    I have some of the most complex, expensive and fantastic VST instruments ever made. Despite that, I don't think I have a single published track (10 albums over 13 years) that doesn't employ the use of Subtractor. I have over 400 custom patches that I've programmed in Subtractor, maybe half of which were programmed from scratch. This is easily the most versitile and overall useful soft synth I own. I started programming with it in Reason v2 and haven't stopped since. As simple as it is, it remains my favorite soft synth and is definitely my go-to tool for quick capture of ideas.

    Been using this synth since ver 1. It was the only virtual analog one available in the beginning. Made so much good music with it over the last 20 years.

    My comment is that there is some sort of gain issue in Reason instruments. The
    newer synths are ok, like Europa. Kong seems to by default reduce the gain
    of samples by 20% or so. I think the propellerheads team was very concerned
    with clipping as there was no global compression before the SSL mixer. Thanks!

    • @itsdjQuasar
      @itsdjQuasar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I find myself gaining samples up as well. You could just work from that volume (lower the synths and whatnot) but it can be a little bit of a pain when you add something later in the production process. Headroom isn't bad but it CAN be too quiet as well. Thanks for watching!

    11:25 Can you use the "Mix" option on the envelope and use the mix knob in the Osc section to use both Osc's?

    • @itsdjQuasar
      @itsdjQuasar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I remembered after that you can flip the rack and route the Modulation Output "Mod Env" into the Modulation Input "Osc Pitch" via CV cable. That will modulate both. 🙃

    • @itsdjQuasar
      @itsdjQuasar  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, That "Mix" parameter modulates the mix knob. Mixing between OSC 1 and OSC 2 like a crossfader on a dj mixer.
