what's funny I got the pre-order of this thing without spending a cent of real money, I sold the F-4F Early for 75 Gaijin coin and do not regret it. While the F-5C can some times leave a bit to be desired (mostly because I a used to F-5E) the C is still great, if only 95% of people who used it had an IQ higher than the boiling point of helium

I wasnt new when i got the f5c however i was very low in the us tech tree because i had nothing to grind with and i appreciate that finally someone has the acceptance to help new players that decided to make their own decisions with their own money and get this jet

@@brodiebessner9135 well you can fly it in realistic battles where you don't need a lineup, but you'll struggle cause you don't have the skills or experience to cope with top tier which is ten times harder than low-mid tier. You also don't have any experience with jets so you'll have to relearn everything again, and while you're doing this you'll have to worry about missiles (you don't get a warning for ir missiles), and you'll have to learn all of top tier's mechanics and how they work. I wouldn't recommend getting it straight away. The f-5 also relies on it's guns to get kills so your aim needs to be pinpoint accurate which is difficult when you're both going faster than the speed of sound
I'm enjoying the aircraft however I am struggling with the missiles im not sure when I should launch them and when I shouldn't anything that can help with this ?

(i don't have f-5c but i know aim-9e) generally at this tier i prefer flying undetected at high altitude and dive while enemies chase my teammates or destroying ground targets. also don't forget to keep your speed up like this.
My favorite is the AV-8A. Carry 2 bombs, 2 AIM9-G, and flare chaff pod. Easy CCRP base bombing from 20K feet altitude, then dive down to pop off the AIM9-G which can pull some crazy long range kills, return to base and repeat. Vertical thrust in turns can surprise people too. 30mm guns are awkward to aim but hit hard. Fastest accelerating jet in the game so you're first to reach bases. Base bombing is guaranteed SL and RP even if you get no kills.
It's not the fastest accelerating jet, it just has the best LOW speed acceleration. I catch and outclimb av8's in my 21S simply by gaining speed before I pull up.
Can’t count the times I’ve dunked hard af on AV8s and Harriers in a Mig-19. The only plane that gives me a fun time is the ocasional skilled F5C player.
Been playing off and on for years, and finally just got out of props. The intro jets weren't really doing it for me, so I splurged and picked up the F5c. Not a big fan of the rear aspect missiles but what a blast to fly.
I used this to grind all the phantoms to get to the f14. Then put a talisman on the f14 when they had a sale. I call it the money maker hahaha great video
One thing I've noticed is how insanely op the jets are. The F-5 should be loosing speed at any g load above 6.2 even clean, gun ammo only at full AB. The Max sustained turn rate happens at mach 0.75 at 9.5deg/sec at 4.3g Max instantaneous turn rate is 17deg/sec at 0.75 mach and 7.33g
Well it is realistic mode, not sim. Which means you still have some cushy physics to your advantage. Also, are you positive you are referring to the C model’s specs? Because every model of F-5 is significantly different and there were numerous times where Charlie models had many different modifications and different engines.
Knowing how to fly an F5 is so much fun, people just assume you'll play like shit and it's easy 5 kill games a lot of the time. The F-5C is one of very few high tier jets I'm positive on, with a KD of just about 2:1, already got the Tomcat ages ago and still keep playing the F-5C because of how fun it is.
Just had a funny game in the mig21 smt late in the match 2v1 stall fighting a phantom when suddenly the F-5C comes out of no where (thought he was still rtb) and ends up dead on my 6, 400-600m away from me for a looong time and managed to miss every shot. Almost got pegged by a missile from the other guy in the panick. I ended up manoeuvre killing them both into the ground ftw. Thank you for reading my blog
Good round Joob! Had a few of those while grinding all the U.S jets (pre-F16) with this thing, and won lots of 1 on 1's with MiG-23's (when they were new) it's great. Have about 2.1 in it without trying, coulda cut that down to 5.1 if I hadn't dooked around so much.
you can. if you want to do it first land at the airfield after you repair immediately J out then it will take you to the change load out screen. BTW this only works in air rb because if you try to land and j out in ground rb I'm sorry to say but the game will say you died so you spawned a plane for no reason.
yeah, but after grinding the ussr tree with su7 and going on f5c it feels very slow. the amount of rp u get from kills are pretty bad but if you want to carry bombs it will slow so much
I had a 1 V 6 in the F-5C the second game i played in it, and i abseloutely destroyed them landing me a 7 kill game in total, This thing becomes a MONSTER when you learn how to aim the guns, cuz you have enough ammo to shoot down twelve people
1v7 awesome and it all happens in a f5c, a light multi-role fighter! I love how smooth the flight through out the whole battle is. Is there a way you limit the turn rate and roll correction? Ive tried to turn as smooth or do some random manuevers but its opposite of smooth. the moment I touch the S key it turns too hard both blacking out because of too much G and losing so much speed. If I tried to turn around those mountains Id probably crash because of the hard turn it does.
I'd also check out Tankenstein's video if you guys, like me, are struggling with this jet. He gives some good pointers too. I'm not a new player who just decided I wanted a cool jet, I did grind all the way to rank 5 jets before I went for the F-5C, so I have at least some skill with flying. I was still taken aback at just how easy it is to black out in this jet though, as it really is a step up from the F-86's. You also have to keep your head on a swivel constantly, or you'll end up like those Mig-21's lol. It at least helps that the cost of repair is about half of what a non-premium jet of that rank costs to repair.

Try to use it for bombing if you take a base you can earn like 4.5k rp even losing. When you're up tiered it's hard vs better planes and missiles, and the guns are not really good (lot of crits) , the missiles are OK, but easily avoided. And you can try to cover allies and catching enemies that are concentrated in your allies.
F-5c requires a lot of skill and has a fairly steep learning curve I personally would recommend the A6E because you really only need to think "is this a good target to fire a missile on" and if the answer is yes then you can just get easy kills
I like the A10 for ground an pound. I earned around 160k match score with the F5C before buying the A10 during the 10th anniversary sale. Used that to finish out the grind to my f14, now its the brutal grind of trying to spade the F14 lmao
Thanks for the video this gave me a good idea of what "top tier" is like. It seems very tactical and tedious but you must play this way if yo want the best outcome. I also like this because it makes you seem more involved rather than the lower tier planes which is just run and gun type of way.

max out G-Tolerance and Stamina, Expert/Ace your crew too it helps if you can afford it (Don't waste the GE on Ace as you can unlock it while grinding)
I think with premiums don't matter what rank they are or you are grinding with them it's only tech tree vehicles that give you a bonus or deduction if it's a really low rank or high. I don't know if talismans negate the effect but I am pretty sure any premiums do not matter what rank you are researching. I got the f14 basically with the d20 xp 50 and the us bf 109 f4
Im sad to tell you youre wrong. Premiums can get full rp for all ranks lower than them and their rank+1. more than one rank higher and you lose efficiency
the harrier only has more instantaneous thrust (more responsive when throttling up). Once the F5C is 500 kmh or just off of the runway, the f5 will put accelerate the harrier.
I remember when I done a 1v7 against Phantoms and they were all dogfighting me at the same time but I was doing rate fights and all type of maneuvers to kill every phantom and win the 1v7
i have been playing sim a lil and i’m getting 42k rp for bombing two bases landing and taking off capping zones and jsut stay in the game and just go back and forth
Great video, it really helped me a lot. After following your tips most my games I get at least like 2 kills (I'm not good with jets) where I used to rarely get a single kill. Not sure if you already have but could you do something similar but for the F-14? I already have it and I'm pretty ass at it.
11:09 you like fighting in the 2 circle rate fight and deltas, like mig 21’s, are purely one circle radius fighters, and with altitude have more options. on the deck they’re fucked unless they can off-set the circle, even then it’s bad.
Ive gotten a kill with an aim-9e from the f5c and killed a mig 19. What you do is you shoot once they turn and lose speed, and get close with your speed
I already have the harrier, but I only bought it because I wasn't experienced in jets. Now I am, and still have a lot to unlock so I'm hoping this things on sale.
The ju 288c is a great sl farmer and rp grinder. It did get nerfed slightly by raising its br but it's still great. The turrets on it are also good and I've clutched a few games by killing the last fighters and even gone bomber hunting in it. That said tho it's still a bomber so if you don't mind bombers then go for it. One last thing, because it's such a good premium there is an issue with a large number of your team also being ju 288c's. Because of this your team may lose quite often due to your fighters being vastly outnumbered. I recommend you look at Jetnoob's video on why 6.0 sucks for a little bit of his insight on what I was talking about. Due to his feeling on 6.0 and what the ju has done to it its unlikely he will make a video on the plane.
I just bought a talisman for F-5E because it is superior to the F-5C and its cheaper. But, I still don't have the USA F-15A as I went for the Japanese one first. I believe they will add the F-20 Tigershark (F-5G) and that plane will probably give even a JAS-39 Gripen a hard time. Cannot wait to see Su-30SM super-maneuverability with 3D thrust vectoring and canards or even a Su-47 Berkut premium and Su-57 top tier USSR/RU TT
i bought this thing from anniv sale. At first, i hate this thing. I mean AIM-9E in 11.3? You kidding? And then after getting used to it, i dont know how many times i played this plane and i can assure you most of it are fun and wacky. Totally worth, also grind your skill unlike Harrier.
Any tips with the aim 9e ? I don't know what I'm doing wrong sometimes I get a direct lock behind them and it just kind of fizzles away or it just gets flared immediately does it have to constantly have to have a visual site of it's rear ? Or something
There's tip videos on how to use em best. Unfortunately they aren't the most solid air to air missiles. As long as you have a view up their rear they should track well. You can also cancel spooling and reengage it if you lock onto something you didn't want to before it leaves the rail.
Around how long would it take to get to the f 14 and how long did it take you I will use the f 5c and this was a great video with amazing advice but I’m curious how long it may take

I think with premiums don't matter what rank they are or you are grinding with them it's only tech tree vehicles that give you a bonus or deduction if it's a really low rank or high. I don't know if talismans negate the effect but I am pretty sure any premiums do not matter what rank you are researching. I got the f14 basically with the d20 xp 50 and the us bf 109 f4
Im sad to tell you youre wrong. Premiums can get full rp for all ranks lower than them and their rank+1. more than one rank higher and you lose efficiency

the harrier only has more instantaneous thrust (more responsive when throttling up). Once the F5C is 500 kmh or just off of the runway, the f5 will put accelerate the harrier.

I remember when I done a 1v7 against Phantoms and they were all dogfighting me at the same time but I was doing rate fights and all type of maneuvers to kill every phantom and win the 1v7
i have been playing sim a lil and i’m getting 42k rp for bombing two bases landing and taking off capping zones and jsut stay in the game and just go back and forth

Great video, it really helped me a lot. After following your tips most my games I get at least like 2 kills (I'm not good with jets) where I used to rarely get a single kill. Not sure if you already have but could you do something similar but for the F-14? I already have it and I'm pretty ass at it.

11:09 you like fighting in the 2 circle rate fight and deltas, like mig 21’s, are purely one circle radius fighters, and with altitude have more options. on the deck they’re fucked unless they can off-set the circle, even then it’s bad.

Ive gotten a kill with an aim-9e from the f5c and killed a mig 19. What you do is you shoot once they turn and lose speed, and get close with your speed

11:05 the f-5c performs better at low altitudes, and much more than other aircraft at its br, so it’s usually a good idea to fight low with the f5c

The ju 288c is a great sl farmer and rp grinder. It did get nerfed slightly by raising its br but it's still great. The turrets on it are also good and I've clutched a few games by killing the last fighters and even gone bomber hunting in it. That said tho it's still a bomber so if you don't mind bombers then go for it. One last thing, because it's such a good premium there is an issue with a large number of your team also being ju 288c's. Because of this your team may lose quite often due to your fighters being vastly outnumbered. I recommend you look at Jetnoob's video on why 6.0 sucks for a little bit of his insight on what I was talking about. Due to his feeling on 6.0 and what the ju has done to it its unlikely he will make a video on the plane.

I just bought a talisman for F-5E because it is superior to the F-5C and its cheaper. But, I still don't have the USA F-15A as I went for the Japanese one first. I believe they will add the F-20 Tigershark (F-5G) and that plane will probably give even a JAS-39 Gripen a hard time. Cannot wait to see Su-30SM super-maneuverability with 3D thrust vectoring and canards or even a Su-47 Berkut premium and Su-57 top tier USSR/RU TT
i bought this thing from anniv sale. At first, i hate this thing. I mean AIM-9E in 11.3? You kidding? And then after getting used to it, i dont know how many times i played this plane and i can assure you most of it are fun and wacky. Totally worth, also grind your skill unlike Harrier.

Any tips with the aim 9e ? I don't know what I'm doing wrong sometimes I get a direct lock behind them and it just kind of fizzles away or it just gets flared immediately does it have to constantly have to have a visual site of it's rear ? Or something
There's tip videos on how to use em best. Unfortunately they aren't the most solid air to air missiles. As long as you have a view up their rear they should track well. You can also cancel spooling and reengage it if you lock onto something you didn't want to before it leaves the rail.
