Not in the slightest bit. Honestly I think people have been maxing out the poundage thinking it would still be fine to launch the steel balls when in all actuality it's like dry firing. The steel balls are 12mm and don't really weigh much. If I was gonna up the poundage then I'd shoot only arrows through it.
