Here is a cool old XF S Pack Falcon I used to own. Before that it was my brother’s car. Should he buy it back? Please give the old XF a 👍Like👍 and please Subscribe for more old car videos. Thanks for watching. 👍
@MachtNixPasstSo Agreed! 😀
Who could resist a Monza Red XF S-Pak ?
That car will polish up nice after a nice going over. Get it sorted and it will be a beautiful weekender.
4.1Lt with 5 speed is a great combo. The torque of the 4.1 will propel it effortlessly. Great engine of its era.
Please update us on this Mark and if possible film the collection of the car and its first wash then you can highlight the good, the bad and ugly.
Cheers Mark !
@@tonymontana897 Thanks. If he ends up with it I will do. 👍
Yes very definitely buy her back and bring her back!
Agree 👍
My dad had an 85 XF Fairmont in Atlantic Blue, EFI 4-speed. Great touring car. Very comfortable at apeed, and he later had it hopped up with a fresh engine, cam and extractors before shortly after having it written off into a pole by his then wife. I ended up with the engine and gearbox to put in my Cortina, which went very well.
Shame how it ended up. 🥲
Such a beautiful car in their day the XF. Especially the 5 speed manual. Thanks for sharing Mark.
My pleasure. 👍
Hi Mark, your old pride and joy. It worth saving and looks decent under the dust just got some bonnet chips that can be fixed, if that was me, yes I would have it back. what a barn find I bet there's not many of these cars left. If your heart says yes, buy it back mate.
catch you soon Take care
Thanks Shaun. It will be my brother as it means more to him as I bought it off him and he always missed it. 👍
Yes, definitely buy it back, Mark. 👍
I think we should. 👍
Bring her back to life. It wouldn't be often to re visit a vehicle from his past. Especially one you missed 👍
Agree 👍
Yeah I reckon your brother should buy it back.
I imagine there’ll be more than just a wash and vacuum to get it going again, but that’s all part of the fun!
Yes, it will need some electrical, brakes and the rust in the bonnet sorted but nothing too much. 👍
She's a bloody beauty, your brother should definitely buy it back if he has the means to, especially if there's a sentimental connection. Give it a good tub and the love it needs to get it back on the road. Don't do any silly turbo Barra swaps which is presently all the rage, leave the drivetrain alone. You don't need 500 kilowatts, Just cruise and enjoy the experience the way it is.
We would keep it stock. 👍
Good old XF Spack love the story Mark ❤ Buy it back...
I think he will. 👍
G'day Mark,
Definitely all the way with the XF
S Pack.
Red cars are the fastest.
Cheers
Louis Kats 👍
You’re right 😀👍
@@markbehr88 👍👍😀
Woah, I saw an exact same red S pac XF this morning in Oakleigh 😂. Slightly older registration. What a coincidence.
Small world hey. 👍
Yes Mark. Your brother should buy it back.
I agree. 👍😀
That being the s pac is worth quite a bit specially, being manual easy restore yummy yummy xf falcon killer car
Yes, a cool car. 👍
Wow, that takes me back. Circa '86/87? I'd get it back, even if your brother doesn't drive it that much, if he has the space. Nice one!
Yes, he should. 👍
What a ripper!
Thanks 👍
Hey Mark, love the Xf & yes your brother should buy it back!
If either of you guys don’t want it let me know 😉
Thanks. I agree. He should get it. 👍
Very tidy S Pack Mark, I would definitely buy it back. It's a lot cleaner than the S Pack that I've got. Metallic blue, grey interior 4.1 auto...and the usual rust problems... bonnet, boot lid ,quarters.. and the broken drivers door handle 😅. Also was watching an old episode of Classics Restos last night and knock me down, there you were with Fletch and your Murcury Wagon in the States.
Yes, it’s a good thing. Ah yes, the Mercury Colony Park wagon. I still have that. Great car. There is an episode on the channel of it plus other US road trips I have done in different cars. 👍
I had an EB II XR6 which was when Tickford enhanced them. Love to know what happened to that! A great touring car. He definitely should buy it back 👍
Nice 👍
Looks like it’s in great shape, it’ll scrub up nicely 👍
Agree. 👍
I had a white sedan in auto. My favourite 😍
Cool 👍
if you buy it, maybe a episode of bringing back to life Mark
I’ll definitely keep you guys informed but it will be my brother who buys it. 👍
Love it, these were great fun in the 5 speed and 4.1. The XF are a bit under-rated because they didn't come with a V8, but I loved the S and Ghia models.
I agree with you. 👍
How could you not buy this car again.
After a good detail it will look great.
What a time capsule
Agree 👍
Love it, I have been looking for aunger headlight covers with the orange pin strips for years, not sure what happened to the company, it's nice to know other people are as nostalgic as myself
Thanks 👍
Had a 1987 5 speed wagon as a work vehicle back in the day. It was a revelation as to how smooth and effortless it was.
Yes, I used to enjoy driving it. 👍
@MachtNixPasstSo They’re nice cruisers, especially with the 5 speed.
Love it aussie history ❤
Yes. We have to save them. 👍
If I had a chance of buying some of my old cars again I’d jump at…this one looks great - a true barn find!!
Yes, he should definitely buy it back. 👍
I remember a Sunday 22odd years ago when Paul Behr & I went up from the North Shore in Sydney to Newcastle to have a look in the giant model shop up there & have some lunch. Once we were done, Paul said do you know where Futura Motors is up here, I said yep , a couple of miles west down Hunter St when it goes over an odd angled railway bridge at Islington and it's just on your left opposite Wickham Park. Futura Motors ONLY sold good classic cars of all makes and models, decent examples at fair prices, we looked around and down the back of their lot was this S pack $3,000 one old owner logbooks 300,000k's & it was mint the elderly couple who had owned it spared zero expense on having it serviced it was great. Both Paul & I had a 'fang" around some of the bumpy crappy streets in Islington's back streets no rattles, no vibrations, perfect, even the gear change was good. I had 500bucks in my wallet, so we left that as a deposit & Paul went up on a train to Newcastle the next Saturday to pay the other $2500 & drive it home, Paul was rapt , as it really was like new.
Great memories there Greg. I couldn’t remember how many kms were on it. They must have been hey kms based on the condition. 👍
Monza red with charcoal trim 👌 , I say yes to buying it back 😅 . Would be a very nice weekender once tidied up!
Agreed. 👍
@MachtNixPasstSo Yes 👍
That is one excellent car right colour right gearbox very nice
Yes, best colour and transmission. 👍
Logic would suggest that if the present owner is just going to let it degrade in a shed, it's best someone buys it who will restore, then enjoy it. At least it's not decaying out in a paddock. Nothing annoys me more than seeing classic Aussie cars deteriorating on a paddock when someone could be restoring, then appreciating them.
This one has been pretty well stored considering. 👍
Definitely buy it back. Love to see it when it’s cleaned up and running again.
He should shouldn’t he? 👍
Perfect example of a well designed car with inbuilt reliability that was enjoyable to drive. They were the days.
Yep 👍
Oh wow! What a real Gem in the rough!!
Well hope he does buy it back, if not another car enthusiast will enjoy such rarity!
That’s true 👍
Yes Mark, you and your brother should buy it and time share it 😂 👌Any time I see a red XF sedan it reminds me of the one Streetmachine modded with a 351 Clevo in the late 80's 😮 - that thing was INSANE - to see how things coulda turned out ! 👍
Thanks. I think he will be all over this one. Stay tuned. 👍
i have a red and white one i might try and get the red one going.
You should. 👍
I reckon he should..
Me 2 👍
He should buy it. They were nice cars, very comfortable cruisers, with excellent performance.
Hopefully he will read all the comments and then I can make an episode getting it. 👍
@@markbehr88 Lets hope.
Great spec. Excellent history. Grab it!

Very cool buy it back mate
He should 👍
Awesome you should definitely buy it , its in good shape i'm looking for a clean one to barra swap all the ones i see are rusted out my first car was an XE and my dad had one of these round the same time i got my my first car a white XF SPAC
Yes, they are becoming rare. 👍
I'd be interested to know Mark what it looks like under the bonnet for that's a favourite place for the mice and rats to set up home. I hope your brother really does buy it to make a happy reunion between to old friends and then you can get to drive it too.
Yes, will have to check that out 👍
Drop a 351 in it Mark.
I think he has fond memories of it as it was. 👍🤔
Buy it
Stay tuned. 👍
I had the same car in white back in 1987 as a series 2 with the EFI engine and 5 speed. I remember at the time it was quite a sleeper that went and towed better than other friends VL Commodores (except turbo) and XD/XE V8's
Yes, they were good cars. 👍
@@markbehr88 Thanks also Mark for a great channel that's very factual and interesting without the attitude a lot of the younger ones sometimes exude
@@andrewpink3703 Thanks very much. Glad you like it. 👍
Of course he should get it back! Then drop 100k turning into a street machine like every other TH-camr 😂

Had one Mark EFI S Pac the old sloppy door hinges broken bonnet cable and latch rust around rear window and front plenum the old broken door handles and gouges in the door striker plates enjoyed hearing the wind whistling around the door seals
The Wind in the Windows! 😀👍
Cool old car , back when they where brand new , i was working for a company that had a small fleet of XF sedans and panel vans , the vans where for the engineers , and the engineers would go out on jobs all over the place servicing a specific type of machinery , sometimes doing interstaters , and those XFs used to wind up , and some of the stories told from engineers coming back to melbourne from sydney doing warp factor ...... i better not say :), needless to say out lunch room chats where always interesting :).
A quite a few of the XF sedans used to come back to factory smashed on the back of a tow truck , ours was an international company and the reps from overseas would occasionally come over , and they where used to volvos with ABS in their country , needless to say , the big falcon caught them unawares :) .
That one looks like another keeper , yeah probably not much to get her on the road again Mark .
If i was young again and didnt have 9 cars a trailer , a caravan in the house , id buy it myself :).
Yes, I remember renting a brand new S pack auto when they were new. There used to be so many of them on the road. 👍
Those Aunger headlight covers remind me of when Aunger alloy wheels were very popular ( especially the Tridens) when they became available in NZ in the early to mid seventies, as I'm sure they were in Australia as well . Iv'e tried to get information about Kim Aunger and his wheels, but there doesn't seem to be much available, I know that he raced an early Mustang , and was killed in a helicopter crash, I'd like to know where his wheel factory was? , and why they seemed to become " Cheviot " wheels, and I think I recall that Cheviot wheels were made in NZ ? . Maybe you dont know, but you seem like someone who might. 🙂
I think Muscle Car magazine did a story on him. 👍
Just like my old girl. only mine was was 85 so no little light
Being a 5 collor coated i say shes a87 ( just 1 minute in )
love the XF's
Again hence my name lol
She’s a good old jigger for sure! 👍
The dash is the opposite of the NA - NC Fairlane's having electronic fuel and temperature guages and analogue speedo.
Yes it was now you mention it. 👍
If you and your brother can get it running and looking great again, by all means invest.
Yes, it would be a good project. Just what I need. Another project! 👍😀
@@markbehr88 Indeed indeed.. I am waiting on your Oldsmobile Ninety Eight to arrive and see it on your channel. In the mean time, you can start this project.
@@OLDS98 Yes , along with my other few! 👍
Yeah he should get it back if he has the space.
I've noticed that old cars even if kept under cover will rust if stored with a flat battery, or no battery. In my experience with a 40 year old car, a charged battery seems to keep the rust bug away, electrical protection against oxidation maybe?
Interesting theory? 🤔👍
@@markbehr88 Has happened to my old Fuego since 2012 and a Capri I had in the 1980s.
@@feefyefoefum I liked the Fuego and the Renault 17TL (which you never see). 👍

Ha hah. Yes, he should. Stay tuned. 👍
Mechanically would be a concern.
Not really. They are very simple cars. 👍
This is unreal
I had a red S pack in 2002
My NC Fairlan died with a cracked head and my wife cooked it. Places an order in for a new AUII Fairlane, but I had a 6 week wait, My brother had an XF with no rego for 7 months sitting in his yard, I got it off him for $50, fitted 2 lower ball joints and did 12 months rego. 5 weeks later, I got my new Fairlane. Sold the XF to my daughters boyfriend. He drived the car from Sydney NSW to Katherine NT and back every 3 months and has been for the last 22 years. 10 years ago He got a new car to do the trip and one did it the one time till he went back to the Falcon, The Falcon works better on shitty outback roads.
Very cool 👍
@@markbehr88 What I didn't say is he somehow fitted a bullbar from a Landrover to it. just chopped the top rail off it.
@@Bomaderry Oh dear 🫣
Nice XF Mark, i had a few back in the early 2000s great cars👍👍.
Was that a Dodge diplomat parked next to the XF?
Yes. Dodge Diplomat. 👍
G'day Mark. Awesome looking Ford XF Falcon. What year is the car? Given the dust and stuff, it doesn't look like it had been driven forever. 🙂
I think it is 1987.
. Paul should look for the Xk he would then have the first and last falcon . Never go back
Yes that would be good. I have an XL wagon. Wouldn’t mind an XK. 👍
Had an XF for 20 years. Very comfortable car. Would I buy another one…nah. Ford engineering at its best…in other words, I have better things to do on my weekends. Be careful of the head gaskets…and the door handles…and the melting accelerator cable…did I mention the head gasket…the PITA changing of the rear discs pads…
I guess , given their age, they have their limitations but, unlike new cars, you can actually work on them yourself. 👍
Rather enjoy the soft ride of the wagons with digital speed clusters.
Me too 👍
100% especially in the manual . Sports pack BEAUTIFUL car.❤
Thank you. 🙏
Last ford I bought new was an xf wagon s pack metallic blue and late 1987
I really liked that car but the engine was rubbish
No door handle problems
I do very much like the wagons. 👍
carby or EFI?
Also the S-Pac got the trick drivers instruments display and Tacho.
Looks good, make and offer and see if you can get it.

When I was younger back in 1985 my parents bought a Holden VK and then a few years later one of these in white. It was a January 1988 if I remember correctly one of the very last before the EA. It was named The Love Boat. It looked like a boat and handled like a boat. The back seat was uncomfortable and it had no leg room. Awful car I thought but each to their own I guess
I used to drive it as a commuter car and it was always easy and comfortable but I never sat in the back. 👍

Put the money into ' Super ' so you can retire early. Time waits for no man.
If you buy right and buy the right cars, you can do a lot better than Super. 👍
What's the asking price, 8k??
The car surley wouldn't become a daily??
For 8k (if it is) have a look at more modern day fuel efficent cars with better safty features.
I do love XF Falcons tho but really She past her use by date as a daily driven car.
Its gonna need a lot of money spent on it to get it road legal.
4 tyres, rear trailing arm bushes, the rust, the list goes on and on.
Narhhh walk away from it. Unless you can score it for 2k.
Club rego and "Cars n coffee" events for this thing.
I had an XE manual when they were still fairly contemporary. They were a pain as a daily driver in urban traffic even then.

Why don't you extend your interest to the Ford Territory? As Australia's only genuine SUV, they'll be worth big coin one day. They're a real, Aussie Ford, not some Mazda built import like many others.
I have a huge list to get through with just the passenger cars. 👍
