Please bear in mind, TH-cam compression ruins footage!

Even if your video is recorded and edited in 1080p, if you export and upload in 4K it allows for a higher bitrate during playback on youtube. Could help with the visible compression during the darker scenes.
      Great video by the way!

@@yuppymike thanks dude. I did try that a couple of years ago (uploading in 1440p) and saw a little benefit, need to investigate again. My biggest issue atm is that I'm in a remote area of Turkey and uploading a 4k 20 minute vid would take days 😅

16:00 In camera noise reduction eats stars.. amazing, I remember my first DSLR in 2007. - Nikon D80, had a very nice photo but in camera noise reduction was crippling stars or just removing them. There was a way to go around this by turning off the camera during exposure. So I sold the camera and took Canon 350D and still using Canon system till this day because of this. Canon has the best color and lens support, also software. I just cannot pay 3k for camera that removes stars and still has amp glow in 2021.-2024.

What do you think of the a7c... a7iii replacement? I don’t do video so it’s interesting to me. Anyway nice vlog, keep them up

Great portable option of the A7iii with a flippy screen. I like the look of it :)

How good is this for Astro photography?

    • @mirrorlessny

it's good, but 12mp is not enough for many

Great looking Video and settings info, you are the Astro camera guy!!! Now if possible how about photography compare. For me 12MP no problem started with the A7S in 2014 and now with Topaz Gigapixel MP's not really a big deal. Figured A7Sii would drop in price but got discontinued, I was looking forward to Bright Monitoring and ISO Invariance. But the difference between A7iii 24MP and A7Siii 12MP is a little bit more light gathering (bigger pixels). Would like to see what you think between each because you go to the darkest places!!!

How did the a7sii got discontinued?? It's still widely sold here in every camera store on and off-line? --maybe the store you've looked for it to buy it from has just stopped selling it? --I mean even the a7s1 is still being sold ?

@@RaymondKPhotoVideography When I went to B&H, Adorama and Amazon shortly after A7Siii came out at $3500 and all stated discontinued. I do not do video and no one shows astrophotography with the A7Siii so no big deal, I have the original and is brighter than the 7iii with same lens and with topaz denoise and gigapixel. Yea now it is in stock but I will wait for the same price as new A7iii. And who cares about "Star Eater" C1 and clarity in Lr bring em out!

I think A7S3 is cleaner & captures more color in low light vs A73, I should do another low light test with just these two cameras

I dream about buying Sony a7s camera for meteor shower filming. Do you think S3 is worth it since it has star eater while filming? And maybe you suggestions what lens is best for meteor filming? How about Sigma 20mm f1.4?

    • @mirrorlessny
      @mirrorlessny 4 ปีที่แล้ว

A7S3 is worth it, Raw recording has no noise filtering(star eating) but need external monitor/recorder for that, the Sony 24mmf1.4GM might be best - research, I think it was made with astro in mind

@@mirrorlessny Thank you, but there is no way I would record all night in raw :D Wouldn't it be something like 10TB in few hours?

@@Topazzas yea that's one of the RAW negatives, hopefully in future firmware updates we will be able to turn off de-nosing(star eater) for in-camera recording

How many stops of light would a full spectrum conversion bring to this camera ? That's essentially what moonlight cameras are, I'm I wrong ?
