I live in Florida for 10 years from 83 to 93 and still have lots of family down there, but Ohio is my home and I will be a Buckeye for ever, But you are right when you stay down there all winter most people stay down there for the weather, not the adventure. Merry Christmas to both of you.
Great video. This is our first winter as snowbirds. Yes, definitely different from summer/weekend campers. We have found some very outgoing folks and some who definitely want to be left alone. We have been in AZ but not in a seasonal spot. I think that makes a difference. We have campfires and see folks out and about all the time. So, definitely different. We also do a lot of boondocking, which is great for us. Enjoy!

We know how you feel about snowbird camping and this isn't a new phenomenon . Back 90's (dating ourselves) my wife and l always camped with our kinds. We meet up with an older couple that were camping with their grandkids that were about the same age as our kids . We became quite close to them and camped with them often. Being retired they went to Florida (mostly) in the winter and they said that as soon as it was dark everyone moved inside their units and that was it for the night. No fires, no gatherings , shut it down. So that snowbird things been happening forever it seems. Great following you guys. John and Suzanne

Enjoyed your prospective on the lifestyle. We lived in FL in the early 90s with the military and have been around the snowbirds and my in-laws live in Tampa. So you're correct. We are looking at going full-time and get away from the snow here in NE Ohio mainly due to my wife's disability. Keep up the great videos.

Great video! We became full-time RVers at the end of 2020. Everything u said is so true people rv in so many different forms. We actually bought an RV resort lot and we currently r not traveling at all. I have always been a homebody I actually don't do much do to the fact that my husband is still extremely busy. I am retired and a very private person when it comes to our home but at the same time I can be very friendly. My point is this is not just a long vacation for a lot of us it is a lifestyle by choice. There will be the day we will have vacations here n there but owning a lot gave us a piece of mind especially doing it right before prices started going crazy, cramped campgrounds and having to plan all the time. We love it we r very happy living this lifestyle we live in a class A.

The music in the video really had me jamming! I actually call myself a Summerbird… We RV out of the state for work in the spring, summer, and fall and then we come home to Tampa where we stay and work for the winter. For us to RV it’s just like an extension of our home not a camping trip. We’ve been doing this for 4 years and never built a campfire…we joke that we prefer to smell the neighbors…it’s just our thing- not right or wrong, just how we do it.

Love your new Open Range, however, it still has issues. We had one our first year out, we loved it but 18 things on the list to fix. We KOA work camped our first 5 years out. We got to see a lot of the country that way. Dear Husband (DH) retired 4 years ago, but I still work from home wherever we roam. I teach online. Congratulations on losing the weight, it isn't easy when you live this life. Blessings to you both. We are currently on the Coast of TX, not in a crazy place, but a place we could afford and it's a village not a town. About 750 people live here, but there are a lot of RV parks, but nothing much else around. Great if you like fishing and kayaking.

@@AdventureBandits1 We just were talking about this yesterday as we had to drive an hour to pick up groceries and pet food. Our favorite place we went to, through Cleveland OH to Niagara Falls and seeing the falls and the locks. Most expensive- Lady Lake FL across from The Villages. But I think the absolute fav. was on the beach rv park in Crescent City CA, just miles from the Redwood forest. It was 90 in town, just a mile away, but bc we were on the beachfront, it stayed 70 with a breeze. Working was tough bc of the time changes. I had to work at 3 a.m. but I was done by 6 or 7 a.m. which meant bedtime was 6 or 7 pm. We loved Sequim WA area too. The lavender fields were beautiful. We went across on the ferry to see Port Townsend and that area. I loved riding on HWY 1 from Washington State to CA, we stayed in the Marinas down the coast and the views were spectacular, but the drive for dh was butt-clenching! After 4 years, that is his memory. He did not see the views like I did. Every turn was spectacular. It would be worse now with a 45 foot and tow, but it was fantastic then. Our hope is to hit the Top of the East Coast, but not for a while yet, too crazy right now. We loved Savannah, we loved TN. We have seen 40 states, but no plans to go to Alaska by RV. If we were traveling with others maybe, but we are slower paced. This year, simply, leave TX and go to Nebraska and discover the state with the 86 yo m-i-l. Great video; and yes. I would totally agree with you on the “snow birds” they are living not camping! We were fortunate enough to get to camp a lot through 2021 and when we would camp during the winter months we saw no one. The parks were full also. We were out walking on the beach sitting out by a fire pit and felt weird because we were the only ones. We like the interaction and enjoy our kids making friends in the parks. Love camping but we love atmosphere more camping over the summer. Keep the videos coming and safe travels. PS: I like the “Riding Shotgun “ slogan the best for the shirts.

We had issues with our Black Tank valve. I discovered that the cable from the valve to the handle was pinched by the chloroplast. Try loosening some of the screws in that area and see if that helps.
Bummer about your jacks, I add scissor in front and behind my axles, this has almost cured the movement, I so have electric jarks at both ends, also got snapp pads for the front and back jacks that have helped alot. We will be getting some of your shirts soon, and we'll be wear them proudly here in the Ozarks 😊
There's BL Strong Arms installed on my rv as well. I should be using them as well to prevent shaken. I may start using the. Smart move with the scissor jacks. We appreciate your support on the purchase of our shirts. Thank you!

We are snowbirds in Florida from Delaware.. my husband works full time. The difference is we own our RV Lot. So our neighbors our owners too. We have golf, karaoke every Friday night, Bingo, Social ice cream nights, golf tournaments, poker night, happy hour at golf pavilion, dances, Bands coming in. We feel like we are at Adult Summer camp. We are South of you In Punta Gorda FL so much warmer weather. Oh we have pool parties and pot luck dinners. Currently Superbowl tailgate party coming up and Superbowl Pool to win money $5 square, $10 square and $20 square. We like to eat, drink and have a good time. Someone has a problem with their RV we all help out. So we like it and get sad when it's time to go home.
We need to come down where you are at . The campground has a lot of that too. We just need to get out more every campground has a party 🥳 house lol. We just need to find it

Hi Adventure Bandits, as a native Floridian born and raised I've seen a lot of people snowbirds included come to Florida with the misconception of warmer temperatures and fun all year round (Not) only to leave disappointed, You'll came you saw and now you know... Maybe next year stay in Myrtle Beach or at a camp ground that has more to offer??? Just a suggestion. I love watching y'all 🤗
I am snowbirding for the first time too. Now the area I am in has lots of activity during the day and some evening events. However, most evenings and at night things get quiet. I do see a few fires at night but most of us are inside. For me it is not a big surprise and I like the pace.
We do have activities during the day here as well. I guess I have to get more involved. But around 5pm here this park goes dead. No fires what so ever. This is really our first time snow birding. Just taking me a little time to get use to.
23:10. People who don’t like to speak. It’s not about you. Some people just want to keep to themselves. People with families and still working are sometimes trying to force a family event. Come to Quartzsite AZ. Everybody is a baby boomer and older, all retired and extremely welcoming. Give it a try, you will love it here

Hey guys we have been coming to FL in the Winter for a few years. We have spent time in different parts of the state at different campgrounds. I do agree that snowbird camping is different than weekend warrior camping. We’ve done both. Snowbird RVing is about bringing your home and habits with you.😀 I will say the the opportunity for activities change based on locations. We have been staying in southwest FL and there are always things to do outside of the campground. There’s festivals, concerts, art shows and any outdoor activities you may choose to participate in. As far the weather the further south you go the warmer it is. We have had only a few days below 70 and we have been here 2 months. As you know campground amenities will change from one campground to another. The place I’m currently staying have daily organized activities. For example today there is a Luau for everyone from MI, next weekend it’s people from OH. This is the friendliest place we ever stayed in the US. It took us a while to find the right place for us and I’m glad we finally did.
We plan to get out and visit other parks. I'm planning to make the most of this snowbird trip. Sound like you found the perfect park with a lot of amenities and activities. Enjoy your stay and safe travels!

I think most snowbirds are retired couples just wanting to get away from cold climates, not necessarily looking for the ''camping lifestyle''. A few activities, but generally just living the easy life down south. We (my wife and I) are from Canada and are retiring in 2 years and we are so fed up of winter, snow, shoveling, and we've just decided to do the snowbird thing also, not for the camping part but to get away for the winter months. I can see us doing a few fires a month but mostly just chilling in our RV. We are also very private people so I don't see us mingling very much with other campers, being social and polite, but mainly keeping to ourselves.
So question, maybe you guys have covered this before, if you have please let me know. With all the great cooking that goes on in the RV, how do you guys deal with bugs on a daily basis? Also, are you guys planning on writing an RV cooking book?
Great video. If you get a chance, check out what the families with children are doing. We are full-time with our children doing the Florida shuffle. Bunches at Orlando Thousand Trails and Sunshine Key. The families tend to be out all times of the day and have fires more. We did outsings and such with other families. It was awesome. Now we are in Gainesville, FL freezing lol
I will definitely do that. There's not many kids at the park that I'm currently at. We plan to visit some campgrounds as soon as the weather gets alittle better. We are 30min outside of Gainsville. The weather has been bipolar here lately.

Well you can be full time and still be working. Lots of people are doing just that. I think you are seeing the reality of what "full time" is it is living in your RV, but it doesn't Necessarily mean you are "camping". Sitting out by the campfire every night is fun once in awhile but it is something the short term/vacationers do. Hear is a little different way to think about it. I think of it as I am a traveler and I take my little condo with me. I go places to explore the area and not just sit in the campground. Yes I have days I don't schedule/do much but cook on the grill and relax. Just so you know I am not full time. I am retired. Last year we were in 21 states 51 campgrounds and drove my little camper 11,620 miles.
Wow! William your right and can vision your experience. I'm living it like a full-time and Talm wants the glitz and glamor. We are having a ball living life as if we actually stay in Florida. It's been eye opening. Appreciate your support and your story.

Tee! It appears that you might be the odd man out on this one. LOL It looks like from where I'm sitting (New Haven, CT) being a snowbird means that you don't have to be in hurry to do anything. A person can just do whatever or nothing at all because they don't have to pack up and go home the next day. I can't wait till I'm able to be a snowbird! Love the content! Peace!

Hey Sir Tamj . I always miss your name up. Ok most people who are snowbirds are not your age . Ok let's modify that. Don't have your same energy. When I go camping I want to hike, ride , kayaking, running , swimming ( although I am not that great swimmer) but you get what I'm putting down. My wife and kids on the other hand, for them is just sit around and occasionally part take in the activities. So those snowbirds that's what they want. Just to lay around and do nothing. It would drive me crazy. But trust me I would be out daily. For those who stay inside , in their defense. Think of this .If you love to party drink and stay up all night . On the weekend, thats fine. Try doing that every day. Be bless.

Enjoyed your prospective on the lifestyle. We lived in FL in the early 90s with the military and have been around the snowbirds and my in-laws live in Tampa. So you're correct. We are looking at going full-time and get away from the snow here in NE Ohio mainly due to my wife's disability. Keep up the great videos.

Great video! We became full-time RVers at the end of 2020. Everything u said is so true people rv in so many different forms. We actually bought an RV resort lot and we currently r not traveling at all. I have always been a homebody I actually don't do much do to the fact that my husband is still extremely busy. I am retired and a very private person when it comes to our home but at the same time I can be very friendly. My point is this is not just a long vacation for a lot of us it is a lifestyle by choice. There will be the day we will have vacations here n there but owning a lot gave us a piece of mind especially doing it right before prices started going crazy, cramped campgrounds and having to plan all the time. We love it we r very happy living this lifestyle we live in a class A.

I'm glad you pointed that out about snowbird I thought that people was Actually camping if I wanted to go just to fill the warmth and stay indoors I would just buy me a seasonal cottage or something Down in Florida
The music in the video really had me jamming! I actually call myself a Summerbird… We RV out of the state for work in the spring, summer, and fall and then we come home to Tampa where we stay and work for the winter. For us to RV it’s just like an extension of our home not a camping trip. We’ve been doing this for 4 years and never built a campfire…we joke that we prefer to smell the neighbors…it’s just our thing- not right or wrong, just how we do it.

Love your new Open Range, however, it still has issues. We had one our first year out, we loved it but 18 things on the list to fix. We KOA work camped our first 5 years out. We got to see a lot of the country that way. Dear Husband (DH) retired 4 years ago, but I still work from home wherever we roam. I teach online. Congratulations on losing the weight, it isn't easy when you live this life. Blessings to you both. We are currently on the Coast of TX, not in a crazy place, but a place we could afford and it's a village not a town. About 750 people live here, but there are a lot of RV parks, but nothing much else around. Great if you like fishing and kayaking.

@@AdventureBandits1 We just were talking about this yesterday as we had to drive an hour to pick up groceries and pet food. Our favorite place we went to, through Cleveland OH to Niagara Falls and seeing the falls and the locks. Most expensive- Lady Lake FL across from The Villages. But I think the absolute fav. was on the beach rv park in Crescent City CA, just miles from the Redwood forest. It was 90 in town, just a mile away, but bc we were on the beachfront, it stayed 70 with a breeze. Working was tough bc of the time changes. I had to work at 3 a.m. but I was done by 6 or 7 a.m. which meant bedtime was 6 or 7 pm.
We loved Sequim WA area too. The lavender fields were beautiful. We went across on the ferry to see Port Townsend and that area.
I loved riding on HWY 1 from Washington State to CA, we stayed in the Marinas down the coast and the views were spectacular, but the drive for dh was butt-clenching! After 4 years, that is his memory. He did not see the views like I did. Every turn was spectacular. It would be worse now with a 45 foot and tow, but it was fantastic then. Our hope is to hit the Top of the East Coast, but not for a while yet, too crazy right now. We loved Savannah, we loved TN.
We have seen 40 states, but no plans to go to Alaska by RV. If we were traveling with others maybe, but we are slower paced. This year, simply, leave TX and go to Nebraska and discover the state with the 86 yo m-i-l. Blessings as you travel and find your favorites.
My wife has had the itch all winter to camp in the South East (Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Coastal MS). On our way down in a month or two!

Great video; and yes. I would totally agree with you on the “snow birds” they are living not camping! We were fortunate enough to get to camp a lot through 2021 and when we would camp during the winter months we saw no one. The parks were full also. We were out walking on the beach sitting out by a fire pit and felt weird because we were the only ones. We like the interaction and enjoy our kids making friends in the parks. Love camping but we love atmosphere more camping over the summer. Keep the videos coming and safe travels.

You are right about snow bird’s. It is totally different than summer camping. My wife and I spent all February in Florida last year. Just different!

We had issues with our Black Tank valve. I discovered that the cable from the valve to the handle was pinched by the chloroplast. Try loosening some of the screws in that area and see if that helps.

Bummer about your jacks, I add scissor in front and behind my axles, this has almost cured the movement, I so have electric jarks at both ends, also got snapp pads for the front and back jacks that have helped alot. We will be getting some of your shirts soon, and we'll be wear them proudly here in the Ozarks 😊
There's BL Strong Arms installed on my rv as well. I should be using them as well to prevent shaken. I may start using the. Smart move with the scissor jacks.

We are snowbirds in Florida from Delaware.. my husband works full time. The difference is we own our RV Lot. So our neighbors our owners too. We have golf, karaoke every Friday night, Bingo, Social ice cream nights, golf tournaments, poker night, happy hour at golf pavilion, dances, Bands coming in. We feel like we are at Adult Summer camp. We are South of you In Punta Gorda FL so much warmer weather. Oh we have pool parties and pot luck dinners. Currently Superbowl tailgate party coming up and Superbowl Pool to win money $5 square, $10 square and $20 square. We like to eat, drink and have a good time. Someone has a problem with their RV we all help out. So we like it and get sad when it's time to go home.
We need to come down where you are at . The campground has a lot of that too. We just need to get out more every campground has a party 🥳 house lol. We just need to find it

Hi Adventure Bandits, as a native Floridian born and raised I've seen a lot of people snowbirds included come to Florida with the misconception of warmer temperatures and fun all year round (Not) only to leave disappointed, You'll came you saw and now you know... Maybe next year stay in Myrtle Beach or at a camp ground that has more to offer??? Just a suggestion. I love watching y'all 🤗

I am snowbirding for the first time too. Now the area I am in has lots of activity during the day and some evening events. However, most evenings and at night things get quiet. I do see a few fires at night but most of us are inside. For me it is not a big surprise and I like the pace.
We do have activities during the day here as well. I guess I have to get more involved. But around 5pm here this park goes dead. No fires what so ever. This is really our first time snow birding. Just taking me a little time to get use to.

Come to Quartzsite AZ. Everybody is a baby boomer and older, all retired and extremely welcoming. Give it a try, you will love it here

Hey guys we have been coming to FL in the Winter for a few years. We have spent time in different parts of the state at different campgrounds. I do agree that snowbird camping is different than weekend warrior camping. We’ve done both. Snowbird RVing is about bringing your home and habits with you.😀
I will say the the opportunity for activities change based on locations. We have been staying in southwest FL and there are always things to do outside of the campground. There’s festivals, concerts, art shows and any outdoor activities you may choose to participate in. As far the weather the further south you go the warmer it is. We have had only a few days below 70 and we have been here 2 months.
As you know campground amenities will change from one campground to another. The place I’m currently staying have daily organized activities. For example today there is a Luau for everyone from MI, next weekend it’s people from OH. This is the friendliest place we ever stayed in the US. It took us a while to find the right place for us and I’m glad we finally did.
We plan to get out and visit other parks. I'm planning to make the most of this snowbird trip. Sound like you found the perfect park with a lot of amenities and activities. Enjoy your stay and safe travels!

I think most snowbirds are retired couples just wanting to get away from cold climates, not necessarily looking for the ''camping lifestyle''. A few activities, but generally just living the easy life down south. We (my wife and I) are from Canada and are retiring in 2 years and we are so fed up of winter, snow, shoveling, and we've just decided to do the snowbird thing also, not for the camping part but to get away for the winter months. I can see us doing a few fires a month but mostly just chilling in our RV. We are also very private people so I don't see us mingling very much with other campers, being social and polite, but mainly keeping to ourselves.
We noticed that alot of snowbirds tend to stay to themselves. They are in FL just to enjoy the warm temps.
So question, maybe you guys have covered this before, if you have please let me know. With all the great cooking that goes on in the RV, how do you guys deal with bugs on a daily basis? Also, are you guys planning on writing an RV cooking book?
We really don't have to deal with bugs until the night. That's when we bring out the Thermocel.

Great video. If you get a chance, check out what the families with children are doing. We are full-time with our children doing the Florida shuffle. Bunches at Orlando Thousand Trails and Sunshine Key. The families tend to be out all times of the day and have fires more. We did outsings and such with other families. It was awesome. Now we are in Gainesville, FL freezing lol
I will definitely do that. There's not many kids at the park that I'm currently at. We plan to visit some campgrounds as soon as the weather gets alittle better.
We are 30min outside of Gainsville. The weather has been bipolar here lately.

Well you can be full time and still be working. Lots of people are doing just that.
I think you are seeing the reality of what "full time" is it is living in your RV, but it doesn't Necessarily mean you are "camping". Sitting out by the campfire every night is fun once in awhile but it is something the short term/vacationers do.
Hear is a little different way to think about it.
I think of it as I am a traveler and I take my little condo with me. I go places to explore the area and not just sit in the campground. Yes I have days I don't schedule/do much but cook on the grill and relax.
Just so you know I am not full time. I am retired. Last year we were in 21 states 51 campgrounds and drove my little camper 11,620 miles.
Wow! William your right and can vision your experience. I'm living it like a full-time and Talm wants the glitz and glamor. We are having a ball living life as if we actually stay in Florida. It's been eye opening. Appreciate your support and your story.

Tee! It appears that you might be the odd man out on this one. LOL It looks like from where I'm sitting (New Haven, CT) being a snowbird means that you don't have to be in hurry to do anything. A person can just do whatever or nothing at all because they don't have to pack up and go home the next day. I can't wait till I'm able to be a snowbird! Love the content! Peace!

Hey Sir Tamj . I always miss your name up. Ok most people who are snowbirds are not your age . Ok let's modify that. Don't have your same energy. When I go camping I want to hike, ride , kayaking, running , swimming ( although I am not that great swimmer) but you get what I'm putting down. My wife and kids on the other hand, for them is just sit around and occasionally part take in the activities. So those snowbirds that's what they want. Just to lay around and do nothing. It would drive me crazy. But trust me I would be out daily. For those who stay inside , in their defense. Think of this .If you love to party drink and stay up all night . On the weekend, thats fine. Try doing that every day. Be bless.
