    A swedish author and film director named Kay Pollak wrote a book called "Att välja glädje" which means "to choose happiness". The book is about happiness and describes happiness as a choice, that we make not what people make us feel. This book changed my life and my way of thinking about happiness ,and i started taking responsibilty for my own emotions. The author also says that if we think that our happiness is not in other peoples hands we get less angry and more happy. Thank you Brendon i really get motivated when i watch your videos and i like starting my day with motivational videos like yours ❤❤

      Mabrouka Abdullah I totally understand that, I know him hyper sensitive to peoples emotions. What helps me is to dis engage myself when talking to people sometimes and focusing on the information as fact not as a story. the difference is that story are filled with emotion. Facts simply are statements... I hope that helps

      Mabrukah Abdullah in addition, carry something sacred on you for protection of your energy. Crystals, talisman, sacred geometry etc- and essential oils + sage/palosanto + set the intention and visualize your energy Field protected by white or violet or gold light.. you can still connect with people but avoid being a sponge for their energy. 👑💜 hope this helps.

    Brendon, often times I see that you encourage us to change our emotions and what we feel into positive ones. But now my big concern/dilemma is; If you change your emotion, but not the thing that causes the emotion, it will only come back worse and worse.
    Example: Best friend died. Do I try to turn the negative emotions into positive ones (pushing away negative feelings), or should I accept the negative emotions (get through it) and THEN positively change it.

    • @1pauluzz1
      @1pauluzz1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm not Brendon, but I think there is a difference between mourning - which to me seems like the healthy processing of feelings of sadness and loss - and unproductive negativity that is within our control and that we mainly inflict onto ourselves. The latter would be waking up and thinking "I'm worthless, I'm not a good person / I haven't reached my goals yet / I'm not smart / I'm not pretty" --> those are all things that are completely unproductive, unhealthy and are within our control to change. Healthy mourning would be waking up and missing your best friend, feeling sad, but at the same time realising that this does not mean the rest of your life will suck and that the whole world is grim.
      When mourning I think that it is perfectly OK to feel sad about the loss of your best friend, while at the same time trying to find some balance. For example: you wake up and feel sad; that is understandable. Another friend asks you to go out for a walk because the weather is nice. If you choose to stay indoors, pondering on whilst feeling sad, you might not be making the best choice. If you go out for that walk and talk a little with your friend, you allow your mourning to still happen (you process things subconsciously as well) and you also get to share some of your feelings, but you're ALSO telling yourself "even though this is a painful phase in my life, I still deserve to get out there and enjoy the little things, like this walk & talk with another friend - I am still alive".
      So: I don't think you should turn your negative emotions coming from your mourning process into positive ones, but rather allow appropriate feelings of mourning and sadness to exist, while realising there are other sources for more positive feelings - and they can coexist. Only if your negative thoughts are destructive and unproductive (eg "my life will never be any good" is not a productive thought) should you change them into something more positive (eg "I am hurting now because I lost my dear friend, but this is a phase that will pass, and even though life without her/him will not be the same, that doesn't meant that my life should end as well - there is still plenty to discover and enjoy, even though it might not feel like that now").
      In due time, you'll probably be able to give the death of your best friend a place in your life and enjoy the new positive emotions more.. you will not have pushed anything away and you're not any less of a best friend to your late best friend, and you will have found the strength to move on. I don't know you, but I'm pretty damn sure your best friend would have wanted you to both mourn but also stay positive and strong and eventually be able to love life again.

    • @jermainsmith9601
      @jermainsmith9601 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sorry for your lost. The best thing to do is embrace the situation and mourn it. The quicker you exspress that negative sorrow is the quicker you can start the healing process. and in that healing process you can then turn it into a movement to empower others in that dark place and even find a greater purpose.

    This comment Is For The Person Who Feels Like It is Obvious what to do but he's not able to do it anyway.. he doesn't Know What's The Real Key To Make An Idea Into a reality.. and that action is just too negative to get into because there's so much hopelessness.. i want you to find freedom because I've been there too and yes the Answer Isn't to just do things. Doing Will Never Happen unless you Change The Self Identity you've Taken.. I Will Offer you The Golden Insight: Even If You're not Doing The Action.. Have Grit To Keep Saying The Name Or The Quality Of The Person You Aspire To live his life and be like.. Like "brendon" for example. If you keep this Thought going through your head as a reminder to engage the present moment like that person while doing everything and anything it'll bring you back into The present moment and you'll do what you want the way you want.. even if it doesn't work for the first week keep saying it until it starts building up an internal Identity within you. Of course be yourself.. but Also don't dis-attach from your role model

    I understand your point that by practice, you can master your mind and control your feelings but is it even possible? Wouldn't your ways suppress feelings too much? People have bad days in their lives.. and I think it's okay to be grumpy sometimes.

    • @BrendonBurchard
      @BrendonBurchard  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sure! It's ok to be anything sometimes. So, agreed! But the question is what quality of life we want to live, and what kinds of feeling and experiences do we want to consistently experience. It's an intention for our best life possible that drives us to learn to master our mind and feelings.... and that mastery will take all of our lives. But we can improve. All of my work and the entire field of psychology and human performance proves it, which is really exciting. We just have to do the work.

    You've made great points Brendon but I'd like to add that writing journals on daily basis is very helpful to gain emotions mastery. It's a superior form to talking to yourself. There is something magical about penning thoughts on paper. It affects us in ways that some scientists are still trying to figure out. Try not to use apps or keyboards. Use old fashion paper journal and a pen. Super helpful. Just a thought.

    Agreed: taking control of your own life is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves. People can always help you along the way, but if you don't put in the effort to help yourself, theres only so much you can improve.

    Such a great feeling to wake up and listen to your videos when I drive to work every morning and feel like I have control of my life because of your great understanding on exactly how I am feeling and how I should encounter these feelings and thoughts. I never thought I would find someone who could understand in the slightest how I feel, since finding your videos my whole life is changing 🙏🏽 thank you 😊

    what if you stay stuck feeling worthless and undeserving your while life? therapy, emotional work, no good. I feel the feelings of others. empath. it's strong. I have much gratitude for all that I have. I also have been sick for 8 years on treatments. I feel like if I loved myself, I might get better. even though it's a horrible disease, I feel like I brought it on myself like failure to thrive.i want to be happy, responsible, have an important impact on people. but I cannot be responsible, bc I'm sick. I let people down. I felt more confinement when I could work, put something into life. is it bad to crave human touch? holding hands, sitting near loved ones, or loving touch from the closest one

    Brendon, I have been working on bettering myself for about four years now. I was in a bad environment and had aquired bad friends and bad habits that did not serve me. My mentor was jason capital and he was a horrible mentor. He has some good advice from time to time, but in all reality he is just a man marketing his products that get dismal results at best. Your more honest than he ever will be and I would take advice from you over him anyday of the week. Your empathy and love for people is so clear in comparrison to his immature behavior of implying that rich and successful people are better than poor people. I just wanted to say thanks for all the free content and that I love what you do man. Also I wonder how do you think its possible to help keep people from wasting valuable time and money on products sold by people such as Jason Capital? Thanks for the awesome vid man!

    Self talk: you tell yourself how to feel, how to respond! How would your best self respond to this situation? Yes I very much agree, because we always hope it magically happens but we need to train/practice good emotions.

    Brendon, your videos have become a staple of my morning routine and as others are saying it is making a difference in business and also socially. I don't understand why anyone would dislike this video (or any of yours really) when everything you are saying is true, your delivery is great and your aesthetic is consistent. When put into practice effectively it's proven to work. I can of course understand how perhaps someone stuck in a negative mindset maybe through depression could find it unhelpful or think things like, "easier said than done" to just force yourself to think a certain way but it takes the initial effort and persistence. I advise anyone reading this comment to google and read "Think & Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill (Get the Capstone Hardback edition) My understanding of it being that "Rich" is to be understood not just in terms of wealth but in terms of all parts of your life and to "Grow" is that you are physically changing and growing the way you think in order to do so. Literally, your brain is physically evolving into a new mindset. The principles are timeless and Brendon helps to bring them to you in fantastic way. Please actually take it on board. Don't just watch it and "like" it, actually DO IT! Wow. I never normally comment on TH-cam hahaha.

    Thank you, Brendon! This video was really helpful to me! Thank you for all! Some things you told, I just did in the past, but I lost it with the time! But, then, some of them you taught me, and some of them you remembered me! Thank you! I'm feeling really grateful for what you said!

    I feel I've done all these things yet I still feel like shit. While I was watching this video I really thought about what you were saying and how it applies to my life and thinking have I done that or attempted to do it or not. I've tried everything yet it's always the same for me. Would love to talk to you if possible. Will pay if need be
