    sir u said there will be no coriolis force at the equator.......but how the SW MONSOON affecting deflection near equator with zero coriolis force????????hope ur reply!!!! and i apprecite lot for ur work sir....

    • @PoorMansFriend
      @PoorMansFriend  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Santosh Reddy
      At equator Coriolis force is zero. But what after you cross the equator? The object will be subjected to Coriolis force.
      At equator Coriolis force is 0. At 1 meter to the north of equator, there is Coriolis Force. At 1 km, 10 km,....

    sir one doubt ...whether cylones formed at equator or not??i studied from one source tat eventhough equator has low pressure belt cylones will not formed bcos "At the equator, the Coriolis force is zero and the wind blows perpendicular to the isobar.The low pressure gets filled instead of getting intensified. That is the reason why tropical
    cyclones are not formed near the equator".....bt in ur pdf "the trade winds from two hemispheres meet at the equator, and due to convergence they rise and cause heavy rainfall"....plzz clarify me sir

    • @PoorMansFriend
      @PoorMansFriend  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +sanjeev kumar
      Cyclones don't form between 5 degree north and south of equator because of low Coriolis force.
      the statement "the trade winds from two hemispheres meet at the equator, and due to convergence they rise and cause heavy rainfall" is also correct.
      Convergence simply means that the trade winds meet at the equator and rise. the convergence is not cyclonic.
      Cyclonic convergence creates spiraling upward movement of wind.
      Non-cyclonic converge is the convergence of wind without spiraling or without forming a cyclonic vortex.

    sir Loo originates at the hot regions of baloch, great indian desert. and blows towards the relatively colder indo gangetic plains----but at hotter places there should be subsidence at surface levels and divergence at surface level in gangetic plain, so if this is a surface wind, how come direct west to east? or doest it blow at greater heights, in which case effects of loo would have been negligible. I know i am missing something. Plz help.

    • @jyotishmanmudiar5958
      @jyotishmanmudiar5958 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      okey i was neglecting the orographic winds. i assumed it to be convection wind. Got it now.

      Local winds originate locally. They are not due to atmospheric subsidence of air.

    In the months of May-June(when loo is present), the ICTZ is above the Tropic of Cancer & passes through the Indo-Gangetic plane. Hence, North India recives much higher solar insolation in Summer. So I think your loo explaination is incorrect! Please clarify.....
