It would have been better if the boat ride had a few moving parts. It also would have been fun if a couple of those dinos spit water. Even for a kids' ride, it seems a bit underwhelming. Great vlog though, as usual.
Looks like they spent all their money on paying the Master Builders for those fantastic Lego sculptures, and absolutely nothing on engineering to make anything move or be exciting.
That used to be Fairytale Brook, lol. I worked at Legoland in college, I can't get the sound of that billy goat out of my head, lol. Best job, best park ever!
Yeah no kidding haha. Fairy Tale Brook also had more (limited) animated scenes which made things more interesting, as well as each scene being distinctly different from each other. I'm sure there will be kids that get a blast from this though.
"Base camp is where the real action is!" Base Camp: The lego dinosaurs look cool and 8 year old me would have loved the water ride. Seems like there was too much empty space though.
RIP to the Fairy Tale Brook ride and Jungle Safari. This Dinosaur River Quest, while okay, probably might be better suited to help unify the dinosaur coaster (similar reasoning with retheming the Jungle Safari ride too) Fairy Tale Brook was originally part of Duplo Town (and same with the Jungle Safari ride) before the Lego Movie area took over. RIP to both. I hope they make happy memories for newer kids. As for adults: There's actually some stuff there. Noodle bowls in the Lego Movie area, Miniland, a laser shooter and the dragoncoaster!
word of advice, don't go to legoland by yourself as a grown adult 😅...i couldn't really ride anything without feeling or looking like a total creeper. I think there's maybe like 1-2 rides total where it isn't focused too much as a kid/adult ride, so i only rode like those two, lol. This boat ride looks solo friendly enough, so if I ever go back, i'd include it in my rides. I loved seeing all the stuff built by legos, especially the city scapes...and the shop had some nice exclusive lego sets.
Omg right? I always wanted to go as a kid but could never afford it. My wife took me as a surprise anniversary present. Within about 20 minutes we knew we had made a huge mistake 😂
I know! My dad and I went last year since it had been a while. Wow it is sadly not adult friendly, those kids give you a disaproving look not to mention the parents.
I went solo as an adult and loved it. And I met other solos there too. If your self esteem is so low to where you care what others think, seek counseling.
"... Well... a water dribbling dinosaur anyways..." My take away was that dinosaurs like to do their Easter egg hunts in secret caves. Wonder if they use the gondolas as mop buckets after hours 🤔
Part of me wonders if my 8 year old (who's passed that 48 inch "I can ride on most of the cool rides now!" mark) would even care about Legoland anymore.
Incredibly disheartened to see story brook boat ride be replaced with such a boring Dino ride. I used to love that old ride, there was a kinetic energy with all the moving characters and pieces that used to be there, all replaced with these static figures. Sure they’re impressive, and I hope the younger kids can enjoy it, but I feel like the old ride was so much better. The duplo ride is ok too I guess, but I will miss the complex builds of the animals compared to the big plastic dinosaurs. The camera feature is cute although I don’t know how it works 😂
We had season passes a few years ago, and went a lot that year. My kids loved this ride, and laughing at all the oddities to it. Prince Charming has an iPhone 😂! We were SO disappointed to hear they were changing it to dinosaurs. It makes sense to theme it around the area, but we’ll miss this quirky ride.
I'm happy to see a successful venture for Lego ( like this one ) that doesn't involve a license. A few decades ago they were in dire straits and were saved by the Star Wars license. People think Lego is a financially successful company but they didn't really start doing well until the Lego Movie was a success. All previous success was high license fees for their best selling products. As much as I like Jurassic Park/World I'm also happy to see Lego come up with non-licensed ideas that are a hit like this one.
And now I wait for any of the tier list theme park channels to adopt these rides into a future episode on rides that trigger Submechanophobia. Super cute rides though!
@@nancyfarkas3592ya I took my little cousin and it just isn’t the same it’s mainly for younger kids unless they build some crazy roller coaster for older kids
This ride is a show off of their legos. This ride is an ad to trick kids to but their Dino legos. This ride has no intention to entertain the passengers behind the construction. Stop Thinking. Turn off your brain and just consume. Accelerate! Accelerate!
Man why do they have to change everything? It was perfectly fine as it was before, now it’s just lame. If I wanted a dinosaur ride I’d go to universal. I remember going as a kid in the early 2010s and loving it, though I was terrified because I thought there would be a drop lol. I’ve gone a handful of times since, last time I was 10. I’m 15 now and you wouldn’t catch me dead on this thing.
They need more movement in the dinos. Not even a lot, just moving the arms or having them rock forward and back would have been enough. Riding through a bunch of statues gets old fast.
I love the new safari jeeps! But the ride is a big downgrade. There were a lot of animals before. The Dino’s are hard to make out if it’s a dinosaur or one of the duplo creations from the Lego Movie. Also, few and far between.
This outright sucks compared to the previous versions. Fairy Tale Brook was so magical with whimsical takes on classic fairy tales with lots of kinetics. Safari Trek had great builds of wild animals, now it’s ugly Duplo brutalism. Legoland is just downgrading itself.
I went to Lego land with my 3 adult friends and honestly I found it boring and lame. A couple rides were good. But it felt like just an old amusement park with a hodge podge of random Lego stuff here and there. The tickets are about the same as Disneyland! Just go to Disneyland! The “ production value” of Disneyland is 50 times more with dense beautiful high quality details in every direction. I can’t recommend Lego land. MAYBE I would if it was half the price. I can’t imagine even bringing my kids there. Sorry. I was very disappointed. It was just nothing special.
prices went up that high? First/last time I went to legoland: CA was 2017 or so, and the ticket was considerably cheaper than a 1 day ticket to Disneyland, like 30-40 cheaper.
I've lived in Orange County all my life and never have been to legoland. I have small kids now, but the price doesn't seem worth it, especially after watching that 2nd video. Maybe if I lived in SD, I would get a pass for the kids. Seems like a much better value.
@@thecunninlynguist yes, they’re a little cheaper. But considering I left Legoland thinking it was a poor experience, and considering I left Disneyland thinking it was an absolute mind blowing magical experience that I want to come back to many times, I’d say the $20 or $30 difference is not even in question.
That would be the place where I can have trust and where I can meet/fall in love with the Single Younger Female Lego TH-camr who do not have children yet in the future 🇺🇸 👍 🙂

Reminds me of the dinosaur ride that used to be at Legoland Windsor but was sadly demolished to make way for the Castle Hotel
In a park focused on kids, this is fine. Not really my cup of tea but I'm sure the young kids will enjoy it.

They need to redo the Castle Hotel, as a hotel themed to dinosaurs. Then make another Castle Hotel looking over Castle Hill.
That camera on the right at 4:58 reminds me of the alien camera in the movie "War Of The Worlds" from 1953.
The color changing ones at about 2:35 probably look a lot better at night.

Those dinosaurs looked awesome.
The boat ride is awful compared to the previous fairy tale themed version. And you know what, same for the duplo ride, too. What a horrible new area.
I have very good memories of riding the fairytale version. But then again, I was very young and had never been to any other theme parks.
