Iverson dropped 54 in game 2, Vince came back and dropped 50 in game 3 and then Iverson answered(pun intended) with 52 in game 5. Eventually the Sixers won 88-87 in game 7. Unbelievable series.

Watch the Reggie miller vs The New York Knicks special (ESPN films or HBO can’t remember) where they delve into the rivalry- dude back then they played DEFENSE. the desire to make the game more offensive & cleaner with the dirty techs (sheed!) led to the hand check rule tweak in 04 and the game hasn’t been the same since. You wanna watch real basketball these days, go to a random court in Brooklyn lol

Yup, I remember this series pretty well. Vince Carter my favorite player of all-time. Before TH-cam, and before any form of social media existed, I would visit random fan-made websites dedicated to Vince Carter, and watch videos of his highlights (mostly insane, never-before-seen-in-game dunks) over and over again.

2 legends. Greatest dunker of all time vs. greatest player 6ft and under of all time. Thank you NBA channel for blessing us with this throwback. What a duel of a series, coming down to the last shot and 2 seconds in game 7. Sadly Iverson lost to Kobe & Shaq in the finals but that man played with just as much heart and courage as anyone. He would've single-handedly won a championship if it wasn't for the greatest duo of all time defending their title. Props to both of them for their playoff performances. 🐐🐐

7:55 Nav Bhatia aka the most deserving Raptors ambassador (unlike Drake's bandwagonass)
Btw G7 of this series was the true test and turning point for A.I's skill as a combo guard. The Raptors doubled A.I and even tripled/quadrupled him in the paint. Larry Brown told A.I to turn into a dime machine and he flicked that switch en route to 16 assists that game. Since then he's been the 2nd best combo guard of all time (to me Wade is a pure SG) until Curry and Harden entered the picture. Westbrook will be a better combo guard as well as soon as he wises up and tunes up the balance between scoring and distributing better.

This two brought to the league that street basketball style and not only they succeeded at it, they had legendary careers doing their thing.
Iverson's ball handling was out of this world
I remember his Reebok commercials were he showcase moves that at least me and my friends hadn't seen ever.
And Vince was so gifted that people were comparing him with MJ and eventhough it was unfair the reality is that as a dunker he was better than MJ.
Not only his legendary dunk contest ones, in game dunks as well.
Hell his dunk over the 7 footer in the Olympics ruined the NBA career of that man.
He was already set to debut in the league and after the dunk of death his NBA dreams went in fact to the grave
Iverson also brought the hiphop culture to the league, and the fact that Kobe said that he was his most problematic competition is the compliment of all compliments

I could be wrong but what I've noticed was V. Carter's moves is still the same as it was 16 years ago in 2001 but his hops tell the difference.

Vince and AI are similar in a lot of ways. Both are dynamic scorers, both players are incredibly entertaining, and both players revolutionize the game - Vince being the greatest dunker of all time, and AI having the greatest crossover ever (arguably only debate is Tim). Both players are legends within their own right without question.
I wish there is a time machine, I miss this era of Basketball - with Kobe, AI, Kidd, Nash, Stockton, Shaq,T-Mac, Arenas, Dirk, Pierce, KG, Duncan + Vince. :(

Vince said after the game he went back and took that same shot 10 times and made all 10. guess what was meant to be was meant to be
