer grip. Great choice!

    Those are THE best all season tires for places that get snow. I've been running them year round in Wyoming for about 5 years on 3 different vehicles. Loved every set I've had.

    I stand by the DWS06. I had these on my Charger 392 and they were fantastic year round, no matter the weather. They stuck like crazy in the rain, could pretty much drive through about 2 inches of snow before getting stuck(due to car height), they were also really really good in the warmer temps. Lasted me a pretty long time too.

    I’ve been running these tires on my 2018 Mustang GT since April 2021 it’s the third set of tires that I’ve had on the car since I bought it new in February 2018. These are the best set of tires that I’ve ever had lots of grip for all season. I could not be happier I’ve put 11,000 miles on in the last 2 1/2 years and I can’t complain.

    Summer tires are becoming less and less needed. Now adays with the compound technology we have high performance A/S tires are really all you need. Plus you get the added benefit of running them year round. I havent run a dedicated summer tire on any of my cars for years. I went from pilot sport 4S to the AS4 and could not tell any difference other than some slight loss of initial turn in response. Grip is far superior IMO in the AS tire especially when the temps drop.

    To give anyone insight as for the winter performance for me I have them on my AWD car and they've been through part of freezing ice/black ice, multiple snow storms and hilly roads and they've been no problem. It's certainly not on rails but they've been pretty damn good so far and predictable when one is slipping/sliding I think as long as you're driving carefully and understand how to drive in winter conditions these can be great!

  • @StangDivergent
    @StangDivergent ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I bought the same tires last year so I could swap them over during the winter just in case I needed to use it. They are quiet and feel nice and drive through snow decent. They do spin when at full throttle a lot more easily than the summer tires would and they will drift easier on corners with a slight heavy foot. I just plan on driving conservative with them so they last and waiting on the summer tires to get on the gas. I’m happy with them for all season for sure.

    I made the exact same switch on my modded 2015 WRX, PS4S to DWS06+. Grip improved after break-in. They don't quite have the same extreme precision and steering response when pushing them to the grip limits in the dry, as expected. They do feel a bit more vague in those situations. That being said, the dry grip is still exceptional. It is super hard to break them free into oversteer (which I could persuade the PS4S into on hairpin exits), the rubber compound is very sticky. Wet performance is amazing, better than the PS4S. They are very quiet and ride quality is very nice. Turn-in isn't as sharp as the PS4S but it is still satisfactory for an enthusiast in dry conditions. I have yet to try them in snow but I'll still be swapping to my X-Ice Snows as I live in the mountains. Overall it just made sense to go to a UHP all-season with these, despite my spirited driving habits and still having 2 sets of wheels. Now I don't need to stress about swapping early/late in the shoulder seasons and can leave my snow tires for actual winter conditions.

    • @Eddy-09
      @Eddy-09 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I went through the same switch on my M340i xDrive, where I previously had PS4s on some wheels I bought. The Michelins were already used (unsure on miles) yet still had decent tread at first. I one time ran into an unexpected snow storm on a small road trip, and as you can imagine, they were absolutely terrible. The car was all over the road. Could barely keep it straight, and there was zero stopping. It was basically like driving on skis. Well, that may have ruined the PS4s even more, and I feel the quality got worse after that. Even in the rain they felt very sketchy, it felt like they wanted to hydroplane. No confidence at all. Well, I finally got a new set of DWS06+ last weekend, so I’m very excited to try them out in the rain, and more in the dry, perhaps even snow if I have to (want to avoid the salt). I know once they get more miles on them (like he mentioned a few hundred) they will perform even better, but so far I’m really liking them!

    This is what I have on my 2020 Mustang GT. I live in the Arkansas Ozarks and these allow me to enjoy sporty driving all year long...especially on cold wet curvy roads. They also have performed very well in ice/snow with actual traction at the rear wheels. They are a bit expensive, but worth the price. I only got 19k miles out of the front 4Ss, but again, I am driving aggressively on curvy roads.

    Had the Continental DWS on my one Focus ST and did a couple winters with that and they did great for an all season tire. Good wet, dry and impressive snow traction for an all season. I would get another pair for sure. Only thing I noticed is the wear was a little more than I would have liked. You should like them, great choice for year round driving. The biggest thing for traction in the winter is going to be the sleds you have in there with those 275 or larger tires. I drove a Mustang GT(17 MY) and it had the stock size 255-40-19’s with Pirelli Snows and the width just killed traction. I never felt comfortable in deep heavy snow. Best winter option is a skinnier set of wheels with snows or some steelies with snows
    The 15-17 v6 mustang 17” aluminum wheel is a good choice with a snow tire imho
    Hope you like them

    I actually decided to go with these exact tires for my '17 GT PP recently. I hate that I can't afford a nice set of summer tires and a set of winter tires but i dont have that luxury. Where I live, it can be anywhere from 105+ to -5ish degrees and be dry, wet, snow, or ice I'm dealing with so I wanted a UHP All Season tire and these DSW06 Plus have been excellent so far but not tested in cold yet. I love them otherwise and the feedback and grip for normal and spirited daily driving they provide is great so I couldnt be any happier!

    I put the DWS 06 plus on my ND2 Miata six months ago. Not sure if I prefer them to the old Michelin AS3+, but those were discontinued by then. They're fairly grippy, they could be grippier, but then they wouldn't be an all-season. Regardless, it's great how good tires have gotten. The fact I can get near-summer performance out of an A/S is convenient. Hell, Michelin makes a tire that is rated as both an all-season and a 3-peak mountain snowflake snow-rated tire now.

    We just had our car (which happens to be a limited edition/production model) overhauled and tuned for ~$9k. Among the many services I requested was a new set of these exact same tires.
    Our previous set was the predecessor to the _Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus all-season tires._ My Service Advisor at the dealership had some difficulty acquiring these specific tires at first. He kept finding the standard DWS06 _without_ the Plus moniker. That "Plus" is what separates this _performance_ tire from just a standard set of rubber for your average sedan.
    We need the extra performance for our Sports Sedan. In fact, our entire service took an extra eight days of waiting just for a new set of these tires.
    However, I can vouch from experience that these new shoes are well worth the wait.

    I just bought a set for my 86. I live in Seattle so I never thought Michelin PS3 A/S were very good in wet conditions, but I really liked them in dry summer months. I also go through tires on that car in 2 years. After much research I got the Extreme Contacts and I've driven them on wet and they seem to be a small gain from Pilot Sports. They will skid out even on that slow of a rear wheel drive car but so will any A/S tire. Since I go through tires so fast I figured I could save a couple hundred and just see what Continentals were like since they were rated better for rain. So far so good I really cant tell the difference. My prior set of tires were Pirelli P Zero A/S which was an instant regret and bad choice for that car. Best tire I've had are BF Goodrich G Force A/S and that tire is way better than any I've mentioned. However that tire looks terrible on a 86, it looks good on a mustang or a wrx though. I've never ran summer and winter tires honestly. So I don't know those worlds.

Just came down to Florida from Toronto and bad bad not well balanced. Even though I insisted on the Hunter Road Force they are not balanced. Quite bad over 80. Will have to find a top notch tire balancer here in Orlando. I don't know why it is so hard to balance tires as the Stinger is a bitch, so was my Audi. Yet no one talks about the importance. I suspect I am a freak on well balanced tires. Anyways enjoy the new tires and hoping they are balanced for speed. Just too many lazy and incompetent tire shops.

    It's not your car with that bad alignment causing the tires to wear on the inside, it's the Mustang alignment from Ford, same thing with my 14,17, and my 21, long story short the best tire for traction and hooking up in first gear is the Goodyear Eagle F1, they are even better than the summer Tires, it's the only Tire I can keep floored in first gear with 3:55 gears without spinning.

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had mine on an alignment rack and the drivers side front wheel on mine was definitely off from a pothole or something.

    • @SHADOWBLACKs650
      @SHADOWBLACKs650 ปีที่แล้ว

      @MattMaranMotoring that will do it also, but that inside line of the tread is typical to wear out on front wheel Mustang alignment.... very annoying I had it show up at about 10,000 miles recently.

  • @plektosgaming

    I have had both and the Sport all season tires break traction a little sooner than the Continentals.( edit - actual breaking fee vs feeling sketchy - they DO feel like they will sooner, but actually don't) It's very close, but the treadwear difference and lower price sold me. No, not a summer tire, but worlds better than the OEM Pirellis they put on mine.

    I have been awaiting for ERay tires for my corvette in the all season as live in Midwest and go to Colorado a lot. The AS became an option when ordering the stingray and while I’ve researched the AS ERay that is same size as Z06 not available yet. Wrote Michelin too. You would think these tires should be even available at local dealerships as an article or two said. I wish you’d look into this issue. You might want to get a cheap rim for a spare. They do make a spare for. The Bullitt that fits in trunk

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I’d like to get the spare tire kit eventually. That’s weird about the E-Ray, I do know production has started so dealers must be able to order the tires soon, otherwise anyone that gets a flat is screwed.

    • @stephenr115
      @stephenr115 ปีที่แล้ว

      I urge you to get the non donut spare tire that fits in the trunk. Who know, it could avoid a big delay, a tow etc. I gave my son mine and I purchased the heavier jack (I think it is). The tire is substantial but not as wide and not limited to 50 miles as I recall. You might save your bacon and you’ll no doubt recover if you sell. You did have apparently 2 flats or loss of air pressure on 2 tires. Above average I think Matt. I think they are 200 something.

    • @stephenr115
      @stephenr115 ปีที่แล้ว

      American Muscle sells the tire on rim and kit that has that jack. 239.00 something. I was pleased with it and never wanted to be stranded with compressor and all that nonsense. Fits perfectly and you’ll feel secure having a non donut in the space meant for spare tire. Check them out! Maybe you should put down some rubber with the others? Lastly plugs etc going 60-85 legal speeds unsafe with a plug in my opinion.

    • @stephenr115
      @stephenr115 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, adding, you have new rubber but bolts, nails whatever can turn a good day into a bad one for sure.

  • @stephenr115

    Nice tires for sure but if you ever need a snow tire definitely look at Nokian the inventors of snow tires. One or several models made in Russia or China so be sure to get the Finland one. I have Hapakeletta for my Land Cruiser. Read up on this brand you’ll be impressed. Some states allow limited use of studded tires and states like Colorado full on use. In Illinois where I read the actual statute I was amazed they have use exceptions ; you can use them for a certain period of time and other conditions. IMy grandma had steel studded tires on her car every month and I still feel guilty borrowing her car at 17 and creating showers of sparks! I like how quiet mine are. I’ll be putting them on soon. There is a new Nokian with heavy side walls that I might buy next. Police like tires. I first bought them when my brother was using my suburban with essentially bald tires and it went sideways coming out of the famous Eisenhower Tunnel in ski country. He immediately took my car in and got this highly recommended brand. Again having a spare and maybe a real snow tire on your main family vehicle would be a good insurance policy! All Seasons are great but they do have limitations. A great topic and great review. Jaguar used the continental as OEM tire. I just love the smell of a tire shop!

    I've been contemplating this for my G70 3.3t I have been using Michelin Pilot sport 4s for years, but the continental's get GREAT reviews and are much cheaper. I've heard they're less stiff on turns, but more comfortable and quieter in straight line driving

    Interesting that Continental gave you free tires.I bought four 215/55/17 ZR rated DWS06 Plus tires in early 2022.Continental had a $100.00 rebate going on at the time of purchase. Despite completing and submitting all steps necessary for the rebate twice, Continental never sent us the rebate. Thanks Continental. Due to this and word of mouth,they have lost the sales of at least 120 of the same tires in the last 2 years.Sad as I am due for tires in a month.Not that they care.

    FYI: Using them on a 2016 Ford Mustang GT running square stance (285/35/R19) I bought the ExtremeContact DWS06 "Not Plus" when they were on sale during COVID and didn't get to use them until 2+ years later swapping them from my Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. The problem with the DWS06's is that since it has a softer outer wall, it will create a bulge and poke out more than other performance tires which was so disappointing to me because my indy 500's was sitting flush under the fender well but the DWS06 was poking out 1/3 to almost 1/2"" of an inch outside the fender well! The other two problems with these tires is that it gives you a little bounce /wiggle on WOT or going around corners where the Indy 500's would just take the corner like you're on a roller coaster with zero flex on the outer sidewalls compared to the DWS06. I will most likely sell these tires at a loss and go back to the Indy 500's because having your car create a little bounce isn't a good thing for the S550 platform especially when you have the Steeda Stop The Hop kit installed, I can only imagine if someone went WOT without the mods I have? I'm pretty sure the DWS06 Plus has the harder outer wall but just giving people an insight on how the DWS06 (Not Plus) performs on an S550 Mustang so you're not making the same costly mistakes like I did!
