@@Kickiusz Well a lot of the hard mode summoning weapons were actually buffed this patch, it's mostly the whips that were nerfed. The optic staff, for instance, is much better now

Kinda sad about the explosive bullet change, one of my favorite things to do with friends was shooting ourselves with the starcloak to cheese the pirate invasion, was it optimal? no was it fun? yes
Another really important change I haven't seen anyone mention: Breaking Altars no longer spreads random evil biome. This means cleansing worlds will now be MUCH easier, as all evil biome will either be where it originally spawned, or along the V stripes.
its so nice though; I got seven damn discount cards from 4 invasions (all from the last 2) and made 2 greedy rings for the hell of it cause of that. Pirate invasions are no longer the most annoying event finally.

One change that bothered me for Mage playthroughs was actually the Celestial Magnet being so powerful, as well as the fact that the standard Mana Regeneration Band being so necessary. ReLogic addressed both of these issues by putting Celestial Magnet into Sky Island loot, and buffed non-stationary Mana Regen to reduce dependency on Mana Regen potions or the Band.
you can still see them with danger sense, but its just the wires that you cant see or cut anymore which for me, is a lot better rather than the temple just being a thing easily disarmed by the grand design
One thing I haven't seen anyone talking about yet is that every item in the crafting tree for the ankh shield has another item it combines with, which come together to 5 accessories for the ankh charm But each of these accessories can now be thrown into shimmer to be converted into the other i.e: a bezaor will change into the adhesive bandage when thrown into shimmer
the merchant now sells ordinary healing potions when you reach hardmode - you know, when you can get the next and better tier of potions, rendering it pretty obsolete

Chlorophyte ore AND chlorophyte bricks can prevent nearby evil biomes from spreading to nearby blocks, if enough of the ore or brick is placed. this way, you only need to mine player-sized tunnels and place chlorophyte bricks to contain an evil biome instead of mining a 6 wide tunnel and still risk crimson vines spreading uncontrollably. It can also probably be useful for builders, who want to use contagious blocks in their builds, but don't want it to spread. edit: It seems like people are misunderstanding what I mean. Chlorophyte ore and bricks prevent all corruption/crimson/hallow from spreading to ANY type of block within an area if there is enough chlorophyte ore/brick. Not just as in chlorophyte can not be infected. Chlorophyte prevents spreding biomes from infecting OTHER blocks nearby.

I just wanna say how much I truly love this game. I first stumbled upon it via torrents. Yeah, I pitrated it. I had no idea what it was or what to expect. That was back in like 2011. I played completely organically on that pirated version before purchasing it at some point. I still continued to play it for awhile before looking anything up online (hints etc.). I have since purchased it on 4 times on 3 different platforms and still continue to play for hours straight. I will switch it up and play other games, but I always go back to Terraria. What a truly special and great game.
Skellington now sells a bread that makes you reach workstations from farther away, also, there's an axe upgrade to the staff of regrowth that replants trees
@@arthuranius yeah its massive, new moons, (I didnt realize this early on and spent WAY too long fishing for a damn crate aglet drop. Way better to just explore till he spawns with a lifeform analyzer/hunter combo) Radar too if you can't get that, but aglet more important.
The Enchanted Sundial change is the only one I asked for, and the only one that will manage to make my experience better. Not sure why they decided to nerf so many things instead of buffing the underpowered, unused items that will still be forgotten forever in favor of the exact same items everyone has been using since the dawn of 1.3... but now less fun.
Literally a whole class got buffed, and like half of the bosses got an extreme buff, but i can see your point, a lot of things are in a weird point where they are like okayish but neither good or bad, and not worth the effort
@@smore9831 With the changes to The true weapons and the terra blade (especially the terra blade) I’d say they got nerfed since crowd control wasn’t a problem but now boss damage is lacking with the boss buffs in this update
3:00 The exploding bullets being able to hurt the user was actually really powerful d if used in a specific manner. Combine it with a minishark, healing buffs and mage gear and you could shred bosses in multiplayer using falling stars.
@@gabrielandy9272 The problem with that idea is the fact once you've done basically everything there is to do outside of farming. The only really other fun options is breaking the game and exploits to see say how fast you can complete the game. People seem to forget exploits are like 90 percent of the speed running communities bread and butter strategy without making each Run a slog playing the normal way. Luckily the Beehive exploit is a thing now anyways so no worries there and theres no way to really change that one.

Yep. If you can't break the pressure plates before killing golem, then honestly you should start HOIK-ing into the boss room directly from now on. Then build a dirt floor above all the pressure plates in his room.
I want to mention that, Super Star Shooter projectile bounced off some bosses and Don't do any damage, so far the boss that deflects it are Golem and Destroyer in Master mode FTW I don't know if this depends on modes or seed. But i guess I'll find it out
1:05 This makes me want some sort of "astral projection" item that lets you go into ghost form without dying in hardcore. With certain limitations, of course. Like probably leaving your body behind, which can still take damage
As a sub-engineer the first time my friend and I made it to the Lizhard Temple I instantly told him I had a bad feeling when I couldn't see any wires and he rushed ahead and got obliterated by traps and I followed soon after his light went out.
Another impactful change is that you can now get walls that allow enemy spawns. That means you can expand or make new biomes like the dungeon or underground desert And there's of course a lot more that has changed, I'm still reading the changes nad discoveting new things
@@diamando7932 yeah, I was checking item ids and shimmer on the wiki and they added for example "cursed blue slab wall" I'm assuming it actually allows enemies to spawn
because that way people cant cheese her by being lucky with dodge accessories, instead of properly dodging the patterns, its harder but more fair at least, since she is supposed to be difficult anyway
They are rare, but i think it's pretty much better than everything else. On multiplayer someone always gets the gravity potion, rushes to get the wings and everyone else is stuck with a higher jump or no fall damage, meanwhile the guy with the wings has that combined even before the tinkerer workshop
@@cd7677 Punish this behaviour m dynamiting every time they don't expect it. Bullied one of my friends this way, and he decided we should have a pvp tournament for it(there were 4 of us). The original owner ended up dead last, even though we allowed him to use the wings during the tournament. This is even better now as fledgling wings are very rare now.
Something I’ve noticed that nobody that I know of is talking about is how the wall of flesh got buffed in for the worthy. There are now a bunch of fire imps that spawn in with the wof that have more health and deal more damage (~200 with all warding accessories and molten armor plus ironskin). Their fireballs are also much faster (2-3x) and can’t be destroyed. Also from what I’ve experienced they are infinitely spawning and killing one results in two more spawning. I am pretty bad at Terraria, but I decided to give master mode for the worthy a try after beating expert and master mode and I’ve been stuck on the wof for a few weeks (I rarely play). I was consistently getting the wof below 20% health, but now can’t even get it below 90% because of the imps. I’ve tried all the strategies (beenades, explosive rabbits, etc.) but it still doesn’t help. I feel like I’m playing Halo 2 LASO all over again and the imps are the jackal snipers except they can teleport in front of you and one tap you if you touch them. I get that’s supposed to be the hardest game mode aside from hardcore, but there has to be a limit right?
tester here, we don't really test ftw much outside being beatable, it's a meme seed and it's supposed to be unbalanced, tho i can say we faced some scaling issues with wof imps before the update came out, i tought we fixed that, i will try testing it more in a couple of days and see if the damage can be fixed.
@@Certified_Dante Legitimately the worst change of the update by far, it's awful now. I don't see what reason they would have nerfed it, it's not like the old black spot where it could easily outrun bosses. It was just a decent limited flight mount.
I just tested it to see how harsh the nerf really is; I don't think it's much of a big deal to be honest. I'm a big fan of the gelatinous pillion and I don't see myself abandoning it because of this, it still does what it needs to; provides terrific vertical movement without sacrificing flight/gliding.
the fletchling wings change is genuinely one of the most frustrating changes ever. the lucky horseshoe was PERFECT as underground loot, and it made sense being there since fletchling wings were simply a straight upgrade to them. now they're a fucking hassle to get for no reason. this is the ONLY change i'm genuinely mad at, simply cause it just feels like relogic took a step forward with the previous change to lucky horseshoe's placement, and now they've metaphorically fallen down the stairs with this change.
Haha, no. I use two minecart tracks across the world and the Rod of Discord to dodge every single attack without a single chance of getting hit. I have never once fought her directly, even at night, and I will continue getting as many Terraprismas as I can for completely free. Why bash my head against a wall when I can use my brain instead, ya know? Now I don't even have to worry about using the bad armor just in case I mess up, and I can beat her with summons even faster by just clicking on my screen every 30 seconds. Also, yeah! I would rather kids or those with disabilities be completely locked out of content than possibly have my "digital accomplishments" (elitism) tarnished by them having fun in their own game! Having an item in a video game (ones and zeroes on my hard drive) is SO rewarding, and it would distinctly infringe upon my honor for others to lay claim to MY stolen glory!!!
I was literally about to start golem when this update dropped and had no idea they changed being able to see wires in the golem temple until now. I guess it adds a bit more challenge but man does that feel pretty lame lol especially after I crafted a grand design earlier for this specific instance.
my favorite obscure change is that they added the celestial magnet to the sky chests loot. i've never got one before bc the traveling merchant sucks, so now my mage is even stronger!
Thank God I play on console. Now I gotta kill daytime EoL before this update drops in 2 years otherwise I'm stuck with the most unfun boss made even more unfun by removing dodge. I hope the next update lets summoners have as much options as the other classes do and that they start buffing underused weapons.

As someone who's barely started playing again as of recently (but feels like they have made lots of progress within almost 40), is stuff like Hallow armor worth making? It has been at least six years since Puglord has played Terraria and the last time he played this game, it was on mobile but now plays on console.
They made it much more generous for NPCs to sell a pylon. Before, you’d have to keep them in a biome they like, with an NPC they like, with fewer than 4 NPCs in total just for the pylon. Now, all you need is two goods. I.E good biome no neighbours, good NPC good biome etc.
I’ve gotta ask what do you do after you complete the game, like yeah I’ve completed it multiple times but after that I was just like what am I meant to do now, idk I’ve always been intrigued by it I guess
I hate this, they added a new honey super sponge and a sponge for every single liquid, but no one talks about it and so no one knows or has posted the obtaining method online, and i hoped to see it here

Wasn't it 5-wide? I've always filled those with normal stone bricks, which don't get contaminated.

They probably changed exploding bullets to get rid of this exploit, not to make them less irritating to use.

As a sub-engineer the first time my friend and I made it to the Lizhard Temple I instantly told him I had a bad feeling when I couldn't see any wires and he rushed ahead and got obliterated by traps and I followed soon after his light went out.
Another impactful change is that you can now get walls that allow enemy spawns. That means you can expand or make new biomes like the dungeon or underground desert
And there's of course a lot more that has changed, I'm still reading the changes nad discoveting new things

They're still there, just much rarer.
They are rare, but i think it's pretty much better than everything else.
On multiplayer someone always gets the gravity potion, rushes to get the wings and everyone else is stuck with a higher jump or no fall damage, meanwhile the guy with the wings has that combined even before the tinkerer workshop
@@cd7677 Punish this behaviour m dynamiting every time they don't expect it. Bullied one of my friends this way, and he decided we should have a pvp tournament for it(there were 4 of us). The original owner ended up dead last, even though we allowed him to use the wings during the tournament. This is even better now as fledgling wings are very rare now.
Having to fight for it is cool lol, rarer resources like that offer that, it is still unbalanced

Something I’ve noticed that nobody that I know of is talking about is how the wall of flesh got buffed in for the worthy. There are now a bunch of fire imps that spawn in with the wof that have more health and deal more damage (~200 with all warding accessories and molten armor plus ironskin). Their fireballs are also much faster (2-3x) and can’t be destroyed. Also from what I’ve experienced they are infinitely spawning and killing one results in two more spawning. I am pretty bad at Terraria, but I decided to give master mode for the worthy a try after beating expert and master mode and I’ve been stuck on the wof for a few weeks (I rarely play). I was consistently getting the wof below 20% health, but now can’t even get it below 90% because of the imps. I’ve tried all the strategies (beenades, explosive rabbits, etc.) but it still doesn’t help. I feel like I’m playing Halo 2 LASO all over again and the imps are the jackal snipers except they can teleport in front of you and one tap you if you touch them. I get that’s supposed to be the hardest game mode aside from hardcore, but there has to be a limit right?
tester here, we don't really test ftw much outside being beatable, it's a meme seed and it's supposed to be unbalanced, tho i can say we faced some scaling issues with wof imps before the update came out, i tought we fixed that, i will try testing it more in a couple of days and see if the damage can be fixed.

I don't see what reason they would have nerfed it, it's not like the old black spot where it could easily outrun bosses. It was just a decent limited flight mount.

I'm a big fan of the gelatinous pillion and I don't see myself abandoning it because of this, it still does what it needs to; provides terrific vertical movement without sacrificing flight/gliding.

the fletchling wings change is genuinely one of the most frustrating changes ever. the lucky horseshoe was PERFECT as underground loot, and it made sense being there since fletchling wings were simply a straight upgrade to them. now they're a fucking hassle to get for no reason. this is the ONLY change i'm genuinely mad at, simply cause it just feels like relogic took a step forward with the previous change to lucky horseshoe's placement, and now they've metaphorically fallen down the stairs with this change.

Haha, no. I use two minecart tracks across the world and the Rod of Discord to dodge every single attack without a single chance of getting hit. I have never once fought her directly, even at night, and I will continue getting as many Terraprismas as I can for completely free. Why bash my head against a wall when I can use my brain instead, ya know? Now I don't even have to worry about using the bad armor just in case I mess up, and I can beat her with summons even faster by just clicking on my screen every 30 seconds.
Also, yeah! I would rather kids or those with disabilities be completely locked out of content than possibly have my "digital accomplishments" (elitism) tarnished by them having fun in their own game! Having an item in a video game (ones and zeroes on my hard drive) is SO rewarding, and it would distinctly infringe upon my honor for others to lay claim to MY stolen glory!!!

As someone who's barely started playing again as of recently (but feels like they have made lots of progress within almost 40), is stuff like Hallow armor worth making? It has been at least six years since Puglord has played Terraria and the last time he played this game, it was on mobile but now plays on console.
Hallowed Armour took Titanium Armour's buff, so absolutely. Titanium now summons barriers of shards that hit enemies instead of making you invincible.
I'm not happy with ancient Armour sets being able to be created

It seems like happyness as a mechanic was removed. I somehow haven't seen anybody talking about this yet, though.
They made it much more generous for NPCs to sell a pylon. Before, you’d have to keep them in a biome they like, with an NPC they like, with fewer than 4 NPCs in total just for the pylon. Now, all you need is two goods. I.E good biome no neighbours, good NPC good biome etc.
Don't throw stacks of guide voodoo dolls in lava. Very regrettable.
