A road trip to the Lake District National Park

I’m Ant I live in the North East of England.
Today I took a road trip to the Lake District National Park to price rebuilding some drystone wall. Stopping off along the way at Ullswater and Windermere to take in some beautiful sights as well as a spot of lunch.
I really hope you enjoy this different type of video but thought you all might like to come along for the ride as this is yet another part of my country life and shows how fortunate am I to live where I do.

Glorious My Mum grew up in Kilbarchan and met my Dad at the Edinburgh festival, then joined him in Canada and had we six, so we were familiar with Glasgow and visited our cousins but one year they hauled us out of school for April, we visited Killicrankie and Struan, Loch Ness, Skye Mull and Edinburgh I loved it but next year I and my SO are headed back and the lake district is lovely! so thats on my list!

So beautiful. I was interested to see all the Canada geese. I live in northern British Columbia, Canada and there are now so many that they have become a problem for parks and beaches, not to mention people’s lawns☺️. Municipalities are having to get creative with how to control the populations in the public spaces and clean up the poop. When I was a little kid, 50 years ago, they were rare to see.
Beautiful country, great photography and no man made signs such as billboards to mar the beauty. Thank you!

It's just as beautiful as the first time we spent a week near Keswick in March 1964. Honeymoon, poor university students, no fancy resorts for us back then, but it was enough. Went back in 1977 to show the kids, on a visit back home from Canada. Thank you and the missus for lovely memories. 🤗 💖

Beautiful. Love a video like that, especially this one as it brought back happy memories of family visits to the Lake District when my children were small. Picnicking lakeside and the fun of getting our feet in as many babbling brooks as we could. Simple pleasures back then but I must say, I’m lucky enough to still enjoy dipping my feet in an icy cold stream wherever possible😲.

Thanks Ant, a favourite place of mine as I spent many days out there in my childhood. Living in North Yorkshire it wasn't too far to go and my parents often drove up there on a Sunday. Our first sailing holiday was on Lake Windermere aboard a cruiser called Miss Langdale. My last visit 18 months ago, I was over from Australia and I drove up with my sister to visit Dove Cottage: Mrs Wordsworth could have done with your help Ant - a drafty and smoky place. William was always off with Coleridge and Southey composing and she was left to it. Rydal Mount - their second home was a big improvement! Even in winter, everywhere was magical. 🍺🍺
