Cincinnati guy here… I was at the game when he set (the since broken) single game rushing record. It was unreal. The Bengals sucked, but, for whatever reason, they manhandled the Broncos that day. Dillon left, Dillon right, Dillon all over the place. I think Bengals attempted only 6 or 7 passes that day. The stadium was packed and that place was rockin’. What a memory!!

When Brady faked a handoff to Dillon, defenses would react up and receivers ran free. Corey gained 1600 yards that year and got his richly deserved ring. I imagine what he could’ve done with a decent O-line, not playing from behind therefore getting more carries and not passing as much as well as having a good defense that didn’t get steamrolled each series. We see what he did as a 30 year old when he played for the Patriots. Imagine if he was on a team like that his entire career. We may have been talking about him as one of the all time greats.

Dixie State then (Dixie College) wasn't a D2 college football program. It was a junior college just like Garden City was. And it was one of the top Juco's of all time with a hall of fame coach in Greg Croshaw!

The most singularly gifted big back I've ever had the pleasure of watching, the meanest stiff-arm, the best hips, and absolutely incredible balance for his size, he was my favorite back when he was in Cincinnati, and I plain old lost my mind when he came to New England, my hometown team. If he hadnt ended up in one of a handful of the worst franchises in history, I think he would have retired as one of the most accomplished backs in NFL history. Just had to do too much for too bad a team, for too long. Thank goodness he finished it out in New England.
