ZT is all I buy even though I’m not crazy about the change from their old school tank knives. Thankfully this ZT 0308 seems like a blast from the past. Waiting for my TS version in the mail. Benchmade and Spyderco’s feel like toys to me. ZT feels like a tool.
I would like the 0562TI and 0562CF, I purchased the 0308 and love it. I have also got used to it in my pocket but then I'm a really big man and have really large hands. I also want to purchase the 0393GLCF. Thanks for your review and optimism on the 0562.
I like both these knives but I made my mind up on the hinderer eklipse gen 3 harpoon tanto. Rc blade works said if I buy it and send him my knife he’ll make me a free set of micarta scales for me since he hasn’t had his hands on it to make a jig.
I think the 0308 with green micarta scale from USA Made Blade looks really good. They did have a carbon fiber scale version too but it sold out quick and I haven’t seen them restock it.
i picked up the 308 from American Made Blades. I chose the od green canvas micarta and i love how it looks! As far as weight in the pocket , i have to say i don't even notice it. I really love the knife and ZT did a great job on it. Except for one thing.... whoever chose the stock handle color made a mistake imho. It looks waay better with what you will find at American Made Blades. Other than the stock handle color it is perfect!
The 308 needs the deep carry pocket clip like the 562. How did they miss the boat of this obvious bad pocket clip. An Aftermarket deep carry that does not go behind the scale is just not great. Hope somebody does a smart deep carry clip that wraps over the back and maybe has a shorter last spacer to fit.
Does the 0562 slip in wet hands since it seems so smooth? I think for me that is the thing that is making it difficult to choose which knife to get- I prefer the all titanium (0562), but I prefer the gripping on the 0308
I just picked up a 0562TI I really like it so far. One thing I noticed is the titanium has a stonewashed finish which gives it a little texture. I was actually kinda surprised how not slippery it feels.
I really want to like the 0308 but it feels incomplete. If it had a black washed blade it would look better with the brown handle and black hardware. Given that I'm really not a fan of either as they set. I'd have to do the carbon fiber to even get close as I prefer the 0560.
@steve jones I plan on it. Just did my first set of mods on a Manix to start learning. I want to make sure I can before going at a $300 knife. Gonna do a few more even lower prices than the Manix before I try it.
Yea, I watch these reviews where they make a big deal about how one knife is 1oz heavier than the other. I can't even tell with the 308 in in my pocket. Hell I have a Espada xl that I take on hikes and can't feel? I figure most of these folks all where skinny jeans or their pants down around there ass??

comparison?? :) One is a larger knife with a larger blade ...."smaller" knife has Ti scales (more "premium" scale material ironically....for a "cheaper" knife). The 308 is about $150 CAD MORE money....what's common? Both are illegal to carry in public :))

I like the natural micarta version so I purchased a scale for my knife to.

I wear skinny jeans and it still fits, some people just love to find things to complain about I find.
I think that the ZT models are the best option in framelock.
I love the shape of ZT 0308 and how smoothly it opens but its a tad too expensive for me are there any good cheaper alternatives?

The 308 needs full titanium construction with that same texture imo. That’d make it a buy for me even with a price increase.
With you on the satin finish. It just looks better. I'm also a sucker for the drop point. Would love to see that crisp action on the 0562!
I was able to pick up a micarta scale from usamade blade last week and it's amazing. But ya I own both as well 😉
I added the polished micarta scale, and a lynch clip, and it's like it's an entirely different knife. I love it

I knew the 0308 is a large knife, but wow! Seeing it beside the 0562 really puts it into perspective.

I EDC my 4 max scout and the weight don't bother me as long as I have pants on with a belt lol

Not sure about price difference justification. But a lot of reviewes show torrent is a better deal and better knife.
If you can still get the Reate Torrent, buy it. If you can afford it you should buy both of them. If you can't afford it you should buy both of them.
The price difference it totally worth it and if you find a torrent on the secondary market you may get it for under 250 then its an even better value

Zt308 is WAY nicer than 562.
The wrench pivot is another bone-headed idea from ZT. They should copy the hollow pivot on a Sanrenmu 1161 that takes a 3 mm or 4 mm hex key.
