She has such clarity of thoughts. And the best part is she is able to articulate them beautifully.
I follow her on Instagram and had to come here to watch it. She’s hilarious, sorted and educated in true sense.

Tamkenat, your insight on Ahmad's question regarding women's rights was profound and highly respected. The notion that career-focused parents in the West neglect their children was challenged effectively. In my experience, numerous families in my area, where both parents are professionals, raise exceptional children. It often boils down to the socio-economic and educational background of the family. Educated families, regardless of their career ambitions, tend to prioritize their children's well-being.

Tamkenat nailed talking about and defending aurat march and feminism. Feminism started from voting rights and not pulling women in tax bracket like Ahmed said. Any movement that disrupts the patriarchal mindset is maligned viciously and Ahmed has long been brainwashed against it. So glad that Tamkenat talked about it very convincingly and logically. Well done!! ⭐

What an incredible guest to have! Ahmed needs to educate himself on the distinction between women's rights and feminism. For centuries, women have been controlled through financial dependence, and now, when they choose to stand up for themselves, it's often mislabeled as feminism or a "Western agenda."
In reality, women in the West don’t work solely because they want to shatter the corporate glass ceiling-many do so because they have to. A single salary often isn’t enough to support a household. And can we also finally acknowledge that raising children is not just the mother’s responsibility?
Just because a man brings home a paycheck doesn’t mean he’s absolved of the responsibility of actively participating in parenting. Fatherhood involves more than financial support; it means being present, engaged, and involved in the day-to-day upbringing of the children. Our culture shouldn't be where women are 100% responsible for the children's upbringing while men just occasionally play fatherhood.

It's about time the host took a break from podcasting to read and research about landmark feminist and political movements. His obsession with the Aurat March question in nearly all his podcast interviews exposes his deep unawareness, especially when he is sitting opposite well informed, articulate and deeply aware women like Tamkenat. Tamkenat do us a favour, recommend some books or documentaries to the host.

I am so very impressed by her intellect, her articulation, and her ability to communicate without judgment. She truly hit the nail on the head!
She's so right: our society needs basic human rights...and he's pitting cultures against cultures. "Western agenda"? Children neglected because parents work? Children benefit the most when parents, especially mothers, are educated. I've lived in Western countries and have seen first hand the amount of effort these parents put into raising their children and keeping them safe. Just because they have different methods and culture doesn't mean they're endangering or neglecting their children or raising them badly.
As humans and parents first, we should learn from each other's positive traits, not undermine each other. Those are basic principles of humanity. Let's not forget.
Our Pakistani society needs to increase access to safety and education for everyone, especially women. That's a fact. That doesn't mean we are against our own culture and our values. It means we want to protect and uplift our people.

Sir you need to do some fact checking. Overseas parents know their responsibility to raise responsible adults and be a part of society.
Parents share their role of parenting and there are all hard working people.

  • @askhan75
    @askhan75 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

With due respect I completely disagree with your statement regarding western family values and structure. Most families here are working full time (including myself) and we are raising beautiful children. They are deeply rooted and not neglected at all!
The mindset of a woman not participating in household income is not Islamic at all.Our Prophet PBUH and His wife Hazrat Khadijah are one of strong examples we have to follow in front of us.
Your Podcasts are amazing but please stop propagating negative and baseless agenda regarding working women and judging their capabilities regarding balancing their work and family.
Happy to hear how guest has handled this silly question/assumption so intellectually!!

Such an enlightening episode, both of you delved deep into serious societal issues, surprisingly.
Ahmad, please make people more aware and clear out the distinction between western feminism and eastern feminism.
West no doubt has gone far ahead toward exploiting leftist feminism but in the East, women are still suffering. Any movement of women rights in Pakistan is a dire current need, it may or may not be western agenda. Higher education and career advancement is not western culture, these r Islamic values of golden era.
Islamic feminism has never been practiced in indopak region in its true essence. We suffer from patriachy and misogyny of hindu culture.

I think the concept of working families where both mum and dad bring something on the table financially is the needs of time! but women should not be doing the hard core jobs! It’s the man who should be doing this! Household chores should also be shared proportionately between both parents so that the mother can contribute more towards nurturing and bringing up kids! In an ideal situation a man should provide an enabling environment for the mother! Unfortunately such families are very far and few between!

She is so smart and way ahead of her age
I don’t believe where this idea of western society not caring for their kids/ family is coming from. Maybe because people who make these statements are not fully aware of how things are, in the western world, and this same misconception you can see in the western world about eastern/ Muslim countries as well
