The word "Venceremos" have that "Cuban" connotation because of the context , it was used during the Cuban revolution and by the Che Guevara, the concept of Venceremos then expanded to all southamerica during the 60's and 70's as a symbol for the emancipation of the working class and more equality and conditions for the people.
Amazing cocktail! ¡Venceremos! We will win! Perfect cocktail to see next final of Champions, ;) That Piña Colada is a twist to a legendary Cocktail and would taste undoubtedly good. Cheers! Love you DrinksTube! Love you Jamie!
got me thinking with the sesame oil, got a good start recipe for a non alcoholic drink in a highball glass with 2 big, long slices of cucumber(drop them in the glass at the side) , 2 sprigs of rosemary, squeeze a whole lime and add 20ml(still not 100% sure with that measurement) of orgeat/almond syrup. Then muddle everything except the cucumber left at the side. Then add 1-2 drops of sesame oil, give it a good stir so everything will release their flavor, add ice cubes and stir again to chill it. Last but not least top up with ginger beer and give it a good sip with the straw! Cheers :D
How about starting by keeping it simple with a Brennivin and tonic over ice, then trying a Brennivin old fashioned using Brenninvin and rye whiskey. Enjoy!
Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube: The rye Manhattan idea came out deliciously!! On a whim, I whipped up some carrot simple syrup and its amazing!! My wife ain't diggin it. She's not big on whiskey drinks. Any other Brennivin pairings?
Search TH-cam for "How to Shake a Cocktail - Raising the Bar with Jamie Boudreau - Small Screen" Jamie. You need a little help hehe. You are going to hurt someone. Just squeeze the tin to release the glass, you don't need to hit it.
I made it using Plantation Artisanal Rum, Malibu Coconut Liqueur, freshly pressed pineapple juice, freshly pressed cucumber juice, freshly squeezed lime juice and a few drops of roasted sesame oil. I poured exact measures per the recipe into a boston shaker filled with good quality ice cubes and shook it for 25 secs. And it tasted... kinda awful. Tastes are subjective and maybe I just can't appreciate a good cocktail, but to me it tasted .. awful :/
Oh no! We're sorry this one didn't work out for you - what's your favourite spirit? Maybe we can recommend you a different cocktail that will be more up your street!
Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube .. now I have a bottle of Malibu knockin around the house. Maybe you have some recipes with Malibu as base or main ingredient?
"Venceremos is a cuban word"? "Means 'overcome'"? What?? It's a spanish AND portuguese word that means "we will win". Come on, you can do better than google translate.
+Gabriel Martins (Inconfident) Well, it's more along the lines of "We will defeat" actually, "Ganaremos" would mean "We will win". But who cares, cocktail looks delicious any way.
would be nice to see more recipes from the legacy competition, I'm super interested in seeing the Rumbera for instance
+TheMcgreary We'll certainly do our best to bring you MORE!
Jamie! before I discovered your channel I was so oblivious in the world of drinks. THANK YOU for opening my eyes :)

I just returned from Iceland (beautiful!) and brought back a big ol' bottle of Brennivin! .... Now I don't know what to put with it. Help?!
How about starting by keeping it simple with a Brennivin and tonic over ice, then trying a Brennivin old fashioned using Brenninvin and rye whiskey. Enjoy!
Those both sound like delicious options. Thanks!

Great video! Love you bro! Aaron Hechtman here! If you don't know me, you prob should :) lol
+Aaron Hechtman Hey there, Aaron!
+Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube Jamie! What's up broski! Your hair is inspiring!
Could I just blend a cucumber with some water? Does it have to be a juicer?
That should work, just strain it afterward, but go very light on the water to make sure it isn;'t diluted.
Cheers mate.
Curious how that sesame oil taste might come through.
+boy638 Give it a go and find out!

Not meaning to be rude, but are you guys going to do any booze-related drinks that AREN'T ads anymore?
+Zelmel are you going to pay for their expenses then?
MrMishal03 By watching the google ads, yes, which isn't the same thing as the entire video being an ad.
+Zelmel I'd much rather see this than the Google ads
You know you can just use another white rum. It really isn't hard.

Seriously you use your hand when getting ice?

Martin Bruun Malibu is not the greatest choice for this cocktail. And you only need to shake it for maximum of 10 seconds.
