So glad you found a friend to help you. Too bad you cut up the floor pad, it would have been a great template for whatever flooring you decide to put down, also please get the correct tools, I'd hate for you to strip the bolt and then make it difficult to remove later. If you have a harbor freights, the tools although not the best they work great and are inexpensive. You'll have a mini tool bag to keep in van. (My dad's advice to me as a young adult, a woman should at minimum have 2 screw drivers flat & phillips/pliers and a hammer) the more badass you get, you add to your arsenal 😉.
Well, the weird thing is that the floor pad actually was tucked under, so it wasn't really an accurate measurement. I went through my dad's toolbox today and I'm making myself a toolbox. I'll have everything that I need - eventually. So strange, going through his toolbox though. He's been gone 7 years. Found all kinds of goodies.
Love your videos! I hope to do the same thing one day! You are so funny. I don't want to empty my shop vac either as we had a spider problem also and I know its full of dead ones!! 😂
I told my mom the other day that we can empty the vac together. She looked at me like I was crazy. She doesn't want to go near it either. But we have no choice. I seriously believe it's full. It stopped sucking! lol

If you put a fan in the ceiling, make sure the byutal tape you use comes from an auto parts store and is meant for windshield installations the tape I bought on Amazon with the best reviews is dripping down the inside walls of the fan frame. Thankfully, I put in a fall ceiling and I’ll be able to keep an eye on the fan situation. I’m wondering how you sealed the front and the back of your flooring to keep any moisture from getting underneath it . I use liquid nails on both ends because I can’t imagine dumping a drink in the front seat. How do you prevent it from going underneath that floor. So I basically used liquid concrete, but in hindsight, I probably could’ve used closed sell foam in a can.
Wait! What? I was supposed to seal what? I just laid down the foam board. Laid down the plywood and went about my business. Did I miss a step? Or are you talking about the foam board sticking to the metal? I used some gluey stuff the guy at Lowe's told me to use.
No silly you did great on the floor but you got to take into consideration if you were to spill something while you're sitting in the driver seat where would that liquid go? Is there any way the liquid that you spill can get underneath the floor you want to make sure that both ends are sealed up with some kind of caulking some kind of something so that when you spill something you don't have to rip the floor out to dry it out underneath
Does high sections where you put the glue well you have the channels in between those High sections if you were to spill something at the driver seat can it get underneath what you just did. Make sure each end is sealed the front end and the back end as in if a water jug were to leak would that water be able to get underneath the floor that you just put together? You have to make sure it's sealed on both ends and all around the edges so that if something spills it doesn't go underneath cuz it can't dry out underneath there so you got to make sure it's sealed
That dual zone fridge in the back looks amazing!!! Curious to see how you do your floor. I never did a thing to mine. Slapped some vinyl on it, and its already peeling off LOL
Oh, girl. I didn't know what I was doing. My friend who stopped by to cut some plywood saw my foam board and said, "Why did you chew it up?" Oh, gosh. I did such a horrible job, but no one can see my handy work - it's hidden under the plywood.
New sub here..Tampa FL but soon to be Jax where I lived for 9 years from 1995-2003. Great tour videos you did.. I like how you touch everything.. I'm guilty of the same thing!! I always pick up stuff and have to smell it! haha I think the floor pad in your new van would have been a great sound barrier as well as a good foundation to put a wood floor on top..The rubber floor mat would have given good insulation value too. IT looked pretty clean underneath from what I could tell but I'm half blind haha. I have a Voyager (Pacifica) minivan that I plan to build out soon. I own land out in AZ near Kristopher Travels actually, if you have seen his vids on here..I had hoped to do a shed house out there like he did too..but alas, I put things off! I'm sure I'm not the only guy that watches your channel! Dirty gal club I'm dying over here! That is too funny! I'm a member o f the legless old homo club haha ( recent below knee leg amputee..but should have a prosthetic leg by Dec 9th God be willing and the creek dont Rise!
Thank you so much for subscribing and sharing so much of yourself!!! I absolutely love it!!!! Seems we both belong to some strange clubs!!! I really struggled over removing the mat, but when I first bought the van, within a week there were baby spiders everywhere and I just can't get over it. I keep thinking that there may be things living under the mat. So I just had to rip it up. I was shocked. I really expected it to be full of dirt, mice, cigarettes, and car parts. LOL! Now I can breathe and move on. And those big latches were in my way, too. Those suckers hurt when I would hit my knee on one!!! Thanks so much for being here and I hope you continue to comment. I just love party participation!!! 😁✌🏻
When I first bought the van, I had a spider infestation. I could not stop thinking about what was underneath the mat. And the flooring was dark and dirty. And the clamps on the floor were in the way - four of them. I wanted an entire flat floor to work with.
I brought the proper torx bits however there was no way to loosen those bolts. We tried every possible tool, so cutting the flooring out actually worked best. Bolts could be used as anchor points for securing the rest of the build. We had a nice time and lots of laughs. 😊
I needed to see what was under the floor. I had a spider infestation when I bought the van. The thought of something living under there was too much for me. And there were four brackets built into the flooring and I needed to cover them to get a flat floor. and when I bought it - it reeked of marijuana. So it did help some taking the floor out.
For me I think it's more sleek and leveled when you add a wood base, and tile etc. You can then attach furniture to the floor with brackets. Harder to do with the original floor. That's just my take on it, lol.
What @JNante said! I'll be able to attach my bed and kitchen to the floor now. And I was able to cover those big latches on the floor. They were in my way when trying to fit my furniture inside.
I can go two weeks without a shower - I have no problem with dirt. I have a problem with bugs and spiders. Spiders are a damn nightmare for me. But I push through it, because I love this life.
Friends with tools ROCK!!
I'm getting a saw. I didn't know a little miter saw would work on plywood. I have so much to learn.
I'm sure that you'll sleep better knowing that no critters are lurking under your bed!
You have no idea!
More progress! Yay! 😊
Wait until you see what I accomplished today. Oh, my!
Wow! You go girl!! Looking great! 💜
Thank you!
Keep up the good work! Just think of how accomplished you're going to feel when you finish!
I'm finished! The floor is done!!! Not perfect, but it's mine - ALL MINE. LOL! Thanks, Heather!

This is gonna be AMAZING!
I finished a lot today!!! Almost done! Can't wait to share next week!
The van is coming along, looking good 👍 one step at a time ⏲️ 😊
That's the plan! Thanks so much!
Girl power works...how nice to have a friend to help ......progress... Thanks for sharing
So true! You'd think with all the women that I know - that my van would already be done. We need to start having some workshops.
You are amazing! Love the van! 😊
Thank you!! 😊
Floor looks good, mine is an old electric company van, what a mess. Your moving on 😃
I always wonder what happened in those vans before we purchased them. It's taken me months to get the pot smell out of mine!

Why did you take the floor out??
When I first bought the van, I had a spider infestation. I could not stop thinking about what was underneath the mat. And the flooring was dark and dirty. And the clamps on the floor were in the way - four of them. I wanted an entire flat floor to work with.
@ gotcha 😁
You know I have an entire torx bit set! 🤷🏻♀️
I brought the proper torx bits however there was no way to loosen those bolts. We tried every possible tool, so cutting the flooring out actually worked best. Bolts could be used as anchor points for securing the rest of the build. We had a nice time and lots of laughs. 😊
@ 🤣I’m just messing with Kym. You’re awesome to help her. 💜
I actually covered all four of them! Hope I won't need them. Can't wait to share with you my progress today. I'm almost finished. Can't believe it!
I am not surprised that you have a set. I'm going to start building me a little tool box!
@@OutonaLimbwithKym awesome!
Why would you take the floor off, I’m not experienced at all but it seemed like a good insulator?
I needed to see what was under the floor. I had a spider infestation when I bought the van. The thought of something living under there was too much for me. And there were four brackets built into the flooring and I needed to cover them to get a flat floor. and when I bought it - it reeked of marijuana. So it did help some taking the floor out.
What is the purpose of taking out the floor?

Thot you were taking it up to add storage space where the seats are . Im not sure what you are doing😮
I know. Me either!!! The guy that was helping me had to cancel. :-( I may have to try to do it myself.
You seem to have a problem with "dirt". , and/or things not in pristine condition. Perhaps camping/nomad life is not for you.
I can go two weeks without a shower - I have no problem with dirt. I have a problem with bugs and spiders. Spiders are a damn nightmare for me. But I push through it, because I love this life.
