    Dillon had to go to the NFL in 1997. The 1998 draft was way deeper than the 1997 class. He isn’t a NFL HOFer but he has earned a spot in the Patriots Hall of Fame.

    Cincinnati guy here… I was at the game when he set (the since broken) single game rushing record. It was unreal. The Bengals sucked, but, for whatever reason, they manhandled the Broncos that day. Dillon left, Dillon right, Dillon all over the place. I think Bengals attempted only 6 or 7 passes that day. The stadium was packed and that place was rockin’. What a memory!!

    • @dylanthomas12321
      @dylanthomas12321 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Damn! He did it here in Boston, too, in 04. We were used to winning. But he electrified the stadium and scared the hell out of defenses. When Brady faked a handoff to Dillon, defenses would react up and receivers ran free. Corey gained 1600 yards that year and got his richly deserved ring. He caught passes well, which is rare for a big tough back like him. Damned right, Thanks for the memories.

      @@dylanthomas12321 he was exactly what the Pats needed, at that time . They were stacked, but had no running game to speak of. Corey changed that, and they cruised to another title. I was so happy for Corey.

      Commenting on my Commennt. Sheesh, 😕.To paraphrase an HOF coach, Corey Dillon was a man among boys. Suddenly and Deadly with Speed. I wanted to be him but I weighed 150 pounds and ran long distance. I'd kill you in a 10K. But my acceleration and burst were lacking, to be honest.

    My 2nd all-time favorite Bengal, after Reggie Williams (Munoz is #3 😊). Got to know him personally. He was a far better person than local media tried to make him out to be. And, one of my all-time favorite runnings ever. "Beast Mode" before Marshawn Lynch came along. Was very happy when he won a Super Bowl with the Pats; the onky reason I rooted for them back then.

    Rather being on Bad Bengals team to Winning Superbowl Patriots team. Goes to show you how good Corey Dillon really was in late 90's and early 2000's. And still manage to make 10,000+ rushing career yards and closer to 100 Career Rushing TDs but just fall 18 Rushing TD short. And should of been in the Hall of Fame

    I really enjoy these “Forgotten Players” thing you’ve got going. So many players of the 80’s & 90’s that I can’t remember them all but seeing docs about them is pretty cool. Thanks for these👍 Corey Dillon is one of those “what if” players. Not in the sense that he never gotta chance to play he just never gotta chance to be on a decent team. I imagine what he could’ve done with a decent O-line, not playing from behind therefore getting more carries and not passing as much as well as having a good defense that didn’t get steamrolled each series. We see what he did as a 30 year old when he played for the Patriots. Imagine if he was on a team like that his entire career. We may have been talking about him as one of the all time greats.

    Bengals fan here since the 80s. Although James Brooks is my favorite Bengals rusher of all time, Dillon was a close 2nd. I felt bad his prime years were spent on a crappy team but happy he ended up on a franchise where he achieved the pinnacle of success winning a SB with Tom Brady.
    Imagine if he played on this current version of the Bengals with Burrow, Chase, and Higgins? They'd be unstoppable! Who Dey!

    The most singularly gifted big back I've ever had the pleasure of watching, the meanest stiff-arm, the best hips, and absolutely incredible balance for his size, he was my favorite back when he was in Cincinnati, and I plain old lost my mind when he came to New England, my hometown team. If he hadnt ended up in one of a handful of the worst franchises in history, I think he would have retired as one of the most accomplished backs in NFL history. Just had to do too much for too bad a team, for too long. Thank goodness he finished it out in New England.
