Man, I love these multi-hour long deep dives on FromSoft games. Your added humor made the whole video a joy to watch. I cant tell you how many times I burst out laughing. Very well done 😀
Excellent presentation. Seriously entertaining. I disagree with almost everything you complained about though. Would you say maybe you're impatient or not detail oriented? A lot of these things, especially bosses and terrain, don't need to be cheesed, you just need to know all your options and pick your moments. Even the things you said you needed to Google, I kind of get it, but I also think you jumped the gun a fair bit. I guarantee all the little inconveniences are part of the intentional design because they know you have everything you need to overcome them if you put in the effort.
I never comment on videos. Im so surprised you only have 1.7k subs this video is so well done, also hope u didnt stop making videos, you’ll be a big youtuber one day
I really appreciate you saying that! It means alot to me. I definitely plan on making more videos, I'll probably put something together on my playthrough of shadow of the erdtree at some point. I've been lacking the motivation lately but comments like these really help with that! Thank you again ☺️
I’m sure you’ve learned by now, but you can buy a lantern early in the game that you attach to your hip pouch that you can use to light dark areas that frees up both hands. You can use the sentry torch and equip it to your back after activating it and fight the black knife assassins that are typically “invisible” otherwise. Can also get the jump on them using the Black Knife Armor Set found in the same area. Also for the invisible pathway puzzles, use glow stones or rainbow stones to drop before you to find the path. Cheers! Great video! I subbed. Can’t wait for the DLC!
The reason margit shows up 3 times is because he’s the Demi God he cares the most to stop you from becoming stronger and becoming elden lord the reason he didn’t die the first to times is obvious it was his spirit summon essentially that’s why the first 2 times you fight him he turns from a common enemy to margit but the last time you fight him he doesnt because it’s the real him so you weren’t fighting the real guy the first 2 times

I am obsessed with this game. I've played it so many times and just like Hollow Knight, I love the exploration and sense or wonder. The world building intrigues me and makes me want to learn as much as I can from videos like this. Great vid!
Great video man one of the better Elden Ring reviews / retrospective I’ve seen and I’ve watched quite a few ! You should do this style video for the DLC man !
20:00 You don’t have to fight the copy. You can run past him. Also this is because Margot wants the capital to himself, so he attacks when your the weakest via the Margot alias, attacks you trying to prevent your entrance to Lyndel then attacks you at the end. Margot of which has a different move set, different phase, etc etc.
This review was a highly enjoyable experience which I finished over a few sessions while cooking dinner and having a beer. Top stuff man, really enjoy your perspective and banter🍻
An outstanding video essay. You’re authentic and unpretentious and I really rate that, especially in terms of Fromsoft content. Subbed. You deserve to grow. Go forth and prosper mate 👏
I know it’s not graphically the best game but god damn I think Elden Ring is one of the most beautiful games ever made. The art design is completely next level
Great video, my dude. I sat here for 3 hours straight doing my 2nd play through, listening to your thoughts and opinions on one of my favourite games of all time. I hope you can cover the DLC in the future 👍🏼
Fantastic video! I've watched it three times now (although I've skipped bits because I haven't finished the game yet). I love this format and I hope you use it again. Also, your personality makes it a really fun watch. Subscribed!
39:49, that's not the run back, you didn't open the short cut to the left out of the debate parlor which takes you to the elevator below the boss room.
I'm sure people have already touched on this, but on the topic of Rennala's run back.. There's a few things you can do to make it easier. After you kill Moongrum if you turn left instead of going up the elevator, you can open a door that creates a short-cut from the debate parlor up to that bit, skipping the platforming and bridge with the balls. You can also turn off the balls. It takes a bit of work, but you can get up there where they spawn from and kill the mages who summon them, disabling the trap. Lastly, this really is the only run-back in the game aside from Placidusax, and compared to previous Fromsoft games, even as late as Darksouls 3, Elden Ring is extremely generous with its Sites of Grace and Stakes of Marika. All previous installments by Fromsoft in the SoulsBorne genre have seen brutal run-backs to the bosses, so honestly... Rennala's run is a walk in the park compared to those haha
If you skip Stormveil Castle, and Margit, by taking the alternate path to Liurnia, then defeat Morgott, you'll be rewarded with an extra talisman slot. Not something most players will do on their first playthrough, but it's a good option for the second.
I played a flame profit on my first playthrough and killed Maliketh so fast that I didn't even see what his moves were... On my second playthrough I used a Reduvia bleed build and got my ass kicked for like half an hour. Everyone is going to have a different experience with this game.
King Morgott never left the capital in my eyes, makes sense to me, since we see one guy transform in front of us outside the capitol, both times you fight him it's someone else not Morgott, after I watched so many people play Elden Ring on TH-cam, I started to notice the very first time you see him (Margit) there's a gold sparkle when the camera goes to look up at him so I believe that's another cronie posing as Morgott, heck couldn't even say his name right lol
No, i disagree. I believe they are the same entity. Evidence being item called 'Margit's Shackle' works on both Margit and Morgot. Nobody knows for sure how but theory i believe is the one that said Margit is a projection of Morgot at one point in time.
@@arkbeetle well maybe, but I'm not sure if I read or heard it somewhere, but doesn't a clone or mimic need like a piece of them, like uh a nail or piece of hair, maybe like a DNA kinda thing, so the shackle could, in theory, could work on a clone/mimic, heck what about Mogh's clone under the capital, the shackle works on him as well and he sure as heck isn't there anymore, so yeah something links them to the physical form, and the shackle doesn't care as long as something is there, wither it be a piece of hair or some cronie using something to transform into them and the shackle will not care and still works so yeah I still believe Morgott never left the capital
Make sure to open the lock doors so that the run back to Rennala is quick. You just exit the bonfire run along the left building up the stairs and across the now open door and bridge.
I took my time and just explored as much as possible or came back later if I got stuck on a difficult part. It is one of the few games I have played where I have played over 200 hours and not get bored with it. I used the summons at the beginning just to see what they do but as I got better I found myself not needing to use them unless I had to answer the phone and they served as a distraction. I play with different weapons to make the game more interesting and more challenging.
There's nothing wrong about Rogier killing Margit instead of you. Hell I even summoned Jellyfish also. It's a part of Jolly Cooperation. That's what these games are all about, achive victories together 🔥💯
2:07:36 actually, the Mogh in the sewers is a projection put there by the real Mogh (similar to what Morgott does with Margit) to prevent anyone to get to the frenzied flame because it would not allow Mogh to stablish the Moghwin dynasty
Hi! Great video! I just wanted to tell you that I'm a "completionist" player, I'm also a Souls fan, I've played all of the souls games (also Sekiro and Bloodborne), and some of the "I googled it" that you said were found by me by chance, because I always do my first run as a blind run. For instance, I got to all the areas in the game, including the Haelig Tree, so I found the medalions, I knew reading it the it opened a secret passage or something like that and I was like 5 minutes trying again and again the medallion until I noticed that I could change the option for the elevator with triangle hehe. I agree with you on the NPC quest's, in fact he only quest I finished was the Jar one, but giving that I was a mage I explored very well Caria and I almost finished the Rani quest, even if it wasn't the final I chose.
Yeah it's been pointed out a few times, but I'm not gonna lie to you I see no difference. Would I rather go a *slightly* shorter way only to get harassed by glintstone sorcerers non-stop? Not really to be honest, lol. In any case, I think the runback is a massive pain in the ass. With that said, since making this video I've played DS1, and after that experience I'll never complain about Elden Ring runbacks again. Thanks for watching!!
Incredible in depth video, you captured so much of the feelings i had jumping into Elden Ring as my first souls game. I do think you piss on the bosses a bit too much tho, they can be hard or frustrating but i dont think thats bad. For example the Ulcerated Tree spirit, feels like it fits the theme, its lost contact with «God» the golden order after having been burned in blasphemy, its supposed to fight without honor with dirty attacks. I was fully frustrated on so many bosses, but once i got through they never felt unfair (except Malainia). And the fact that the whole game can ble played no-hit just proves that its a skill issue. I also think Rykard was the most epic boss, with the weapon and the second phase. Difference of opinion i guess!
Silly to argue that you MUST use Google to play and/or complete the game. Exploration and discovery are a huge part of why this game is great. NG+ runs are there for a reason -- so you can go through the lands and quests again and find things you may have missed thus far. If 100% completion or getting the Platinum is your goal and the only thing that makes the experience worthwhile for you, that's your problem, not an issue with the game.
I used to agree unavoidable health sucking mechanics in boss fights are always bad. But my favorite bosses in Elden Ring are Mohg, Malenia, and Malakith, who all magically zap your health in different ways during the fight. Idk the adrenaline rush those fights gave me when i finally beat them was comparable to some of my first boss experiences w this series.
I love this game… but wow it scares the cr@p out of me at times. And as soon as I start to feel confident something comes along to shatter this 😆 + great video but I only watched to capital as that’s where I’m at. I’m finding it really tough to navigate ‼️ but will soldier on
I did a magic run my first time and so many things that gave you trouble were so much easier with ranged magic. That’s what’s amazing about this game. If you’re not having fun try a different play style.
"everything Elden Ring has to offer" well he can't cover ever- 3:07:29 😳 good job man, I'm sure the video will be great not sure if I should play the game first tho
ahahahaha its up to you, man! my recommendation would be to play the game, it's truly a masterpiece. thank you for stopping by and checking this out, though! it was a long one to make.
There is a bridge right outside the Renalla tower that you can unlock once you go through the normal path once and it cuts the runback into less than a minute; you make a few fair points in the video but unnecessary boss runbacks aren't one. I know it's your first FromSoft game, but trust me, it's insane how much better the runbacks are compared to the Souls series
You're definitely right. I still think Elden ring has some frustrating runbacks, but holy shit they are NOTHING compared to the runbacks I experienced while playing through DS1 lately. Thank you for watching!
@@gljake Hey, coming back after finally finishing the video and I wanted to say it's fantastic. You come across as very likeable and I like that you're not afraid to call out stuff you didn't enjoy even in a game with so much critical acclaim. Definitely going to catch up on other vids you posted!
Using ashes and summons for bosses is okay. Don't let those elitists tell you otherwise. They are tools the game gives you, so use them if you need to. It's like, someone called it cheesing when I explained I was getting the invisibility spell from Dusk to help me with the Anor Londo archers. No. It's using a tool from the game to make an unecessarily frustrating part less frustrating. Maybe a little cheesy, but not pure cheese. Those archers aren't worth spending too many of my nerves on.
What a great video! One thing I noticed is that you think there is NO way anyone could ever figure out the quests or lore. I have to really disagree with you on this one. The pot in the village of albinaurics? Well the fingermaiden on the bridge in liurnia tells you about exactly that. Stonesword graves? Tell you about the lore of the place. Dectus medallion? A fingermaiden tells you about the whereabouts. Rannis quest? You hear the howling and see the guy at the top. Now, Kalé was the guy you go to in the first area basically always. Why? Because you are led to fort Height in first place. How? Because grace guides you to the gate where the troll is. He is too strong so you go the other way, which is directly through mistwoods. Then you good to the bloodhound prision with Blaidd, and he tells you to go to liurnia to find Iji. He tell you NOT to go to the manor that directly lies ahead. Which of cause you do. So you find Ranni. If you follow the quests, theres ALWAYS someone telling you where to go and what to do. After playing the game as intended, i realized EVERYTHING is easy to figure out if you just talk to poeple and read stuff, going the inteded way. Now, most poeple wont go the intended way obviously, so that doesnt always end up happening but it is there. If you go up the way from the ruin strewn precipice, you will DIRECTLY see Milicent. I havent found her the first time because I went with the lift. Does it mean she is hard to find? No, it means that I just didnt went the way she was meant to be found. FromSoftware is very special in the regard so I didnt realize it the first time because I never played the souls games. But it IS there. You basically have to learn how to play their games. I will play the DLC VERY differently then I did the main game at first because there are huge differences
thank you for watching! I appreciate the kind words so much. I guess I was a little over-the-top with my thoughts on the questlines in the game. This being my first fromsoft game, I was a little out of the loop on the way they handle giving players instructions. I do recall running into plenty of people who give you hints on what to do next, but I guess I'm so used to other games slapping a big quest marker on whatever it is I'm meant to do that I got a little lost here. I'm sure I'll understand things more going into the DLC. I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts and again, thank you for the kind words!
Ok, so I am gonna watch it little by little an update this comment each time I want to add something to say, cause I really wanted to talk in detail about the game. -1:46: The tutorial is completely stupid, is like ACTIVELY designed for you to miss it as a new player, like, where are you going? The glowing tree and door that are clearly visible or down a hole in the ground? -3:52: The tree sentinel is not really hard, with a couple of tries you can kill it without any issue just with a stick and no clothes; but is also kinda stupid that they placed a grafted scyon to kill you in the initial are, and THEN a new boss meant to kill you as the next enemy you see normally; like why 2 in a row? -4:22: You are meant to find Ranni? Like really? In my first run it took me like 10 hours to find Ranni for the first time, cause I had literally no reason to get back to that chuch, and you can miss the spirit's ashes mechanic entirely, kinda dumb -6:31: That's not just a little deep, like you went almost ti the deepest corner of Caelid... why wouldn't you turn back after seeing the sky turning fucking red? -7:37 : Did you actually went to the weeping peninsula first? Like before the lake or castle, or any evergoal? I completely missed that zone until like 30 hours cause I though it was a entirely new zone I wasn't supposed to go yet, just like the others and not an extension of Limgrave -10:22: Not aggreing, like Margit at lvl 30 or so is already supereasy, you can tank everything and still win, and at the same time that it is a good thing that you can come back later if you want to make it easier It is also terrible thing that you can come to places already leveled and make e erything easy for you when you actually want a challenge. You barely ever un the sweet spot if exactly an enjoysvle challenge, and that's awfull -10:50: Proceeds to show probably the 2 easiest attacks from the boss, instead of the long combo that always roll catches you or the ultraquick double slash that always hit you if you are not possitioned well when trying to punish him -25:18: If you have that opinion of tbe boss fight of "they are awesome" just cause they look and feel cool, you truly just scratched the surfarce of the issue, like for a new comer, getting traded or summoning to bear bosses may seem like nothing out of the blue, but for a seasoned veteran is blasphemy, like you don't have to just defeat the boss to barely get pass it, no, no, you HAVE to dominate the fight, learn it, mark tje pace of the battle, not "withstand the storm"; YOU are the storm. Like in elden ring the bosses have some many cheeky, cheap punishing and bullshit attacks thay for a new player may seen just more of the same but for someone with moderate experience is like a massive red flag, like not being able to consistently evade any form of damage, is a sing of weakness in our book, ut doesn't feel good or rewarding when you have to trade the boss or just enter defensive mode cause they are doing some bullshit. Then there will be the opposite side telling you that the desing is actually genious cause some god gamer beated it at rune level 1 with punches, no hit, under 3 hours, playing with a guitar hero controller; that people, that people is not the target player, nor should you look at them to meassure is something is good, cause if they are the meassure of what's good balance you literally could not play ANY games cause you reaction time is just that of a normal human being. The bosses are bullshit, and not only from repetition, which also, yes, they are repeated as fuck, they could literally remove bosses without adding anything in their place and the game would be better, cause it would feel less repetitive; but cause their desing is difficulty for the shake of it and trying to punish the player for playing in the obvious and fun way -27:40: It is more part of Ranni's quest, but they are interteinef, so you are not wrong, just that it is Ranni's towers so... -28:56 : The lobsters are not that bad, is fine to have some enemies that are specially dangerous at great distances -33:10 : Ranni's quest is not that hard to figure out, only a few parts are easy to miss. Step 1: Kill Radahn, which you would want to do anyways. Step 2: After killing Radahn, the cinematic would compel you to see if something has change in the map; which is not that hard to find, it is not easy either, but like eventually you will find it. Step 3: Complete the dungeon completely, if you explore well enough, you will find everything and likely go check on Ranni's if you hadn't already or you will find her later. Step 4: Kinda conculuted, you have to figure out that you have to talk to her several times and then she will go missing and you have to figure out that a new tower is open with a portal. You would likely go to the sacred tower since you got the clock, find the stuff there, try to get back to talk to her, find her missing and see if their fellas have anything to tell; you would likely find the tower open if you do that. Step 5: Loot Ranni's doll and talk to her, hard to miss, once you have entered the portal. Step 6: Continue the dungeon normally. Step 7: Defeat Asteel. Step 8: wonder why the door after the boss doesn't open. Step 9 (This is the hard one for me :P): Realize Ranni gave you a key not to long ago in the path to Asteel, after defeating the shadow. Step 10: Read the description of the key to figure out what to do Next. Step 11: Loot the chest at Raya Lucaria, get the ring and proceed through Asteel's door. Step 12: Explore the new area and eventually find the end of Ranni's quest. That's it. Is not THAT misseable; like I missed the ring part for like 30 hours, that's literally the only thing I checked online, but I could have figure it out, if I just cared enough to check the key's description once she gave it to me. So I can believe someone did that route without a guide. -38:54 : You are totally right, it makes no sense that there is not a respawn point just outside the boss room, like Marika's efigies are literally meant to do that, I don't know why is not one there. If you say it is for lore reasons, that's literally stupid, cause for lore reasons I doubt a site of grace would just spawn after killing the red wolf -45:15 : By the point you are here, this guy should be easy; like the moveset is kinda hard, but you can find him in Limgrave and in Liurnia as the bell beating hunter, and he is considerably harder there for me, cause you don't really have a build yet. If you have find it before and beat it, now is the chance to take revenge and bully him, not a challenge -48:08 : Malenia didn't win, like she fought in the name of Miquella, as Miquella's Blade. As Miquella's Blade she could not beat Radahn, so she HAD TO resort to the rot, a curse for her, something she despises, the entire Caelid is proof that Malenia did not win as Miquella's champion, but as a herald to the scarlet rot, something she fought her entire life, which is the greatest shame for her, they both lost that fight and Radahn is not even killed, so Malenia failed her quest. Malenia later, is completely crazed and defeated knowing Miquella is missing and that the last thing she did was fail. Fail to kill Radahn, fail to contain the rot, fail to protect her brother. When you find her later, she has lost any will to live, and is just there, grieving for her mistakes. She goes on and fight you, in a desperate attemp to clean her name. When she says "I am Malenia, Blade of Miquella, and I have never known defeat", she is trying to convince HERSELF of it; an important point I think many people missed.
I'm in the same boat as you! Albeit a few less playthroughs, though. I just started what is my 6th playthrough, and I think I'm getting to a point where I should just wait for the DLC too.
Elden ring retrospective: "It's annoying" Agreed. I didn't find the good in it like you though, even after 150 hours. Still wish for a return to ds1 and DeS style less focused on annoying movesets and more on creating interesting design and mechanics. Playing DS1 blind in 2012 was special because it was unique to me. I hope they rediscover their courage in designing their next game. Tbh I prefer the fromsoft games not made by Miyasaki now. This video was excellent though, really enjoyed your takes and format. Cheers
@@gljakehope you do because its not only my favorite fromsoftware game but my favorite game of all time ps what do you think fromsoftware approach to storytelling
@@sueflewelling3657 definitely! I like the way they tell their stories, I think it keeps their games feeling very unique and special. I think they run the risk of alienating a lot of people, but that doesn't seem to bother them!
@@gljakei ask this because I seem people say exspesly the ones that are really fan of this games that there is not story at best there a into cutscenes that explains events before the game and after almost nothing most of the othere cutscenes are for the bosses and that it what say you?
@@sueflewelling3657 i'm totally fine with the way they tell the story. it's a little confusing, but that's okay. i think it's part of the art form, and i'll always respect the artists decision on how they want to convey their story and their world. Elden Ring has one of the most interesting and beautiful worlds I've ever played in a video game, and I really think they do a great job of immersing the player in that even if it isn't by conventional means.
The comment about only 9 unique bosses is crap, margit, godrick the grafted, renalla, radahn, magma wyrm, godskin, dragon, maliketh, malenia, horah loux, radagon, elden beast, mogh, gargoyles, golems, leonines, erdtree avatar, black knife assasin, deathbird, knights cavalry, rykard, crucible knight, commander nail, tree sentinel, fallen star beast, ser gideon, bell bearing hunter, anseteral beast, astel, dragonkin soldier, rune bear.......even if you dont count all them ther are more than 9 main bosses? I know it wasnt you who made the comment but that that was nonsense personally. Other than that loving the video so far 👍
Even though I can't completely say you're wrong. As someone who this is also their first Souls game, I'm on a new game plus and considering a third with the coming DLC. With the repeat, duo/trio bosses, and 'difficulty spikes', most people are kinda making a mountain out of an anthill. Not only does the game give you the tools you need, but most of them are optional. Top shelf video though
I do actually agree that the repeat bosses and difficulty spikes aren't really that big of a deal. It's a small issue in an absolutely massive game, and I don't think it takes that much away from the experience. I think it's something that's worth mentioning, because it's something they definitely could have improved on. But overall, not the end of the world. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and thank you for watching! :)
They nerfed the AI of duo bosses against solo players in one of the patches, so many people who played before the nerf would have had a horrible time on those bosses
Honestly love the organization of the video, and how to make a lot of fair points, but it kind of bothers me how you talk about how the game was made specifically to piss YOU off, it's a hard game, it is made to be hard, and if you think this is unfairly difficult, try dark souls remastered that is hard as shit
Margit is an amazing boss. Taking him down is such a confidence booster for the next several hours. The best definition of a door boss.
I agree! I think he has a couple of flawed mechanics but the feeling I got from beating him was incredible.
True, but it wasn't until Stormveil Castle that got me REALLY engaged and I feel bad for people that get gatekeeped away from the true meat of the game
Terrible boss compared to most ds3 bosses, overly complicated moveset with horrible input reading mechanics
@@DreyfusLagoon i don't see how a complicated move set is a bad thing, input reading only applies to item usage and ranged attacks which by the way if you tried that in front of me you bet i would also react the same way.

An outstanding video essay. You’re authentic and unpretentious and I really rate that, especially in terms of Fromsoft content. Subbed. You deserve to grow. Go forth and prosper mate 👏
Will watch this in stages, what a great showing of passion for this game. Can’t wait to continue watching.
Thank you so much!!
Elden Ring will forever be my favorite game of all time, it literally changed my views & expectations on games, I’m itching so much to see the DLC.
I am too! too bad it didn't get revealed at TGA yesterday :(. Thanks for watching!
@@gljake Yeah it made me feel bad, it’s taking too long.
I know it’s not graphically the best game but god damn I think Elden Ring is one of the most beautiful games ever made. The art design is completely next level
Especially raya lucaria, leyndell and volcano manor
Facts like playing in a painting
Great video, my dude. I sat here for 3 hours straight doing my 2nd play through, listening to your thoughts and opinions on one of my favourite games of all time. I hope you can cover the DLC in the future 👍🏼
Fantastic video! I've watched it three times now (although I've skipped bits because I haven't finished the game yet). I love this format and I hope you use it again. Also, your personality makes it a really fun watch. Subscribed!
Check on for the the torrent elden beast update. Fights gonna be waaaaay better
Hahaha dude I am so hyped for that change!!!!
39:49, that's not the run back, you didn't open the short cut to the left out of the debate parlor which takes you to the elevator below the boss room.
I think that shortcut is even worse not saves you much time and you get bombarded with the mages
Guess I wasn't the only one to notice.
He made so much of a big deal over something he only made more difficult for himself
that's not a shortcut, the stairs on the right is just straight up better.
Idk if I’m just lucky or what but I almost never get sniped by the lobsters
I WATCHED THE WHOLE VEDIO BRUHH GREAT CONTENT MY DUDE I STILL HAVENT DEFEATED MELENIA THOUGH I HAVE DIED OVER 200+ TIMES
Thank you so much! You'll get her eventually, just keep trying!! 💪💪
@@gljake 😇😇
Really well made video!!! Great job!!!
Thank you! Appreciate it :)
Fantastic retrospective.
Thank you so much!
Great video. Was not expecting to end up watching the entire thing, but I did.
That's awesome to hear man, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch it.
If you skip Stormveil Castle, and Margit, by taking the alternate path to Liurnia, then defeat Morgott, you'll be rewarded with an extra talisman slot. Not something most players will do on their first playthrough, but it's a good option for the second.
That's probably because you also get an extra talisman slot when you beat Margit.
I played a flame profit on my first playthrough and killed Maliketh so fast that I didn't even see what his moves were... On my second playthrough I used a Reduvia bleed build and got my ass kicked for like half an hour. Everyone is going to have a different experience with this game.
01:38:00
Margit and the clone outside capital outskirts are shadow clones of Morgott. He's using projections of himself to scare you away
This is good to point out, but to me this feels like a bit of an excuse disguised as a lore explanation.
The Elemer of the briar is cool boss where you can heal if you not healing in front of his neutral position and I like him
I have definitely come to appreciate his design more as I keep playing this game!!
Great job on this video, man. Superb work!
King Morgott never left the capital in my eyes, makes sense to me, since we see one guy transform in front of us outside the capitol, both times you fight him it's someone else not Morgott, after I watched so many people play Elden Ring on TH-cam, I started to notice the very first time you see him (Margit) there's a gold sparkle when the camera goes to look up at him so I believe that's another cronie posing as Morgott, heck couldn't even say his name right lol
that's an interesting theory! thank you for watching :)
@@nemesisundead83 margit is a projection of morgot, it's the same with mohg in the shunning grounds, early godfrey is also a projection from morgot.
Great video and and personality :)
Thank you!!
Make sure to open the lock doors so that the run back to Rennala is quick. You just exit the bonfire run along the left building up the stairs and across the now open door and bridge.
great vid dude, super underrated

@@gljakehey bro, thanks for the reply, saw you haven’t made a video ina while.. any plans on coming back soon? love the content
Thanks for saying that man! I do plan on coming back at some point hopefully this summer.
I’ve been sitting on my copy of Elden Ring for a while now. Never played any Souls game. Gonna give it a shot after FFVIIReBirth. Great video!!😊
Thank you for saying that! It means a lot. Have fun!
"I'm a pussy"
Bro Marget owns me. I had to use a summon too. "LOWLEY TARNISHED, THOU'ART UNFIT EVEN TO GRAFTTTT"
He's no joke!!!
I agree with you on the NPC quest's, in fact he only quest I finished was the Jar one, but giving that I was a mage I explored very well Caria and I almost finished the Rani quest, even if it wasn't the final I chose.
underrated video ngl
Great video man :)

I'm late to the party, but extremely well made and entertaining video!
I really appreciate you saying that! Thank you :)
Switches from PS5 to phone just to tell you:
Ye Dawgshit😂🤘
1:18:00 easiest way to kill the putrid tree spirit is to hug it and power attack. Run when it starts glowing.
I’m sure someone pointed it out, but you missed the shortcut back to Renalla. That’s brutal lol
@@gljake You think ds1 had bad runbacks? DS2 felt 50 times worse
Difference of opinion i guess!
great video really enjoyed that
You gotta play Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne! Good Video, love to see the perspective of a new player 👍
45:35 LMAOOO nah this is so real im on NG+8 and still can’t figure that mf out
Hahahah tell me about it!!
You deserve wayyyy more subs
well thank you for saying that! someday, I'll get there :)
3 motherfucking hours???
I'll make some popcorn, hold up
hahahaha!! its a long one for sure. thanks for checking it out!
I finished Ranni's quest no googling
except I didn't get the ending because chaos took the world
I liked Elemer of the briar lore and weapons and armor but hated the boss fight😂
Absolutely same! I think he looks badass as hell, but I hate him too much to give him any praise hahahah.
The hands got hands & will put you to sleep 😂
I love this game… but wow it scares the cr@p out of me at times. And as soon as I start to feel confident something comes along to shatter this 😆 + great video but I only watched to capital as that’s where I’m at. I’m finding it really tough to navigate ‼️ but will soldier on
Thanks for watching!! Yeah, the capital is a bit of a pain to get around, for sure. But that's part of the fun.

Many thing about exploration is actually told you by Giedeon at the roundhouse table.
This guy sounds like a mix between Datto and Matpat, not that it's a bad thing of course. Just wanted to see if anyone else can hear it lol
Your reaction to beating Malenia is why people play these games. It's a high that no other game gives you.

not sure if I should play the game first tho
ahahahaha its up to you, man! my recommendation would be to play the game, it's truly a masterpiece. thank you for stopping by and checking this out, though! it was a long one to make.
Thank you so much for saying that! It means a lot to me, really. I appreciate your feedback, and I thank you for watching!
If my memory is correct, I believe Miyazaki stated a Malenia-type boss will be in the DLC.
28:05 You know... i just climb the ladder and jump down on em. That way she cant teleport away.
00:36:07 lmaooooooooo xD
Of course it needs nokron and the underground, its part of the story
Fort Haight*
In my first run it took me like 10 hours to find Ranni for the first time, cause I had literally no reason to get back to that chuch, and you can miss the spirit's ashes mechanic entirely, kinda dumb
-6:31: That's not just a little deep, like you went almost ti the deepest corner of Caelid... why wouldn't you turn back after seeing the sky turning fucking red?
-7:37 : Did you actually went to the weeping peninsula first? Like before the lake or castle, or any evergoal? I completely missed that zone until like 30 hours cause I though it was a entirely new zone I wasn't supposed to go yet, just like the others and not an extension of Limgrave
-10:22: Not aggreing, like Margit at lvl 30 or so is already supereasy, you can tank everything and still win, and at the same time that it is a good thing that you can come back later if you want to make it easier It is also terrible thing that you can come to places already leveled and make e erything easy for you when you actually want a challenge. You barely ever un the sweet spot if exactly an enjoysvle challenge, and that's awfull
-10:50: Proceeds to show probably the 2 easiest attacks from the boss, instead of the long combo that always roll catches you or the ultraquick double slash that always hit you if you are not possitioned well when trying to punish him
-25:18: If you have that opinion of tbe boss fight of "they are awesome" just cause they look and feel cool, you truly just scratched the surfarce of the issue, like for a new comer, getting traded or summoning to bear bosses may seem like nothing out of the blue, but for a seasoned veteran is blasphemy, like you don't have to just defeat the boss to barely get pass it, no, no, you HAVE to dominate the fight, learn it, mark tje pace of the battle, not "withstand the storm"; YOU are the storm. The bosses are bullshit, and not only from repetition, which also, yes, they are repeated as fuck, they could literally remove bosses without adding anything in their place and the game would be better, cause it would feel less repetitive; but cause their desing is difficulty for the shake of it and trying to punish the player for playing in the obvious and fun way
-27:40: It is more part of Ranni's quest, but they are interteinef, so you are not wrong, just that it is Ranni's towers so...
-28:56 : The lobsters are not that bad, is fine to have some enemies that are specially dangerous at great distances
-33:10 : Ranni's quest is not that hard to figure out, only a few parts are easy to miss.
If you say it is for lore reasons, that's literally stupid, cause for lore reasons I doubt a site of grace would just spawn after killing the red wolf
-45:15 : By the point you are here, this guy should be easy; like the moveset is kinda hard, but you can find him in Limgrave and in Liurnia as the bell beating hunter, and he is considerably harder there for me, cause you don't really have a build yet. If you have find it before and beat it, now is the chance to take revenge and bully him, not a challenge
-48:08 : Malenia didn't win, like she fought in the name of Miquella, as Miquella's Blade.
Will you do this for the dlc??
I may yet! I loved the DLC, but I've only played it once so far. Whenever I give it another playthrough I think I'll make a video.
Man if you think these boss runbacks are bad, you shoukd play DS1, DS2, or BB 😆
True! I have since played DS1 and I will never complain about another Elden Ring runback again.

Elden ring retrospective: "It's annoying"
Agreed.
Cheers
Gl great review ps you played bloodborne
Thank you so much! And no, not yet. Although I definitely plan to eventually!
I also would like to add I'm not defending the reuse of bosses at times, but there are plenty of others
I really did platinum without google tho 😂
3 hours really? jesus christ even miyazaki didnt put this much thought into the game.
hahahahaha
Samwell how you moved from GoT to IRL?
What does he mean by Godric is optional?
Oh dear god
Honestly love the organization of the video, and how to make a lot of fair points, but it kind of bothers me how you talk about how the game was made specifically to piss YOU off, it's a hard game, it is made to be hard, and if you think this is unfairly difficult, try dark souls remastered that is hard as shit
