How To Create Dark & Moody Aesthetic Instagram Reels and Tiktoks

- Today I'm showing you guys how I make my Dark and Moody Aesthetic Instagram Reels and Tiktoks. I use my own adobe lightroom presets for the filter and use the VN Video editor to edit the videos.
Nowadays Dark Aesthetic the viral mood going around instagram and tiktok. You can use the presets to also have dark aesthetic instagram feed. So as well on posts and reels.
I also show you how I turn my presets into LUTs to use on my reels.
All my reels are filmed with an iPhone. I don't use a camera for my reels, just youtube video.
* Please keep in mind that the presets are actually meant for pictures, so depending on the lighting of your video the results may vary. They are not LUTs, you can convert them (as seen in the video), if you want to or just use them on your pictures.

Hallo guys 💕 After a ton of dms about the process of turning the presets into LUTs here are a few things to keep in mind.
- The website that I use does have problems and it takes time until the HALD and the cube file is downloaded. You don't have to download the HALd from that website nor do you need to use that one. Any converter does the trick.
- The presets I use for my videos are created by me (originally for IG posts) and you can get them from etsy and use them on your pictures and videos if you want to. You can also do the same with other presets or just create your own, the process has nothing to do with my presets.
- In the video, it seems like I apply two filters to my video. They are both the same filter (#DARK), I imported it again to change the name.

@@Anonymous-ng7wv Dark and Moody 2.0 is the name of the bundle and 'DARK the name of only 1 Preset. Dark & Moody 2.0 has 10 Presets and 'DARK is also included in it.

This was my very first video I watched to learn how to properly implement and utilize the dark aesthetic filter to edit into my own personal reels and videos, and I have you to thank for this filter. It’s actually better than a lot of the default ones I’ve seen on VN (app), and CapCut. Keep up the great work, Mash, these dark aesthetic packages are some of my go-to’s when I want that nice grungy look and vibe. It’s pretty great. A wonderful digital investment I made. I use iCloud Drive to put the .cube onto my files and VN allows me to open it. But, when I apply it to the video the filter turns out to be green and purple and anything but the filter I created. Can you please help?

Thank you so much 💕 Just the filter I add them myself. You can just download fonts from the internet and add it to VN. I googled “elegant fonts” and got those 😊

How do you customize your own filter on vn
So you use 2 filters on all videos? Thank you! I bought the Luts and want your exact look
No I only use one. The reason why two filters are highlighted is because they are both the same. I just uploaded it again and renamed the filter for the sake of this video. You can use two filters if you want two but one is enough and thank you so much fo rwatching & supporting me 😊

I only use my phone and sometimes even my ipad 😂 I dont use a camera for reels.

can you show how you change the .cube file to work in VN? there’s a step missing in the tutorial.
Just export the .cube file to your phone and when you open VN there is a button that says "filters", click on that, than another view opens and there is a + button. Than click on "import from File APP" if that is where the preset is saved.

In VN when I try to add the line text I can’t seem to get the text box to delete ‘input title’. It looks like you hit the space bar a bunch of times but that isn’t working for mine
Delete the input title first, if that doesn't work type _ instead.

Hey , I have one question… why doesn’t my video looks dark as yours , after I choosed the dark filter ? Which filter do you use ? Do you use it twice if yes then how ?
That’s really weird. Have tried it with the other LUTs? Are you sure the file is not corrupted? If you can see a change maybe your video is too light that’s why the change of colour seems little. Try the other presents they are darker (also it depends on which bundle you are using)
@@mashstatic I bought the ( 9+1 Dark & Moody Aesthetic Presets ) I also choosed the dark filter but it wasn’t dark as yours . Is there any tips you have that I can try to fix this issue ?
And it doesn’t look nice as yours , The color looks messy and not neat

The website you’re using for demo doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Is there another way?
The website is working but it takes time until it downloads the cube file and the HALD. If it still doesn't work you can use 3dlutcreator.com to download a HALD and filestar.com/skills/png/convert-png-to-cube to convert the png to cube File :)

When you download the hald where can I find it on my iPhone? Like I downloaded one of the hald and nothing happens

after you've converted it from .cube, how do you transfer the filter on to VN? please explain thanks.
When you open VN there is a button that says "filters", click on that, than another view opens and there is a + button. Than click on "import from File APP" if that is where the preset is saved.
When I click on the import from file app then click on the presets saved it says VN unsupported file. Do you have an idea what cause that

Hey what settings do you export the video in? Mine keeps exporting blurry
You have to play around with the setting and see which one works because if you filmed with HDR the setting is different than if you didn’t film with HDR. So I save it in different settings depending on the video. Just play around

The cube file is not transferring to VN editor
In what quality do you film the videos ? Like in your camera settings, I’ve film some videos and when I posted to reels the quality goes sooo down

When you say that we should record our screen so we can later insert the music on VN, how do you insert the music without pasting also the video recorded?
Click on add music then extract from video.

Try downloading on your laptop or try another website to download the HALD for example 3dlutcreator.com

Just bought your presets, I've managed to download the halt and put the filter on it and save that however I can't convert it to a .cube, nothing happens when i click the button on my phone and on the laptop it says I dont have an application to open it in. Thank you x
Hi there. If you use your laptop you have to wait a little bit and th e website does download the cube file. You can't open the cube file if you don't have an application for it. VN video editor can open cube files. Just download the cube file and then open it with VN.

It takes time for it to start downloading. You can also download a HALD from 3dlutcreator.com or other websites 😊
Anyone else run into an issue with importing the converted file into VN? Doesnt seem to work for me when I try to import.

I have bought your lut presets, but i cannot save them to my Iphone. When I click the ... dots theres no save button anywhere. So i can't transfer them to VN. I can't really use them and I tried everything

Also you don't need to click the dots. Click an element and there is a save button right next to the three dots. As I said, contact me on etsy so I can send you screenshots.
Do you need a pc or can this all be done from an iPhone?
It can be done with a phone but it might be harder/slower specially when you have to convert the HALD.

Why when using editing apps especially VN , quality of videos are reducing a lot?
I know. Honestly I dont really know why that happens but its the same for me. Trying saving and filming in 4k. The quality will be go down once you upload to IG but not that much.
does this work with apps like capcut?
No unfortunately you can't upload your own filters on capcut. But you can use VN video editor which is very similar.

The filter is from VN. I created the filtrer myself by turning my presets into a video filter. If you watch the whole video, I show how I do that :)

Export the cube to your phone then either open it with VN or in VN you can click on filters then add filter. 😊

Hi, yeah the website needs a few minutes until it starts downloading the file. You can use any other converter just google "convert png to .cube".
Why the cube file is being downloaded as text file
Try downloading it again and rename it to .cube that should work.

The fonts that I use are online. You have to download them separately and then upload them to VN just like the filter 😊

I know VN is recommended for your filters and presets, but do you know how I can get them added to CapCut ?
Unfortunately, Capcut does not have this feature (you cant upload your own filters).

@@mashstatic I got your presets and I also converted all the files to .cube. However, when I airdrop them from my computer to my phone (files app), for some reason the VN app just shuts down. I can’t add the filter at all
@@meganjewell Make sure you update VN Video editor and try again. If that does not work download a HALD from 3dlutcreator.com and then perform the steps. The reason why it crashed is because the filter is too big. I also had that problem at first buht with the new version of VN it doesnt crash nomatter how big the file is.

Well first you have to install the presets to lightroom and then follow the instructions of this video. There are a ton of tutorial on youtube and google on how to install the presets tp lightroom and also if you bought the presets and downloaded the file, the file is an installation guide. Just follow the steps :)

Few months ago you weren’t able to use it with CapCut, not sure if they added that feature to the mobile app.
