I can't wait to get it all done! I've changed my mind on the flooring, though I love it, too. Just too much work and I'm just not that skilled. I'm going with the soft squares that they use in the daycares. It'll be softer on my knees and won't add much weight to the van.
It’s been fun to watch how you go step by step to build and design your van. Love the flooring! That is a ton of work, but for you, it will pay off when you finish. 💕
I used 2X4’s laid flat to make a frame screwed them together 16” apart long ways the short ones about the same. I put 1/2” plywood over the top and put the Flooring over the top. Works great
I did all I could do avoid building a frame. Thursday video shows the finished flooring and though there isn't an ounce of professionalism in the build - it's okay, it's done and it's doable and it's mine. 💙
How exciting - I like the floor pattern you picked out .....don't you just love using your charms and getting such a nice man helping load.....thanks for sharing
First thing that went through my mind when he walked over to me . . . Silence of the Lambs. I was waiting for him to tell me to get in the van and pull the plywood in. lol
You are doing great so far Kym!! Find someone that is good with making templates to help you cut the plywood and foam board! Is there anyone else close by that did anything like this that you might ask for advice?
Thank, you JOE!!!!!! I did it. It's done. Not the best, but it's done. There are not many people near by that I can ask. My friend Steve has helped me here and there, but I hate asking him so much. Time for the insulation!!!!!
I used to be first when you uploaded at 5pm lol busy with Haley most days. You look tired. I wouldn’t be able to do any of that either. Glad you are getting it done the way it feels love your channel. 💜
First let me say I would not attempt to do a build. I’m not capable at my age. Here’s my thoughts on the floor. When you took the rear trim piece off and saw that nice foam layer under the rubber mat I would have said perfect leave it. Between the foam and the rubber you have some insulation. I would have put a layer of one piece vinyl over the rubber. Not that any of this helps you but was great for me to see so I now have that knowledge. Good luck with the floor.
Thanks for the input! I am learning as I go and your advice is helpful. I've actually decided that I am not going to build the roof or the sides of the van. I'm done with the building part of this. The floor is done (Thursday-video) and I did the best that I could. I can not use tools, nor do I want to. I'm going to work on the inside and make it as cute as a button. No more build, except for above the seats! I desperately need that shelf!! 💙
I have a big box of Havelock, but I was told not to put it on the floor, just the sides and the roof. Oh, wait. No, no batting. I was going to, but seriously, there are just too many steps. I did put down the deadening barrier stuff though.
Havelock would be good insulation in the walls and ceiling, as you have been told. It is also helpful in reducing humidity, that can accumulate in vans, I believe. Are you putting the foam board between the ribs on the floor, then?❤✝️🇨🇦
True. I've decided to take it back. I'm going to just use the soft squares that they use in daycares. It'll be better on my knees and lighter on the gas mileage.
I wonder how hard those adhesive Siless pieces are to take off? I wish I lived closer, I would help you! I’m not an expert, but I’m pretty capable. Don’t you have a Bestie that can stay in your driveway and help you for some of this build? Not that you’re not doing a good job, but you look awfully tired and it would be nice to have somebody to laugh with during screw ups and successes! 🍂🍁🧡🍁🍂
Actually, I was exhausted by Friday and then I got sick and I missed Debbie Jean's Meetup!! So bummed. A neighbor friend helps me out on the next video. He brought his saw. It was the cutest little saw. I'm going to buy one! And everyone has their vehicles and they have work to be done. My friend, Jen came over and helped me pull the mat up, which was a huge help. If you want some of the Siless pieces, let me know! I have a box full.
Go get em Kym!!! You are a champion!!! 😊❤
I'm so tired. 😁
Congratulations on more progress! You are really working hard. I love the flooring that you picked. Looking forward to seeing it installed! 😊

It’s definitely a process! I consider the floor done. I've moved on to insulation and the side rails on the roof. Keeping moving! Keeping moving!
@ Yes!! That’s awesome!!! Can’t wait to see what you decide to do 💕

It's gonna look so nice!!!
YEAH!!!!! Can't wait until this shit is done!

Snooze, ya looze, sister! You really should make Haley watch my videos. She can learn a lot at two years old! 💙💙😁😁
@ ha!! I always get here as soon as I can!! 😁
Be sure you cover the wheel wells
I'd have to take off the panel to get to them. I did put some of the sound barrier in the doors!
Good job Kym. Be sure you do your wheel wells with the sound deadening. I did 2x2 furring strips with havelock to fill.
I would have to take that whole big piece off to get to it. My wheel wells are covered. Oh, crap. Do I need to take everything out and do that???
@@OutonaLimbwithKymis the white metal?over the wheels. Just do that surface. The tires generate a lot of noise.
I wish some carpenter wud help ya ❤but its gonna be fine, floor is nice🎉
THANKS!!! My neighbor friend, Steve helped me cut the plywood. Well, he cut the plywood, but I held it in place so it wouldn't fall. 😁😁

I agree the rubber she took out was insulation and already there.

Did I see the batting, or not? I ask because I wondered what kind you chose.😂✝️🇨🇦

I'm wondering if you can test a piece of the flooring to see if it's waterproof? If not i guess you could varnish it or some such thing 🤔

Just keep reminding yourself how much money you are saving by doing it yourself 🤑.
Oh, yes!!! Next is the storage area above the seats. Not sure how that's gonna happen, but I'm gonna try!
