    Cheers from San Diego California... this is one reason why you can't go cheap on jobs. Rookies don't have 7K in tools in their truck. Saw you fitting those doors mortising the hinges. You're a great carpenter. Me..35 years mostly framing..

    Tools are an investment mate, if you use them every day, they pay for themselves over time. Some quicker then others 👍🏻 nice drone shot at the end

    I recommend the paslode im350 nailer. Lightest gun and that means alot to me.
    Festool vacuums are very good but your miter saw isn't the best for dust extraction.
    Get yourself the small 18v blower, it has 1000 uses

    one thing get all the same make check out what you need look up the pros and cons for each range because if you get assorted tools it cost more because extra battery's you need as larger battery's for chop saws can cost £150 + i swapped from 1 make to another after 5 years still got the older ones but leave them at home for jobs there i spent with hand tools around £12 k in the last 2 years but should be ok for the next few years

    Great video as always mate from a fellow carpenter. I'd like to see a video on your thoughts as to how we raise standards in our trade. So many good tradies around but reputations get tarnished by a few cowboys! Stories I hear from apprentices often make college sound a bit rubbish, so it's dependent on whether we get a good mentor alongside that. How can we improve it?

      @tracer1127 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s very true about an expense tool not necessarily making you any more money. I fit kitchens and have built up some decent kit over the years but definitely agree just because my chop saw cost £500 and my rail saw a similar amount if you give them to someone who doesn’t know or care about fit and finish they are a complete waste of money. A cheap chop saw and a decent blade can definitely get quality results. Most power tools get used for numerous different functions and you can end up with tools that stay in the garage. For example do you need a portable expensive table saw if you own a decent track saw ?
