you have herpes virus. it's always with you and if you have a coldsore and kiss /sexual relations can give to your partner. even transfer it to the "down there" area.
you dont get "new" cold sores, once youve had them they stay in small amounts in your body in nerve cells. when you get visible cold sores, it probably means your immune system is weakened and they produce some sores again
