I think this, in part, is what makes KAI a successful company: if you want top-of -the-line get a ZT. Cannot afford that? They offer some variants branded as Kershaw that may get you to, say, 80%-90% of the ZT at a fraction of the cost. You have options. Personally, I think the ZT rocks.
Yep. You broadened my education this morning. Two weeks ago I received the Kershaw Link 20cv green aluminum scales, and I do like it. I am a fan of ZTs and will eventually add the ZT0357 to my ZT collection, but right now I'm saving up for a Microtech Ultratech.

Lot of good points not made by others comparing the 2 knives. Something else...the 357 has a stronger spring....someone took the knives apart in their video...matters in the long run. Oddly they said they thought the Link felt "more snapy". In the end the ZT is like you said the "more premium version of the Link...". Is it worth the added cost ? Can we afford the extra $70 CAD? Would we be happy with the 20cv LInk? Are we a ZT znob who won't touch a Kershaw branded knife?? :)

G10 does eat up drill/milling bits, and I was suprised to learn how much Micarta burns up bits as well as how toxic the dust is. I don't know if its absolute truth, but I was told/warned that Micarta dust is the worst thing you can breathe in.
You know they are basically the same steel. M390 is newer. It's also a German steel where 20CV is American. 99% of users would never know the difference, given identical blade geometry and good heat treatment. I personally think that 20CV might have just a little bit of an advantage when it comes to ease of sharpening. So given how similar they are I might go with the ZT just because I like the feel of it.

Where could I get another clip for my zt. I was sitting and as I stood up my clip snagged on the side of the chair anf it bent. Its usable but I took it off to try and flex it back into a tighter angle and I lost the screws so I got screwed out of a clip.
I love the blade shape and design. But….. unfortunately I can’t carry it for more then a few hours because the blade will start developing surface rust. Never had experienced this, not even with a Walmart $10 folder.
You’ve either got a fake, a different knife all together or you’re full of shit. All of these knives use very high quality stainless steels. 20CV is VERY stain/rust resistant. You could leave it in saltwater for an hour and it wouldn’t rust, let alone in your pocket. You’re either a liar or a moron. Possibly both.
See the very definition of "practically the same" is "different" Some folks care about those small quality differences. Admittedly some don't. But I'm not sure if you are trying to sum up the point of the video, or missed it completely. The funny part is your comment could be used to support either one of those assumptions.

Well shucks...i'm just a dude. But when it comes to affordable EDC, there are some pretty good options out there that I like. Check out Kershaw and CRKT, Ganzo, and Kubey. They all offer some really good knives that you can count on at pretty reasonable prices. Thanks for trusting my opinions!

Must be very abrasive. Aluminum can wear tooling also and they told us in machining class it was because it was abrasive, as is stainless steel. But it was over 20 years ago I was in trade tech

I've owned both and the Link never even made it into my pocket I loved the way it looked online but as soon as I saw that green and put it in my hand I never cared for it. I've been carrying a link for two years. I got it at tractor supply for $20! Mostly for self defense but I do use it for box tape and such.

Great video and that stonewash blade on the ZT looks amazing.
The thicker liners on the ZT is all I needed to know to go with the ZT over the Link.

I just took a screw out of another knifes pocket clip and used it for that. I bent it a bit but I fixed it enough to be usable.
