Thanks for sharing, an interesting era with the blue coaches and the later green GWR power units
Glad you enjoyed it
I remember as a little kid, we had travelled on these FGW hsts alot.
Nice to see the transition period of Livery FGW to GWR both great colours, and the 57 at the end of the footage 👍
I used to spot the FGW's at my favourite spotting place - Pencoed. As soon as the barriers went down on the crossing you used to hear a distant rumble - at that point you knew it would be the Swansea - Paddington service. They would zoom past giving me tones, and they would continue to rumble far away even once the barriers went up! Good times.
Excellent video compilation 👌🏻 Love those pure diesel spots along with the good old semaphore signals 😍
Thanks!

Excellent railway video compilation of the GWR HST.
Thank you very much!
What a super video! Prefer dark green livery of GWR. Thanks for sharing.

What's the name of the station at 1:55 ?
I believe it is Oldfield Park, on the GWML between Bath and Bristol Temple Meads
Hi, fantastic shots of the HST. I'm a regular viewer and have been a subsriber for years. I am doing a video on my Dean Park channel of the MK3 coach and Hornby's new model of it. Would I be able to use some of your footage in that video, I would give you full credit of course. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers. Dave
Yeah of course Dave, did you end up using the footage of the Class 92?
Great video
Thanks!
I love the fgw livery, it looks super tacky but I’m really nostalgic for it.
The best livery HST had the GWR green not bad ,long live the class 43
Now these are the best type of trains the United Kingdom has ever had. Their the trains that should have run all over the UK. If i was the political leader of Great Britain instead of Boris Johnson and it was up to me then i would make sure the HST trains ran and served every single station all over the UK and bring back the name British Rail no matter what.
HSTs are not bad for InterCity services (if you overlook the appalling crash safety and disability unfriendliness) but they would not be suitable for stopping services as they are very slow to accelerate. Also they are diesel powered so replacing an electric train with one would be silly. That and they are 40 odd years old and mechanically buggered
They accelerate painfullly slowly which makes not good for stopping services
GWR has the second best hst
My opinion gwr hst looks better
I think EMR has the best their a current real HST
Oh and also I think they sound better
I think FGW HSTs look so beautiful, as well as East Coast HSTs. GWR HSTs look modern but a bit bland.
